Part Two: DNA Just Doesn't Lie

"Congratulations," Cooper deadpanned, "you've mutated your girlfriend."

Julie, still unconscious, now dressed in a hospital gown and hooked up to various monitors, had remained human ever since the wolf fight. But her DNA was not so human anymore. At various points in her DNA double helix her amino acids-the bases that built DNA- were changing into those of a wolf, of the Yendalooshi alien species, while the rest remained human. He had created a new Yendalooshi through pathological means. Well at least now they knew where that part of the legend came from.

"Anger, stress is her trigger, from what you've told me," Cooper continued in that same tired, bored voice, "she will change quite frequently for the first few months, and the Full Moon will force the change for the rest of her life, but once she gains control over it most of the time it will be voluntary and controllable though she might have aspects that translate to both lives…here's the necessary reading material…" Ben was given several large tomes, "and a tranquilizer gun that you should keep on you and loaded at all times for awhile in case she gets triggered because we so don't need her to maul someone by accident…" the small gun and large case of ammunition were placed on top of the stack of books, "You also need to keep an outfit for her on hand in just case…in her wolf form she'll be craving raw meat, preferably bloody."

"So what should I do on Full Moon nights?"

"My advice, keep a lunar calendar handy and get her out of town and to a very remote forest before the sun even sets on those nights."

"Isn't there anything—?"

"I can't fix it, there is no cure. On the bright side she will probably live a lot longer and a lot healthier than your average non-magic using human. Just keep her away from wolfsbane or aconite, it kills werewolves quite quickly. Also silver bullets, Navajo charms, the works…Make sure to give her flea baths every so often too…"

"This isn't funny Cooper!"
