My former resolve crumbles beneath the pressure of my primitive terror. I run. Quickly, quickly! He's fast; you can't keep him away long. A page! No! Don't touch it! They only give him more incentive to pursue you. My heart pounds in harmony with my throbbing head. He won't play long; not this time. He isn't interested in games. I have something. He wants to take it from me. Why? Should I give it to him? NO! He can't have it! I will die to preserve this thing of mine, this death ticket that I love. But what is it?

"Willow!" My head snapped up and I glanced around myself, my eyes finally resting on Alex, who was currently looming over me. Yeah, she didn't look too happy. "You look like a damn zombie," she said flatly. I cringed as I cracked my neck, noticing that the room was practically empty. "School let out like 5 minutes ago, but I had to come back to wake you up." I stood slowly and began to gather my books as Alex sighed.

"Are you doing okay Skully? You've been out of it since Monday." I looked at her and forced a grin. "Yup! Everything's fine and dandy." Alex scrutinized me for a while before turning to the door. "Don't lie, Skully. It's unbecoming." I glowered at her retreating back before following after her.

"You gonna tell me what your problem actually is now?" Alex asked as we dodged the human missiles in an attempt to reach my locker. "It's nothing, Alex," I grunted out as someone nearby mercilessly jabbed their elbow into me. "Just some bad dreams is all."

I fidgeted outside the perimeter of the forest trail I usually walk down to get home. I'm normally completely at ease in and around the forest, but after recent events I was, obviously, feeling a little paranoid about going in there. I sighed. Maybe I should just ask Alex to walk me home. "But you already asked her every other day this week…"

Standing straight to face the terror that is the forest, I pulled out my Ipod and pushed a random select button. I stuck in my earbuds, cranked the volume way up, and began to walk. "Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree?" I murmured along with the song. There were probably better songs to play when one was in such a situation. Maybe one that wasn't so… creepy. This one put me on edge no matter where I am. "Travel the world and the seven seas…" I said it like a prayer against whatever may lurk in this forest.

"Everybody's looking for something…" My eyes flitted from one place to the next erratically. "Some of them want to use you…" my voice warbled slightly as this passed my lips. "Some of them want to get used by you…" I felt a breeze brush my cheek, "Some of them want to abuse you…" Everything seemed to close in around me as the light was sucked from my surroundings. "Some of them want to be abused."

Shadows immediately filled the space around me, menacing and intimidating in their own sly, quiet way. I turned about in a panic as my music turned to static. "No way, no way. That never actually happened, He can't be here now!" I yelled to the darkness as I ripped out my earbuds. I risked a glance at the screen, only to see the Operator symbol displayed menacingly across it. My heart drummed so hard I thought it would break through my ribcage, leaving me me shattered and broken on the forest floor.

I ran, trying to outrun this menace. But how can you escape something that is everywhere? In the air you breath and the shadows around you. The path never seemed to end no matter how fast I ran. And all the while the forest was getting darker and darker, the light and life being sucked from it mercilessly.

Yes! More cliffhangers! Why? Mostly because I'm a lazy A-hole, I guess. Derp there were supposed to be more words there… and then they just weren't. *Sigh* Review maybe?
