Episode 3

'Please don't let her notice me, please don't let her notice me, please don't...'

"Hi there."

'Fuck.' Blade thought putting on a fake smile and looking up at the person he now stood next to in the elevator.

"Hi."

"I've never seen you around here before, you're new?" Blade nodded, while the girl smiled. This girl had dark red-orange curly hair that were up in two big puffs and freckles. Her were eyes dark brown and she smiled.

"My name's Princess, Princess Morebucks." She introduced herself not taking the hint that Blade was ignoring her.

"I live on the fifth floor." As she said this, the elevator doors opened on her floor.

"So if you need anything..." She winked, purposely not finishing her sentence as she walked out. Blade getting the shivers as the doors closed.

...

A minute later, Blade found himself walking down the steps of the apartment building. His brothers waiting next to the moving van, the back door of it closed. Blaster sat by Butch and barked when Blade came into view.

"Finally." Butch exclaimed as Blade stood in front of them. He took the leash as Butch passed it to him. Boomer came into view, coming from around the van. He threw Blade a small smile as a way of saying hi.

"What time are you guys coming back."

"I don't know, like 12:00 probably later." Brick told him.

"What? You said you were going out to eat."

"Yeah." Butch smiled, as they walked off to the Red 2013 Hyundai Sonata that belonged to Brick.

"Good luck on your date." Boomer whispered to him as he continued to the car. Blade shook his head as he walked back to the building.

Meanwhile...

"Hey BC."

"What?"

"When are you going to tell me about what happened with you and Butch?"

"Um...Nothing really, I started to play around but then his brother came before I could do anything."

EARLIER!

"I'm sorry I didn't...you just look like a girl I knew." Butch laughed. Buttercup smiled nervously at him as she stood up straight. The van started to rock a little, two guys stood behind Butch, who turned and smiled.

"Hey." He said giving the blonde one a brotherly hug and the red headed one a fist bump. Blaster barked, happily at the two as well. Buttercup cleared her throat catching the attention of Butch, who then introduced them.

"Buttercup, my brothers Brick and Boomer. Brick and Boomer, my neighbor Buttercup." He said jumping off the truck soon after and hooked Blaster's leash to his collar and got a grip on the leash to make sure the German Shepard wouldn't get away.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Buttercup greeted with a wave and small smile. Brick nodded his head slightly with a close smile and Boomer said hi back with the a same close smile as Brick. Buttercup passed them with Thunder behind her and got off the van.

"Well, I best get out of your way. I'll see you later. And have fun with getting all that into your apartment." She laughed a little before walking away towards the building. Buttercup getting the feeling of someone watching her from behind not too long after. Butch.

PRESENT!

"That's pretty much it."

"Oh, okay."

"What's wrong, you sound disappointed." Buttercup said looking at Blaze, who took a sip of her ice water.

"Kind of, I thought you were going to do something." She said, shrugging her shoulders. Buttercup rolled her eyes and went back to her phone.

"I'm going to take Lightening for a walk, I'll be back soon." Blaze told Buttercup, hooking the leash to Lightening's collar.

"Okay, I'm going to my room. Come on Thunder." Buttercup said walking away. Blaze walked out the door, not forgetting to close and lock the door behind her.

*Ding*

"Hey."

"Hey." Blaze smiled widely, seeing Blade exit the elevator.

"Um, isn't that the other dude's dog?" She asked trying to start a conversation.

"Yeah, I have to watch him until he gets back."

"Really? When is he coming back?"

"I don't know, somewhere around twelve or later." He muttered.

"Oh...Does that mean?"

"Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. If my brother gave a fuck about me going on a date this would be a different conversation." Blade chuckled rubbing the back of his head. Blaze giggled a little.

"It's okay, but it doesn't mean we still can't have our date." Blaze said, Blade giving her a confuse expression.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, maybe...I can come over later." She suggested, biting her bottom lip. Blade raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"Oh, really?"

"Just so we can talk, you know get to know each other like you would on a first date. Nothing else." She laughed nervously, thinking she gave him the wrong idea.

