So this chapter...Aaron apologises for his actions and for his and Brennan's arguement, he then makes a forceful proposal. But you'll have to read to find out, funnily enough lol. As the days rolled by Brennan and Booth's former relationship began to speedily return, regular lunches occured and their petty bickering was at its normal level. However, Brennan still hadn't attempted to even have a conversation with Aaron. Neither had he. He was scheming. Scheming his way into her life and her emotions. But he was still burrowing, digging deep into her life, finding what made her tick.

He sat in his empty hotel room, flicking through his copious collection of pictures of her, concocting his plan as each picture passed. He stopped at one significant one. She was walking down the street, talking on the phone, presumeably to Booth due to the girlish smile stretched across her face. He gave a final, cocky smile and nodded, he threw the picture spinning onto the floor. He continued with his self-loving smile and grabbed his jacket, heading for the Jeffersonian.

He stepped through the pristine automatic doors, the Medico-Legal Lab Logo proudly placed in the middle of the glass. He shoved his hands in his pockets, placing a carefully chosen innocent expression on his face and strolled into her office. She was perched on the edge of her chair, typing furiously into a word document, her face calm and contented. He cleared his throat, finally breaking her fully focused attention.

"Hi." He said coolly.

"Hello." She said informally, turning her attention immediately back to her computer screen.

"Look Temperance - I'm sorry - I-I couldn't help it." He apologised, making another step forward.

"You treated him like crap." She faced him, her voice cracking.

"I know and I'm sorry but I was just a little angry, I'll apologise, I promise." He offered and she gave a weak smile. "You wanna have dinner tonight? I'll make it up to you."

She gave him a slightly more uplifting smile. "Sure."

"Good cause there's something I want to talk to you about." He winked. "I'll pick you up at seven." With that he exited her office. As he stepped out into the lab, he chuckled, now knowing he was one step closer to having her completely.

As the hours slowly scraped by, Brennan wondered about Aaron. She didn't know a lot about him, no, she didn't know anything about him. They never spoke about anything to do with his family, his job, his life. Nothing. Meaningless convesations about how one anothers days have been. Was this a relationship? Or was it two people stuck in limbo, completely unaware of their feelings. But she knew, that if she didn't know what she felt there wasn't anything there. Her logical mind then kicked in. I need to end it, tonight. She stood up, grabbing her bag and her coat in one swoop. Before she left her desk she opened the first drawer, and grabbed Jasper, thinkin she would need some good luck.

However, Aaron knew exactly what he wanted. Temperance Brennan. Every waking moment was spent with her lingering in his mind, everytime he opened his eyes she was all he could see. And he would have her, she would be his. He looked around his stuffy hotel room - the temporary wallpaper of Temperance Brennan - scattered around all with brilliant blue eyes gazing at him. He rose from the questionable bed, grabbing a blue tie from the single chair, sitting lonely in the middle of the room. He slipped it around his neck, adjusting it in the mirror opposite him. He straightened it and craned his neck, rubbing his hand over his face. He winked into the mirror, as if a crowd was watching him in a show. He slung a black dinner jacket around his shoulders and straightened himself out, there was no way she would say no. According to Aaron anyway, he had it branded in his mind that she was entirely his. He was going to test this belief.

Brennan nervously headed for the door as three defined knocks appeared abruptly. She pulled open the door, his cologne tickled her nose and his annoyingly blue eyes stung hers. He smiled brightly and took a tentative step inside, leaning in kissing her on the cheek. As she turned to close the door, he gave her a brief glance up and down. Gorgeous. A simple pair of dark blue jeans with a floaty turquoise top. Beautiful.

Brennan, however was uninterested in his attire, she just wanted the evening to fly past, allowing her to return to her normal life. She disappeared into her bedroom grabbing a light jacket, then headed for the door. As she swung the door open, his hand immediately went to the small of her back and she inwardly screamed, trying to suppress the urge to slap his hand away. That was reserved for one person only. She only allowed Booth to guide her out of a room, because it was Booth.

They promptly arrived at the restaurant, with minimal conversation in the journey from her apartment. She immediately left the car, giving him no opportunity no open her door for her. They both headed towards the restaurant as if they were on two separate worlds, with very different thoughts. Aaron jumped ahead of her and politely held the door open, she gave a brief smile in reply. A tall spanish waiter guided them to their seats, after the waiter left them with their menus, the tension and awkwardness crept in. Brennan kept her face burried in her menu, trying to choke down the desire to call Booth or Angela.

"What you gonna get Tempe?" He asked, breaking the icy tension.

