Kagome settled into the director's chair, knowing Koga wouldn't mind as she started to flick through the script. She snorted. A typical romance. She should've known.

Rolling her eyes for the umpteenth time today, she quietly memorized the scene that they wanted her to stand in on. She could see why they'd asked her- the dance routine was more complicated than it appeared at first glance. It was meant to be some sort of waltz; graceful and romantic as the two lead actors realized their feelings for each other.

Her eyes darted from the script to survey the studio. Even though they weren't filming right this moment, the set was still a hive of activity. Actors were running lines, back up performers stretching and limbering, props being placed, and the tech wizzes editing and reviewing previously shot scenes as they prepared to substitute Kikyo for Kagome. Watching the bustle brought a smile to her lips. She missed this in a way. This behind-the-scenes chaos of movie magic. Giving the room another sweep, she tried to pick out who the lead actor was, eyes widening when they fell on a head of white hair.

Inuyasha? The Inuyasha? The infamous half-demon that had destroyed half the set of the last movie he'd worked on? THAT Inuyasha?

As if sensing he was being watched, his golden gaze flicked towards her. He didn't wave or make any other indication that he even acknowledged her presence. If anything, there was a slight hostility to his gaze.

Koga pulled her from her thoughts as he materialized in front of her. "How's the script?"

She shrugged. "Same old same. Does the lead actor know how to perform a Viennese waltz?"

He frowned, placing a hand on his hip. "I think that's what they were failing to pull off. He's had formal dance training, but you should know that's not Inuyasha's strongest suit."

Was that a headache she felt coming on? Rubbing her temples, she took a deep breath. Of course he'd be a terrible dancer. He was renowned for his Action/Adventure roles after all, not these sappy romances.

Giving the script one last glance, she handed it to Koga. "Alright. I'm as ready as I'm gonna be. Give me a few minutes to work with Inuyasha first to get warmed up."

"I knew you'd pull through for me! My woman always gets the job done!"

Kagome grimaced, watching as the wolf flounced off to bark orders to the stage hands. Picking up the script he left behind, she headed towards her partner for the next several hours.

He barely acknowledged her presence until she tapped him on the shoulder. Sliding one golden eye at her, he gruffly grunted at her. "Whattya want?"

Determined to be nice, she smiled sweetly. "I'm Kagome, Kikyo's fill in. I was hoping we could run the scene a couple of times before we got down to filming?"

Inuyasha considered her. Damn, she did look enough like Kikyo that the two could be twins. And yet, there was a warmth in Kagome's blue eyes that was inviting and sweet. Kikyo's hair was always flat-ironed to pin-straight perfection, while Kagome's hair was tousled and spilled in unkempt waves. So much so that he found himself wanting to reach out and see if it was as soft as it looked between his fingers.

And, her scent was entirely different. This small woman had a natural, earthy smell. He could almost taste the underlying tang of her sweat, with the delectable overlay of jasmine.

Turning to face her fully, he was surprised to realize that he was almost a full head taller than her. She tilted her head back to keep eye contact, quirking one eyebrow curiously before waving the script in his face.

"Earth to Inuyasha! I asked if we could run the scene before we started filming?"

Flustered, he snapped at her. "Keh! Fine- the sooner we're done the better!"

Kagome wondered what his problem was and then decided she didn't care. "The biggest thing for me is the dancing itself. We can always edit the film to make it seamless if Kikyo runs her lines first before I step in for the waltz. You can waltz, right?"

He nodded mutely. Encouraged, she stepped closer to him, holding her arms up as though she was touching an invisible dance partner. "Well then, show me what you've got."

Reluctantly, he filled the empty space in her arms, taking one of her tiny hands in his own. One of his large hands wrapped itself around her trim waist, and he found himself swallowing hard against the sudden dryness in his throat. Kagome started to count, encouraging him to take the lead. It struck him how easy it felt, taking the first step to glide across the hard cement floor with her. She followed him easily, almost naturally, matching his long strides perfectly. Her scent assaulted him again, all-too pleasantly. In fact, he felt the strangest urge to bury his face in her hair and just inhale. Weird.

The distracted thought caused him to stumble, and he heard her hiss as one of his feet landed directly on top of hers.

She grimaced and he apologized, flushing brightly. She was quick to reassure him. "No no, it's okay. I expected at least some mistakes. Let's just get you good enough for this scene okay?"

Watching their feet this time as they started again, Kagome coached him gently. "Shorten you stride a bit; like you're staying in one square. Yes, that's it! Good, okay, now let's try a dip..."

After a few more attempts, she grinned in triumph. "I think you're ready. That was actually superb! I'm so relieved! Now let's see if you can do it with the cameras on." She gave him a wink and wandered off to let Koga know she was ready. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and he found himself smiling as she hurried off to find their director.

Why did his heart stutter when she smiled at him? Why was he so fascinated watching her slim form weave away from him?