"That sounds like a good idea, I guess I'll see you at eight then." He smirked, Blaze showed him a small smile as she giggled.

"I guess you will." She told him before walking over to the elevator. She pressed the button and it soon opened, Blade unlocking his apartment door. She looked at him from the corner of her eye before walking into the elevator with a smile on her face.

SOMETIME LATER...

"BLAZE I'M HUNGRY!" Buttercup yelled, walking down the hall to where her little sister's bedroom was.

"Order some pizza." Blaze told her as she tied her sneakers.

"Where are you going?" Buttercup asked, folding her arms.

"Date."

"With who?"

"No one that concerns you." Blaze told her as she walked out her room.

"It's with Blade isn't it?" Buttercup guessed laughing a bit as she followed Blaze down the hall and to the kitchen.

"And what if it is?"

"Seriously, you just met him after like what 3-4 years of him being gone. I mean, geez, give the guy time to move in." Buttercup laughed as she walked out to the couch.

"Hey, he asked me out and plus I still kind of like him." She giggled with a little blush. Buttercup laughed after giving a sarcastic awe. Blaze rolled her eyes and left, going across the hall and knocking on Blade's and Butch's door.

"Wait, I'm still hungry." Buttercup pouted, sticking her head out the door.

"I told you to order some pizza."

"I don't want any pizza."

"Then go out and eat."

"By myself?"

"Buttercup."

"Ugh, fine. I'll order pizza, but I'm eating it all without you." Buttercup muttered as she closed the door.

"Uh-huh." Blaze hummed as she waited for Blade to open the door. She knocked again and frowned when no one answered. She reached for her phone, patted her pockets only to find that she left it in her room.

"Damn, I forgot my ph..." The door opened revealing Blade with disheveled hair and his shirt in hand.

"...one."

"Hey." He smiled.

"H-He...Hi." She greeted back after stumbling over her words and clearing her throat.

"Come in." He invited, moving aside so she could enter. Blaze gave him a smile before she walked in, greeted by Blaster and Shadow. The two barking happily as they welcomed her.

"Sorry about this, I came out the shower not too long ago, so."

"It's okay, nothing to worry about." She said before she found herself staring. Blade smirked and put his shirt on.

"I guess this is the beginning of our date, huh?" Blaze said, clearing her throat and took a seat on the couch.

"Yeah." He smiled, taking a seat on the couch too.

"So where do we start off?" Blaze raised her eyebrow, having some questions in mind.

MANY HOURS LATER!

Blade and Blaze's laughter filled the apartment, the clock ticked and showed that it was five minutes after 11:30. The two had been chatting for hours and loved every minute of it. They still asked questions about each other, which soon turned into conversations on the subject that one of them would ask about.

RRRIIINNNGGG!

The two stopped talking and looked at each other with confused looks. The faint sound of someone's phone is what interrupted them.

RRRIIINNNGGG!

"Um, I think that's your phone." Blaze said holding back a giggle.

"I think it is. Um...hold on I'll be right back." He said getting up.

"Kay." Blaze said sweetly, giving him a small smile as he walked away. Blaze was left alone, with nothing to do. She glanced at the clock above the stand where the nonexistent TV was.

"I didn't realize it was so late." She mumbled, her stomach growling afterward. She blushed lightly, remembering she hadn't eat since lunch. She brushed her bangs out her eyes and looked around some more. The dogs had already fallen asleep and the lights in the apartment were dimmed down a little.

"Wow, didn't really notice that before." She said still looking at the dim lights. She then set her eyes on Blade who came back, stuffing his phone in his back pocket.

"Who was it?"

"Wrong number."

"Oh."

"And I realized how late it was so I ordered some Chinese food, if that's okay." He told her as he headed to the kitchen.

"Yeah, it's alright." She smiled as she got up and walked the kitchen as well. She stuck her hands in her back jean pockets as she stood by the island and looked at Blade, who opened up the fridge.

"Want something to drink?" He asked looking up at her with a smile.

"What do you have?"

"Root beer, Sprite, Mountain Dew, and water."

