Chapter Three: Who's the Lucky Guy?
"Ms. Alice! Can I see your ring?" asked a girl from her class. Actually, the majority of the girls were huddling around Alice to look at her engagement ring. It was already lunch break and the majority of the class came back to examine Alice's beautiful engagement ring. But, the big question no one asked was who was this lucky guy?
"Okay, okay, calm down guys! It's just a ring, you'll all have a chance to see it later after school," said Alice. She smiled as some of the girls looked in awe at the sparkling ring. Alice seemed to glow as students took notice of her engagement.
"Now, let's get started, lunch is over!" said Alice, clapping her hands. Everyone grumbled as they got back to their seats. Julius felt gloomier than ever. I don't understand why I feel this way… she's just engaged… just engaged…
Julius buried his head into his arms which were on the desk. Gray took notice of him and nudged his arm.
"Julius," whispered Gray. Julius didn't budge and ignored Gray.
"Julius," whispered Gray. Still, Julius didn't move. Nightmare sighed and raised his hand. "Ms. Alice!"
Alice stopped writing on the chalkboard and turned her attention towards Nightmare. "Yes Nightmare?"
"Julius isn't feeling too well," he said. Alice made an "o" and walked over to Julius.
"Are you not feeling well Julius?" Alice stood in front of him and made a worried expression. This time, Julius sat straight up, but turned his face away from Alice. "I'm fine." His cheeks were slightly red as he was embarrassed from being close to Alice.
Alice put her hand on his forehead and gently touched his cheeks. "Hmm… you feel a bit warm," she commented. The guys and girls in the class began to chatter.
"He's so lucky," muttered one guy. The guys were jealous of how Julius was getting special attention from Alice and how she touched his face.
"Why couldn't we be like Ms. Alice? Then we could touch Julius," muttered a few other girls. It seems like Alice was working her magic causing uproar within the class.
"Peter, can you take Julius to the infirmary?" asked Alice she turned towards Peter who had hearts in his eyes. He's had the same crush many of the other guys had on Alice since he first laid eyes on her. Peter jumped for joy when he got into her class.
"Yes Ms. Alice!" He said with delight. He quickly grabbed Julius's arms and dragged him out of the room. Peter didn't want to disappoint Ms. Alice.
"Now, let's continue the lesson," said Alice. She continued writing on the chalkboard. Gray stared at her. "What kind of charm do you have Ms. Alice?" he wondered. He stared so much that Alice noticed.
"Is something wrong Gray?" she asked. Gray shook his head and snapped out of his daze. "Um, no, nothing's wrong," he mumbled.
Nightmare chuckled. "You are very similar to Julius, Gray," Nightmare whispered. Gray scowled and threw an eraser at Nightmare's head before writing the notes that Alice wrote on the chalkboard.
"Julius?" Peter was literally dragging Julius to the infirmary.
"Julius?" Peter was getting tired and couldn't carry Julius any longer. "JULIUS!" Julius finally looked up and stood on his own two feet.
"Oh, sorry about that," he mumbled.
Peter laughed. "It seems like Mr. Popular is disappointed," he joked. Julius blushed. "What are you talking about?"
"Hm… nothing," he smiled. They walked in silence to the infirmary. "Well, hope you feel better Julius!" Peter smiled again.
Ugh… his smile is starting to irritate me… is it just for Ms. Alice?
Peter slammed the door shut and Julius sighed heavily. "What am I doing?" he muttered.
"Sensei, I just need to lie down. I'm feeling a bit dizzy," said Julius, lying about his condition. He was just feeling down after hearing about Alice's engagement.
"Sensei?" No one responded. It seems like the nurse was out. "Oh well," he said. Julius took the nearest infirmary bed and lay down, thinking about why Alice's engagement made him feel so depressed. Usually when one gets married, everyone else around that person is happy for him or her.
Suddenly, Julius heard two girls talking outside the hallway. They were only juniors, but hearing them mention Alice's name suddenly made Julius interested.
"How do you know about Ms. Alice anyways?" asked the girl with brown hair.
"I heard about it from Peter!" said the girl with short wavy hair.
"Ohh… but I thought she only teaches seniors Crysta," said the girl with brown hair.
"That's why I hope we can get into her class next year Ai!" replied Crysta.