And above all, why did his arms feel incredibly empty when she stepped out of his grasp?

His thoughts were broken when Koga shouted at him. "Everyone on-set! We're ready for another take!"

Inuyasha made his way to to the snowy scene, swallowing thickly. Suddenly he was nervous. He shoved the feelings down as the cameras began rolling, the scene meant to be incredibly romantic as he'd just followed her outside from a party.

He was supposed to be looking at the lead actress wistfully, with yearning, as if she was the only thing he would ever want in the universe as she stood in the snowy garden. She would be gazing into the cloudy night sky, the snow gently fluttering about her.

Looking at Kagome, he felt something clench in his heart. She really was beautiful. Leaning against the railing prop, her eyelashes rested gently on her cheeks as the fake snow drifted across her upturned face. Even her cheeks were slightly flushed as though from the cold.

Inuyasha smiled slowly at her as he approached, amused when she jumped a little at his voice. "Dance with me?" He heard himself ask, repeating the lines from the script as he held out a hand. Lines that had sounded stiff and formal just a few hours ago suddenly flowed sensually from between his lips.

That tone, just an octave too deep sent a delicious shiver down her spine in response.

She smiled back and wordlessly placed her hand in his. Hastily memorized dialog passed between them as they danced. He pulled her closer as their cue was signaled, the director flashing a finger towards them. Now they moved on to the highlight of practically the whole movie. Suddenly his mouth went dry, heart hammering as his gaze dropped to her lips. Self-conscious, she nibbled her lower lip, pulling it between her perfect white teeth. He fought to keep the smirk off his face as he realized he was affecting her just as much as she affected him. Snaking one arm around her lower back, he dipped her gently backwards, hesitating only a moment before bringing his lips to hers.

In that instant, the world exploded behind his eyes, his grip on her tightening as she molded to him like a missing puzzle piece. Petal-soft and delicious, he wanted more and was thrilled when she parted her lips to allow him access. He felt her shiver as their kiss deepened, a spark he'd thought long-since dead roaring to life as his body responded to her of his own accord.

Kagome's mind was lost in a haze, barely registering the fact that her arms had looped themselves around his neck, drawing them even closer together than they already were. The heat of his sculpted physique pressed against her, sending titillating tremors shooting throughout her body.

She fought back a moan at his quiet, pleased growl against her lips, his tight grip the only thing holding her up as her knees turned to gelatin.

Gasping, he pulled away for air, snapping them both back to reality with matching bright red hues coloring their faces.

The script was entirely forgotten as he released her like she'd burnt him. His voice stammered as he glanced away from her sheepishly. "I-I'm sorry! I don't- I mean I've never..." He trailed off, sneaking a glance at her.

Touching her lips with wide eyes staring at him, she took a stumbling step back. "N-No, it was my fault, this whole thing was a mistake!"

With that, she fled the snowy scene.

Inuyasha watched her go, eyes filled with regret.

"AAND CUT!" Koga roared, smiling. "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! You improvised at the end, but it's even better with the changes!"

Golden eyes flicked towards the director, conflict swirling in their depths. On one hand, he was extremely relieved to have nailed the scene this time. On the other...

On the other he wanted to repeat that scene with Kagome as many times as possible. She'd tasted like heaven, and his fingers itched to explore more than just that trim little waist he'd held onto. Her passion had rivaled his, matching him in a way that left him breathless and wanting.

And that was just one kiss! One scripted kiss at that!

Concealing his swirling emotions, he flashed Koga a toothy grin before getting a victorious thumbs-up from his manager.

"That was great Inuyasha!" Miroku complimented. "I almost thought you weren't acting for a second there!

"Feh." he grunted, looking away as they stepped to the side of the studio, out of the way from the rest of the crew.

Miroku's eyes widened as a slow smile slithered gleefully across his face. "You weren't entirely acting with Kagome just now, were you?"

The red rising to the hanyou's face was all the answer he needed. He grinned, slapping Inuyasha on the back. "Well then, what's the problem? The rest of the movie will be smooth sailing! Just pretend Kikyou is Kagome, and everything will be fine. They look enough alike anyways!"

Inuyasha's glare could have frozen hell over. "They're nothing alike."

Holding his hands up in surrender, his manager had the grace to back away. "Okay Okay, they're not alike at all. I take it back!" When the actor stayed quiet and ran a frustrated hand through his hair, Miroku's sly smile returned. "You know, you COULD ask her out for dinner..."

Again those golden eyes shot towards him with barely restrained irritation, which only made his manager laugh this time. Flinging an arm around Inuyasha's shoulders, he guided his friend outside. "Let's get some lunch anyways. It's going to take a while to set up for the next scene- we probably have a solid 45 minutes and there's a taco truck..."

The white-haired hanyou tuned his friend out, allowing himself to be pulled away, his thoughts still focused on a dancer with the most beautiful blue eyes and softest lips he'd ever encountered.
