Hey guys! I know it's been too long, sorry. Anyways, I will update A New Life soon. I have the chapter written, I just need to type it. For now, I hope this is satisfactory. I got the prompt off of a generator on tumblr. So here we go!
Prompt: Kai and Lloyd as children playing together.
Rating: K+
Kai and his sister Nya were outside playing in the field behind their dad's blacksmith shop. They ran around playing lion and prey where Nya would hide in the tall grass and Kai would try to find her and tackle her. Nya stood up when their mother called for her to come help do the laundry. Kai pouted as his sister went inside. He'd been so close to getting her too.

Lloyd bounced up and down with excitement. Today his dad was going to finally let him go to the surface world! After living completely in the underworld with only skeletons to play with, the blond boy was happy to finally see more people like himself. Maybe he'd make some friends. He followed the escort to a break in the rocks.
"Go ahead kid," the skeleton said," I'll be waiting here fro when you're done up there and I'll tell you when to come back if you're over time."
Lloyd eagerly nodded and ran up the rocky staircase to the surface. He quickly slid the key he'd been given into a slit in the stone. The wall opened up and he had to cover his eyes due to the sight of the sun. He stepped out into the warm air and took a deep breath before opening his eyes. When he did he gasped. The surface world was beautiful! The sky was blue with thin, wispy clouds. There was tall golden green grass all around the hillside he'd come out of. He could also see some buildings that looked like a village quite close by. There was also another kid in the grassy field.
The other boy had just stood up as Lloyd looked over. He was short with spiky brown hair and wore a red t-shirt. At that moment he happened to turn around and locked eyes with Lloyd. Those eyes. They were almost an unnatural, yet strikingly beautiful amber gold color that made Lloyd think they were staring into his soul. The kid cocked his head to the left a bit in confusion before making his way over to Lloyd.
"Hey! I've never seen you before! Who are you?" he asked.
"My name's Lloyd. I'm eleven years old. Gonna be twelve in six months (1). Who are you?" Lloyd asked.
"My name's Kai. I just turned eleven," the boy said. Then he smiled.
"Wanna play? My sister's busy so I'm bored," Kai said. Lloyd eagerly nodded.

Both boys taught each other some games that the other hadn't known before and they'd had so much fun playing things like tag and hide from the undead. Now they were lying on their backs and looked up at the sky that was slowly darkening.
"Hey I was wondering, where'd you come from? I know everyone here and no one new moved in nearby. And where's your family?" Kai asked while turning his head to look at Lloyd. The blond twisted around to look at his new friend. His dad had told him not to say anything about his home, but he felt like he could trust Kai.
"Well actually, I live in the underworld with my dad. This is the first time I've ever been to the surface," he said. Kai laughed and said," That's cool!" Then Lloyd remembered.
"Oh yeah! Dad said to be home before dark!," he sat up and helped Kai up. Then he headed towards the hillside.
"Huh? Wait!" Kai said, " Stay here. I gotta get something and I'll be right back." Then he dashed off into his house. Lloyd looked nervously at the rocky slope and the sky. He hoped Kai would get back before the guard came. Then the brunette came running and held up what looked like a fancy knotted string.
"It's a friendship bracelet," Kai said and tied it securely around Lloyd's wrist. It was a simple square knot bracelet made of red, green, and gold string with the gold and red bordering the main green center. Kai held out a matching one with red in the middle and gold and green on the sides.
"Tie this one on my wrist," he instructed and Lloyd did so, " Now never take this off okay? It's a sign of our friendship." Lloyd nodded and Kai hugged him. The boy was surprised at first but returned the hug. Then he took out his key and slipped it into a crevice in the rocks. A passage opened up. As Lloyd turned to go in Kai grabbed his arm.
"You'll come back right?" he asked. Lloyd smiled.
"Of course I will!" he said and hurried into the tunnel as it closed. Kai stood there quietly and ran back home when his mom called for him to come to dinner.

Everyday, Kai went back to the hillside, trying to find a way to where Lloyd had gone, but to no avail.
"You said you'd come back. You promised," he said while leaning against the rocky slope," Tell my mom I say hi if you see her," he said quietly as he stood up and walked away, passing a cherry tree with a grave stone under it.

-6 years later-
"Underworld? Lord Garmadon? What?" Kai asked the old man in front of him in shock. The man then trained him to be a ninja in order to save his sister.
Later on he and his friends met Lord Garmadon's son, Lloyd. Something about the kid seemed really familiar to Kai. Then one night he remembered. His parents had always told him he'd imagined it all. But the bracelet he still wore said different. And one day, after the whole Tomorrow's Tea incident, he saw something.
"Hey Lloyd, what's that?" he asked. During training he'd seen it but he just wanted to confirm his suspicions.
"What's what?" the blond teen asked. Kai simply pointed at the worn out bracelet on the other's wrist. Lloyd looked down at it and smiled.
"My first real friend gave this to me a long time ago," he looked up and locked eyes with Kai," I'm glad to see you still wear yours." Kai pulled Lloyd into a hug, burying hid face in the taller boy's shoulder (2).
"It really is you! I knew you weren't just my imagination all those years ago," the brunette said as silent tears began to fall," You promised you'd come back."
"But I did come back in time. It just had to be the right moment," then he gently pressed his lips to Kai's, who returned the kiss.
"Besides," Lloyd said as he pulled away," I'd know your eyes anywhere. They shine bight like the fire you are."
And thus rekindled the fire of a relationship once forgotten, but now was to be forever remembered.
1- In this story I went with a headcannon I have that time moves slower in the Underworld, so Lloyd living there would've aged slower. In this story I had it at one Underworld month= one surface world year.
2- I like Lloyd being taller than Kai X3
So yeah like, love, hate? Want this to be like a weekly thing? Let me know in the reviews please! I love feedback!