Julius scoffed as he listened to the girls' conversation. It was merely just an aspiration to have Alice as a teacher. But before he went back to the infirmary bed, Ai, the one with brown hair, suddenly talked about Alice's engagement.
"And you know what? I heard that Alice is going to be engage to someone's older brother!" squealed Ai.
"What? A girl here? Which girl?" asked Crysta.
"I heard that it's Vivaldi's older brother," whispered Ai.
"No way! Really? That means Alice and Vivaldi will be sister-in-laws! That's actually cool," said Crysta. Julius suddenly felt lightheaded. Vivaldi's older… brother? She has an older brother? What?!
Julius slammed the infirmary door open causing the two girls to jump in surprise.
"Julius senpai?" cried Crysta. She started fangirling over Julius. "Oh! We didn't mean to bother you! Were we too loud?"
But, Julius ignored the two girls and ran off.
"Hmph, boys are useless," muttered Vivaldi. It was home economics and Boris burnt the cake.
"Well, at least the cake cooked faster!" said Boris. He scratched his head nonchalantly and yawned. "We can just cover the burnt parts with frosting and it'll look a-ok."
Vivaldi huffed. "NO! It's your fault that you set the oven too high! It was only supposed to bake at 350 degrees, not 500 degrees, you idiot!" Vivaldi and Boris's teammates sweat dropped as the two continued arguing.
Suddenly everyone in the home economics class heard the door slam open and noticed it was Julius.
"Julius-senpai!" The girls squealed and waved to Julius.
"What's Julius doing here?" muttered Boris. He didn't really hate Julius, but didn't like him either. Julius always managed to win all the girls' hearts for best looking guy.
"Vivaldi, may I speak with you?" said Julius in his most formal student council tone. The girls aw'd for Julius only came to the class to speak with Vivaldi for student council stuff. "This better be a good reason to take me out of class Julius. We were baking a cake and it needs to be fixed now!"
"Just follow me," he grunted. Vivaldi sighed and took off her apron. "You cat. You better fix this cake while I'm gone! And you guys!" She pointed to her other teammates. "Don't even try helping this idiot. Let him fix it himself and if I see you guys helping him—" Vivaldi made a slit motion at her throat "—you guys are dead too."
After finishing her threat she followed Julius outside in a more private area of the hallway.
"It seems like you haven't changed at all Vivaldi," muttered Julius. He noted her queenly and violent personality.
"Well, I'm not like them," she replied. But it was true. She was also a daughter of a famous fashion company so it was hard to look down or even talk back to her.
"But, back to the topic. Why did you take me out of class?" she asked.
"Do you have a brother?"
"What?"
Julius sighed and didn't want to ask again. "I said, do you have a brother?"
"Brother? Ew, I do, but what does that have to—" Julius cut her off.
"What? You have a brother?"
Vivaldi rubbed her temples as she felt a headache come along. "Yes, I have an older brother. But he's like 8 years older than you Julius and he's annoying as hell. About 26 years old, I think," trying to remember her brother's age.
Julius looked at her in disbelief. "Is your brother getting married?"
Vivaldi looked at him with suspicion. "How do you know that? He only announced it last week to us. Well, including his fiancé's family. Wait, wait, wait! What does have to do with student council?"
"It doesn't. But who is she?"
"Her name is Alice and she's really pretty, I can't believe she decided to teach at a school. School is such a filthy place filled with perverted men. She should've been a model at least. She has the looks," said Vivaldi.
Julius smacked his forehead. She IS a teacher at OUR school…
"Never mind, thanks anyways," he said. With that he left quickly.
It was already 5 p.m. and Julius just finished his duties with the student council.
"Who knew Alice would be engaged to that 'thing's' older brother," muttered Peter. He disliked Vivaldi's horrendous attitude towards boys or any living thing in general.
Julius stayed quiet as Gray walked beside him. "Everything alright?" he asked. Julius just shook his head. "Just tired."
"Oh there's Ms. Alice," said Gray. He pointed to the young woman sitting on the benches. Julius controlled his facial expression. Maybe we can talk again like old times…
Before any of the guys could call out to her, they saw a dashing, handsome man approach Alice. "Blood, thanks for picking me up," said Alice.
"No problem, I wanted to see you as soon as I got off from work," he said seductively. Alice blushed.
The next thing that Blood did made all three guy's mouths drop open.
