Two chapter update? Two chapter update.
"Do you think I should give up?"
Kagome paused in her work, her essay on the use of paralytic agents in potions becoming second as James Potter settled into the chair in front of her. She held back a smile as he visibly sulked, even crossing his arms to hug himself.
"Give up on what?" She indulged.
They weren't exactly that close but their random talks with one another warranted a closer relationship than acquaintances.
"On her. Lily Evans," There was a particular sigh in his tone as he said her name.
Oh.
Immediately she thought back to a silver-haired boy, having to physically shake her head to clear that thought away. If there was anything she learned from that disaster was to find out what part of the relationship or guy you liked.
"Well, are you chasing her because you like her or the chase for her?"
Azure eyes bore into a pair of memorable emeralds, challenging the uncertainty in them.
He seemed taken aback by her direct question.
She could sympathize with him and hoped for his own happiness that he liked Lily for being Lily.
'And yet...'
The smallest spark of hope lingered in her.
But it was enough to pull a feeling of guilt.
Passing the now deep-in-thought Potter a sad smile, Kagome quietly packed her belongings away. She wanted to know the answer just as much as he did, but for her own sake she chose to walk away.
Kagome squeezed the leather strap of her bag, taking one last look over her shoulder. The same green eyes trapped her once again.
'Should I give up on you?'
