I do not own Darkest Powers -
Tessa and Allie had always been different. Although they did not know it, the DNA don't lie. The two figured this out at separate times.
Allie could tell from an early age. Whenever she wanted someone to get injured, or die, even, it would happen. It started at about age six when her house was invaded with ants. She looked at it one with hatred and wished that it would drop dead and leave her favourite crackers alone. It did. She tried again on other bugs, and gradually progressed to bigger creatures. No, not sadistic, just increasingly curious of the range of her powers. Thankfully, Allie has never tried on large mammals, so don't be too alarmed.
For Tessa, however, things progressed slowly. She never noticed until she was thirteen. As our main character Chloe would say, it all started at the "puberty smack down"
Tessa's world suddenly got stranger. At first, it was subtle signs. Functions that were alike the normal growth progressions of you and I, but more extreme. Doctors she visited wrote off her symptoms as hormone imbalances. Though they were completely oblivious to her true condition; lycanthropy. Yes, Tessa found out, at a very early age of fourteen may I add, that she was a werewolf.
Now you may be asking yourself, "How the hell does this fit in with the story, your a raving lunatic."
And to you I say "Hold your horses and keep reading, these are the OCs I mentioned in the bio"
Now where was I?
Oh yes. I remember. Tessa and Allie have both found out that they are supernaturals and *gasp* plot twist they both are on the Edison groups test subject list. Let's go to the present now shall we?
TORI'S POV
"Simon, get your feet out of my face!" I whined
Tired of our crap, Kit yells at us to separate and keep our bodies to ourselves. In doing so, Simon stuck his tongue out at me and I flipped him off in reply.
"Tori." Kit's voice warned. I gave him a big smile in return.
After about ten minutes, I heard Simon moan, "Are we there yet?"
"Actually, yes," was Kit's much anticipated reply.
As Kit pulled to a stop we unbuckled and Simon and I raced out of that van like nobody's business.
You see, a three hour car ride to pick up two supernaturals we have never met is very annoying. All we know about them is that they are very limited and training and their powers are pretty developed. I assume Kit knows more, he seeing his friend had asked him to take them in. And although we were warned to be super cautious, I couldn't stand
"Holy shit," whispered Simon.
As soon as I saw what he was looking at, I knew why. Before us was a home, if you must call it that. It was very run down, with windows boarded up, paint peeling, shingles missing; practically all of the things that make a house look haunted were on the front of that house.
"Damn," I whispered back.
Kit was at the front door, or piece of wood, rather, knocking gently, as if afraid that it would cave in. As we waked up to stand by Kit, creaking was heard . In a few moments, there stood a girl, about fifteen in appearance. She had long red hair tied into a braid, and wore a grungy purple dress. She seemed to be covered in at least four layers of dirt, and the only thing bright about her appearance was her eyes. They were a sky blue colour that were filled with wonder, curiosity and amusement.
"Hello," she said, keeping the door only slightly opened, never allowing for a complete view of her face.
"Hi. My name is Kit. My friend Alex has asked me to take you and Tessa home with us. He was worried of your conditions, and... now I see why."
She opened the door and said, " Yes, he told us someone would be coming by to help us out. Let me just grab Tessa."
With that the door closed, and waiting began.
