Sango stared in the direction Kagome and Shippo ran, a sad, concerned expression adorning her face. After a moment of standing like this, she sighed and turned toward the camp, thinking it would be best to give Kagome time to cool off. What could happen?
"Kagome! Wait for me!" Shippo was out of breath. How long had they been running?
Kagome ignored Shippo's cry for her to wait. She wanted to get to the well, except she didn't know where it was or where she is. After a few more moments of running, Kagome stopped and sat on a large rock, panting and tired. She scanned the surrounding area for Shippo and any threats. She began to feel a bit of panic when she realized, Shippo wasn't behind her anymore. She quickly got up and began running back in the direction she had come. Her heart racing.
"Shippo?!" She called. After a while of no answers she found a sign of where Shippo could be, but it wasn't good. She followed some broken branches down a narrow beaten down path. Signs of a struggle were apparent. Eventually the branches led her to a clearing and in the middle of it was Shippo. Lying motionless in the grass with a large demon looming over him. "Shippo!"
Kagome didn't think, her feet propelled her toward the grotesque looking bear demon. She had no weapons and no real way to protect herself or Shippo. The demon launched himself at her with rapid, uncoordinated movements.
Kagome and the demon clashed, but the bear demon clawed at her, leaving five giant gashes on her ribs. She was bleeding heavily and she had no form of protection. Kagome lie on the ground bleeding with the demon on top of her, acidic drool pouring from the demon's mouth. The acid burning Kagome's pale, smooth skin, causing red blisters to form. As the demon's face inched closer, her panic began to rise to new heights. How was she going to get out of this mess? Everything was beginning to fade…