"I'll take the Root beer please." She laughed. He took out two Root Beers and passed one to Blaze. They opened the cans in unison.

"Cheers." Blade laughed as they took a drink.

*Bang, Bang, Bang!*

Both of them jumped when a surprisingly loud knock came to the door. Blade walked out the kitchen and went to answer the door. When he opened it he raised an eyebrow at an angry Buttercup and a sad Lightening, who whimpered.

"Who is it?" Blaze said coming into view. Lightening ran in pass Blade, almost making him trip. She barked twice loudly and happily, Blaze having to kneel down and quiet her.

"She wouldn't shut up until she got what she wanted. Your dog is so fucking spoiled." Buttercup said, stomping back across the hall. She slammed the door behind her, the sound of it echoing down the hall.

"Okay." Blade said closing and locking the door back. Blaze stood back up once she got Lightening to calm down.

"What's wrong with her?"

"She just missed me is all." She laughed, patting Lightening on the head.

"So, she whines until she gets what she wants?"

"Not all the time. She just does it when she really wants something. Other times she'll just stare at you until you give it to her." Blaze told him, laughing. He laughed along before he took another drink of his Root beer. Lightening, who wasn't very interested with the two right now, walked over to the two dogs who were sound asleep and started to nudged Shadow.

"Lightening, stop." Blaze frowned once she saw what her husky was trying to do. Blade chuckled and took another swing at his root beer. Lightening nudged Shadow again, successfully waking him up this time. Shadow lifted his head and yawned, seeing his owner first, stared at Blaze second. And wasn't fully awoken until Lightening came into view. Shadow stood up and stretched before greeting Lightening with one bark.

"I don't think it's you she missed." Blade laughed as he looked down at her. She looked right back up at him with frown and her arms folded. Lightening laid down and closed her eye falling asleep, Shadow laying his head down on top of her before going back to sleep.

"They're getting along great." Blade laughed before heading back to kitchen.

"If my dog becomes pregnant tomorrow, I'm punching you." She cutely threatened, Blade only laughing more in response.

*Knock, knock, knock!*

"God, I hope that's the Chinese food." Blade mumbled as he walked to the door. And to his delight it was. He smiled and paid for the food, telling the delivery person to have a nice night before closing the door. He walked back to the kitchen and sat the food on the counter.

"You know what would make this better?"

"A movie." Blade said with a smirk.

"Yup, too bad you guys don't have your TV yet." She pouted.

"There's one in my room." He said, surprising her.

"Really?"

"Yeah. But I mean, if your comfortable with going in there. You know, it being our first date and all." He smirked. Blaze rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Alright."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, come on. It's just a movie." Blade laughed and grabbing the food and leading the way to his room. Blaze entered first, Blade after and as soon as his door closed the front door opened. Stumbling in was a drunk Butch, a half drunken Brick and a sober Boomer.

The two boys with alcohol in their system fell to the ground, Butch laughing and Brick groaning as he rolled over on his back. Boomer chuckled at his two older brothers before leaving to find his baby brother.

"Blade!" Boomer yelled down the hall not knowing which room was his brothers. Five seconds later the door opened and Blade stuck his head out, only to roll his eyes out of disappoint knowing what was happening. He went back into his room, coming back out a minute later.

"Hi."

"Hi, Why are you home early?" He asked quickly.

"It's 11:56,"

"Brick said 12 or later." Boomer gave him a frowned that changed into an expression of realization. Boomer smirked and looked at Blade who glared.

"She's here isn't she." Boomer said with a chuckle. Blade huffed and gave him a look of annoyance. Boomer just smiled and patted him on the back.

"Come help me with Brick and Butch." Boomer said, walking over to the boys who still laid on the floor. Boomer picked up Butch and Blade, Brick. Blade led the way to Butch's room, where they laid them side by side on his bed.

"One day you guys are going to get in trouble with this underage drinking crap." Blade frowned.

"No, they're going to get in trouble. Do I look drunk to you?"

"Doesn't prove anything, you could have drunk something." Blade mumbled as they walked.

"Trust me, I didn't drink anything." Boomer said, pulling out his phone.