"The carrot and coriander soup, and....The vegetarian spaghetti, you?" She inquired.

He paused for a second. "I'll probably get the salmon. Look Tempe theres something we need to talk about."

She suddenly became interested. "Really? Cause I need to talk to you about something too."

"Well, can I go first?" He asked and she nodded.

"Well, I've been thinking about this for quite a while now. I think maybe we should...." He paused, Brennan waiting impatiently. "Move in together."

She turned to stone, her eyes froze. "W-what?"

"We should move in together, you know take the next step." He smiled confidently.

"Aaron....I don't think so. I just don't feel that connection with you, I'm sorry." She apologised, still in complete shock.

He also turned to stone, unable to register the rejection. "Oh. Well thats um, to say the least a shock. I'm guessing you don't exactly want to stay here then?" He swallowed, marching on.

"No not really." She replied, looking down at the floor.

"Well, let me take you home." He offered and the pair swiftly left the restaurant.

The tension that filled the car was unbearable, neither looked away from their chosen spots and kept movement to a minimum. Brennan could sense the silent rage and embarrassment radiating from Aaron. She had never wished to her apartment so much. He abruptly stopped directly outside her apartment, his fingers curled tightly around the steering. She turned to him, daring to utter a word. But he interjected.

"Its okay Tempe, you don't have to explain." He ensured her. "But can I walk you upstairs?"

She hesistated to answer but allowed him to walk her to the door. As they walked along the corridor to her apartment, Brennan cautiously kept a half step infront of Aaron all the way. She raked desperately through her bag for her keys, so she could immediately enter her apartment without awkward goodbyes.

She finally pulled her keys from her bag, relief flashed across her face as she jangled then around in her hand. She put the key in the lock and turned around to Aaron before she unlocked it. His hands were tucked in his pocket and his eyes were scanning the floor.

"Aaron." She sighed delicately.

"You don't have to explain Tempe, but I wanna ask you one thing." She nodded. "Is it because of him?"

Her cover was blown. "B-because of who?" She acted confused.

His chest heaved. "Seeley." He stated bluntly.

"Y-yes." She whispered. "I'm sorry Aaron." She appologised, turning the key and pushing the door open slightly.

"It's okay...I'll be fine." He smiled.

He saw his opportunity when she turned away nervously, he abruptly attacked her and forced her into the apartment, slamming the heavy wooden door behind him. She struggled hard but Aaron was overly strong. She hated being over-powered. He effortlessly clamped her wrists behind her back with one hand. With the other he wrapped his fingers around her neck like tentacles, slamming her against the door, gaining her utmost attention. His eyes were now a dark steely blue, full of mechanical rage and hatred. He slowly began to squeeze her neck, stealing oxygen from her lungs, she couldn't scream. She desperately tried to clutch back the air, her fingertips slipping through. To gain her attention again, Aaron slammed her against the door once more.

"Now Tempe, I didn't want it to come to this, I didn't but you had to complicate things. I'm gonna make this simple for you okay?" He breathed heavily. "Your mines. Nobody elses. You will live with me, away from here, away from him." He hissed, terror evident in Brennan's eyes. "Do you understand?" She nodded quickly, her face reddening. "Good, I'm glad we are in agreement." He let her go and she fell straight to the floor, where she lay taking back the oxygen he stole.

Aaron came down onto his knees, looking her directly in the eye. Brennan's normally clear eyes were puffy and bloodshot, the normal green shine had been completely eradicated, all that was left was an empty lifeless green. "Now...Look at me!" He yelled. "If you dare call anyone, I will destroy him, he will wish he never met you. Okay?" She nodded again without a word. "Good, I'll see you tomorrow babe." He winked.

Then he was gone. Her chest heaved, as she still tried to get a normal rhythm of breathing. She eventually lifted herself from her spot on the floor and went straight to the bathroom. She hung over the sink looking into the mirror at her puffy and dull eyes, her hair all pulled out of place, and her neck a dark shadow now forming over it. She could still feel his cold hands on her, and the bruises she would receive in the morning would be a constant reminder.

She filled the sink and splashed the lukewarm water over her tired face. She carefully dabbed the water away and dared to look back in the mirror. She looked immediately to her neck where she could make out the impression left by his hand, she would never be able to hide it. Booth would sniff out the slightest hint of an injury on her and demand a reason, no lame excuses would pass, he was a human lie detector. Unable to cope with what tomorrow would bring, Brennan slowly walked through to her bedroom and slipped under her duvet, instantly covering her head, trying to hide the pain.
