Dissociation. That was the best word he could think of to describe the current situation he found himself; Or one very crazy nightmare.

Back to what was before him at the present moment. Some how he was above his physical body, above David applying pressure to his darken chest, above Jim hovering over with a radio shouting orders frantically into it. He stared into his own lifeless blue eyes that were half closed and glazed over.

Was he dead?

Sirens arrived, flashing red and blue everywhere. Four cop cars surrounded the area, followed by an ambulence. It was in face a very big deal that a criminalist was shot at the scene. A scene that was suppose to be cleared before he even arrived.

Chaos, was how he would best describe the next few moments. His fellow collegues -Jim and David- were roughly pushed aside by the paramedics as they attended to his own physical body. A blur of noises that he couldn't focus on, but could only imagine it being as medical jargon. Without hast the paramedics loaded his body onto a gurney, rushing it to the back of the ambulence and leaving quickly.

Soon all that was left was a pool of his blood sitting next to the original victim.

With a low groan he opened his eye lids with some effort. They felt like they had weights on them that were near impossible to lift. White lights blinded him at first, but slowly his eyes adjusted. He felt a tube in his mouth, coursing down his throat. Why was he inubated?

"Oh thank god you are awake!" This was a different voice then the two times before. Not Sara; but female. What other females did he know? Catherine? Yes, It had to be Catherine.

He searched with his eyes around to find the cherry blonde CSI that was nearly his own age. A glimmer of recognition was in his eyes as he rested upon her worried filled ones. He had not felt quite as disoriented as before, but a fog was still there.

"You had trouble breathing, and before the nurses even got to you; you had stopped. They were force to inubate you." Catherine answered his unvoiced question. He closed his eyes in fatigue. He felt like he had just worked a triple shift without sleep, but he had just awoken not even a minute ago.

"I got Sara to go home and clean up and grab something to eat. She was almost looking worse then you." She stifled a small chuckle as Grissom reopened his eyelids a millimeter.