"So what now?"

"I'm going to see if my girlfriend can come pick me up because I'm not staying here and listen to get some action while I don't. " Boomer said, dialing his girlfriend's phone number.

"You're still going out with Christina?"

"No, I got a new one." Boomer said walking out the door.

"Okay." Blade said locking the door behind him. He returned to his room where Blaze was eating food and watching the movie.

"So you started without me." He laughed, taking a seat on the ground next to her.

"Sorry but you were taking too long." She smiled, giggling a little too. Blade chuckled, as he got some food out the bag and begin eating and watching with her.

With Boomer...

Boomer texted his girlfriend when she didn't answer the phone and headed for the elevator. When he hit the button for lobby, his phone vibrated.

"Hello?"

"You called?" A tired yet sweet voice said over the phone.

"Yeah. Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up so late." He smiled.

"It's okay. Um..you text me to come pick you up, why?"

"My brother picked me up so we can go eat, they got drunk, and now I have no way of getting home because Brick doesn't like anyone taking his car. " He told her as he walked out the building.

"Where are you now?"

"Walking down the sidewalk from Townsville Apartments." He said nonchalantly.

"Why are you there?" She said, you could hear her get out of bed.

"Blade and Bitch live there now. I dropped Brick and Butch off there since Blade was still there. And plus he had a date so I didn't want to intrude anymore than I already had." He explained. You could hear shuffling which made Boomer laugh a little bit.

"Um...Okay, I'm coming. Just don't walk so far that I have to come looking for you like last time."

"Hahaha, okay I won't." He laughed, stopping under a street light.

"Bye."

"Bye." She sighed as she started up her car and hung the phone. Boomer whistled as he turned around and walked back to the apartment building once he realized how far he walked.

Back with Blade and Blaze...

Blade left to get another drink from the fridge. Blaze laughed lightly at a scene of a movie as she finished up the last of her food.

"Shit." Was heard from the kitchen, catching Blaze's attention. She stood up, picking up the trash before she headed out to see what happen. When she walked in Blade took off his shirt and kneeled down, cleaning up the soda he spilled.

"Really." Blaze laughed, folded her arms.

"I already spilled soda on my shirt, so why not." He smiled, Blaze rolled her eyes, laughing as she dumped the trash away. She yawned and stretched a little.

"It's late." Blade said.

"Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious." She told him, tucking a hair behind her ear. She looked over at Shadow and Lightening who were still sleeping before turning back to Blade.

"What are we going to do about the two lovebirds over there?" Blade shrugged. Blaze opened her mouth to say something but stopped and frowned.

"What?"

"Can you put a shirt on please."

"Why? Am I distracting you." He smirked, walking toward her.

"No. But is it necessary for you not to have one on?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"And what if it is?" He asked, stopping in front of her, leaving inches of space between them, the smirk never disappearing. Blaze giggled a little, looking up at him and starting a mini staring contest.

"I'm pretty sure it's not."

"But what if it is..." He began, only stopping because he leaned in and connected his lips to hers.

"... And what are going to do if I don't?" He finished after they parted.

...

"Boomer?"

"What took you so long?"

"You try driving at 12:25 in the morning, half asleep because your boyfriend wants you to come pick him up at an apartment building miles away from your house!" His girlfriend explained loudly.

"Sorry, if you didn't want to pick me up you could have just said no."

"Then how else were you going to get home?"

"I could've walked." He chuckled holding on to her waist.

"Yeah, right." She rolled her eyes, Boomer chuckling again.

"Can we go? I want to go back to sleep."

"Sure, gimme your keys."

"Why?"

"You said you were half asleep on your way here, I don't want to crash on the way back." Boomer pointed out, she huffed and handed him the keys before getting in the passenger side of the car. Boomer laughed lightly as he got into the driver's side. He started up the car and let it warm up. While he waited for that to happen he grabbed his girlfriend's hand and leaned over, giving her a kiss on the lips. She kissed him back and gave him a little smile after they parted.

Boomer pulled out of the parking lot and drove off, ending the night. But the fun is just starting, you just wait until the sun rises.
