Marinette huffed heavily in frustration as she sluggishly tapped her pencil against her chin and sunk further into her hand that propped up her leaning head. Scribbles and erasing was a pattern she came to know frequently, not being able to pin her pencil on the words she wanted to express. Staring blankly ahead, she was caught in a trance of golden shimmers that reflected the sun's rays from the window. The gleam struck her eyes almost with a pain, but the beautiful shine made her unable to turn away. As she sat in her seat, caught in a wonderland of love, she spent the rest of her class period staring at the back of the boy's head that sat in front of her for inspiration for the one she actually loved.
She wrote without the pattern she came to know for a while and this caught the boy in front of her attention.
'What is this feeling? Was this jealousy? Of course it was! Who am I kidding, I want to know what she suddenly got the courage to right. I only wish it could be about me, but I'm sure another is on her mind…I could try to peak over and see if she wrote name down, but I doubt she did or Alya would be freaking out over it… I can't just glance over, I'd have to fully turn around in my chair to see, I guess I will just have to be patient.'
Adrien deeply loved the girl who sat behind him. Although it made him nervous knowing she could see his every move from the positions of their seatings, he was happy that she was at least sitting close to him. Now if he could just figure out what to write to her to express his feelings.
This was the week of love. Valentine's day was the upcoming Wednesday and the school was focusing on love themes. Their literature class that they were currently in, left them the rest of the period to write their loved one(s) a piece to express their love and the class oddly enough was intrigued with the assignment and was quiet in their own works.
While everyone seemed to be going at a good pace, Adrien was stuck. He had no clue what would be the perfect sequence of words to show his true feelings towards the one that stole his heart. Marinette. He sat there for most of the class day dreaming and trying his hardest to find even one sentence, but he could not.
By the end of the class period, everyone had left and only two remained glued in their seats, not wanting to disrupt their thoughts.
As Marinette wrote passionately away, not daring to lose her train of thought, Adrien stared frustrated at his paper. As he finally decided to give It some rest and figure it out at home his love got up frustratingly.
A huff, a sigh, a tear in the heart, she crumbled up and threw away her hard work with no ease to her stress. What Marinette desires most is for Chat Noir to notice her feelings for him are true, and that she isn't just flirting, but for some reason her attempts fail.
"What a waist.", The girl packs up her things and sadly tosses the ball of crumble into the bin that rest in the now empty class.
"Having a hard time too?", Adrien quirked at the depressed girl.
She gave a light huff as a laugh and returned to him with a sweet smile, "Who knew love was so hard to define?", she shrugged and continued out of the school.
Adrien was left with a peach blush that lingered on his warm cheeks as he smiled down at his paper and packed his things. As he was about to leave the door of the class he stopped himself to retrieve the crumbled paper that laid alone in the trashcan and left.
During his ride home, he unraveled the wrinkled mess and read what the midnight hair girl had to say about love.
"~ My love,
Your luminous golden hair blinds the world, it's as if the gates of heaven are allowing us mere humans to peer upon the wonders that lay beyond the great unknown. Your eyes embody the flowing seas of the velvety green grass that layer amongst the earth's terrain. Your touch is a plushness of mellow water surrounding a floating body lost at sea that is enclosed by comfort from the closeness it brings. Your smile is a warm sunray, hitting a spot just past the occurring shade of coolness that somehow is still enlightened by the vibrant light. You are everything a heart could yearn for when asking for love. Mine, I wish you could be, but to own such an ever-growing light as the sun is too far from reach. If only you, the sun, could see the wonders that lie behind something as small as the moon, like me. Amongst the sea of swimming bodies that you glance upon but are unable to familiarize with, is where I lay. And while I am able to be as close to you as close as a moon can get, your love, the earth, will always be what comes first. When the time comes, I will be waiting, for yours I will always be, orbiting around your everlasting light, for when the day comes that you decide to make me, a shadow, your light."
'She threw this away?', Adrien thought as he held the paper close to his chest and rested his head back on the seat to stare at the ceiling for the extent of the car ride.
So this is my first attempt at writing anything love letter related, sorry if it is bad
