Worthless, waste of space...oh how cruel a beautiful world can become. How much she wished everything was like a fairytale...it's a shame. A dark space void from anything. Like if the very world was obliterated, nothing grew, nobody laughed and no one loved.

"Why am I here", asked a voice.

"You should know why you are here and not there", a deep voice depleted of emotion answered the question from the ball of gas.

"Where are you!? Can you tell me where I am!?",said the bright white ball of gas.

"I am just like you, I have no gender. I am not important, I am nothing, we are dead."

"What are you talking about? Stop playing around, and tell me where I am!" Confused, angry, and hurt, the ball of gas did not know what to do with such emotions.

The deep voice, replied with the same words he always had when newcomers arrived, "You who rejected life has no reason to complain."

"Rejected life? What are you talking about!? I'm alive, I am going to college, I have a job, I have people who love me! I do not belong here so send me back!"

"Look for yourself." said the voice to the ball of gas as a mirror appears in the middle of the space.

Walking to the mirror, the ball of white gas realized the truth. "I can't see myself...why can't I see myself..."

"You killed yourself. This is the afterlife for someone who commits a sin this great. Have fun."

A door replaced the place where the mirror stood with the words 'Exit' engraved on the plank of wood without support.

"WAIT, WHAT DO I DO NOW?" she cried in horror and panic.

No response.

Once this thing that calls herself human walks through the door she is presented with the world. The beautiful world that she was used to, the world that she loves.

Walking around the city sidewalk like the rules of the mortals still applied to her, she heard the cries of a kitten. Looking around she found the creature in a box. It was the healthiest creature among the rest and breathed the breaths the others could not. It cried the meows that the 2 other kittens beside her could not.

The ball of invisible matter reached to pet the cat but, its soft orange fur could not be felt. Her hand only went through the living creature only proving the fact that she really is nothing.

She tried the gesture again only for the same result, no matter how many times she tried it was true. She no longer exists in this world she called her own. An invisible being that loved but will never receive such love again.

She sat by the kitten not being able to do anything, except watch as life slowly escape from the innocent being.

She, who not came to terms how she is not a she but an it, spent days, never counting when days became months or years. It spent its life sad, now realizing why it decided to take its own life in the first place. It saw people being murdered for the sake a greed and the lives of families being torn apart because of the second lives that others lived.

Finally, it saw the light in the eyes disappear when someone decided to take their own life as well. Even though it never met any others like it. It wished them a good luck and prayed to the stars that they would never encounter the same things as It did. Though, there were also beautiful things that were encountered. Those were the things it wanted to focus on the most as it saw a couple's first kiss, a cute baby being born and the happiness in her living family's eyes on Christmas day.

Her previous world was like oil and water and the man who brought flowers to her grave everyday was her water.

"Charlotte, honey, wake up. Your alarm rang." A man kissed her cheek as she awoke from her slumber.

Puzzled, Charlotte turned to Nathan and asked, "I know this sounds weird but, if I were to die...would you leave flowers at my grave? "

Nathan gave a quick chuckle and embraced her, his kind warmth transferring to her cold core, "That is a weird question, and the answer is yes. Every day." His words like an ice cream cone, sweet and melty.

"Now get ready, you don't want to be late for that English class you have at 9:00am." He said as he fiddled with the ring on his left ring finger.
