Luke walked up the path, the Guard standing tall before him. His mind going back to the last time he was here with Jocelyn, during the Uprising. At the time they thought they would stop Valentine. Now, after recent events, he had started to think they would never stop Valentine.

Luke was suddenly jerked from his thoughts by a voice calling out his name. He looked towards the sound of the voice, only to see Isabelle.

Isabelle looked at him curiously, "Are you okay?"

Luke shook his head to clear it, "Yes, I'm fine." He looked back up at the Guard, "Do you know what is going on in there?"

Isabelle shook her head, "I've only got bits and pieces from Alec when they have taken a break."

Luke sighed heavily, "Well, what have you been able to figure out?"

"They are upset, of course," Isabelle rolled her eyes. "Because there's not one, but two Downworlders in Alicante. At least you grew up here and know the people here. Simon has nobody."

Luke shook his head, "That's not true. He has us."

Isabelle shrugged her shoulders and nodded her head slightly, "Sure, but children of two ex Circle members, an ex Shadowhunter turned Werewolf, and Valentine's son won't be of much help."

"Isabelle don't give up hope. We'll figure something out." He looked out to the glass towers, "Anything on Clary?"

Isabelle shook her head, "They are more worried about Simon than finding Clary."

"All we know is that Clary portalled to Lake Lynn?"

Isabelle shook her head, "No, Magnus was able to find out that the wards were extended farther out into Idris, including Lake Lynn. He wasn't able to find out how far they extend."

Hope sparked in Luke's eyes, "Well who does."

Isabelle sighed, "Ragnor Fell."

"Has anybody gone to see him?"

Isabelle nodded her head, "That was the first thing Magnus did when he arrived."

Luke hung onto every word that came out of Isabelle's lips, like it was the only thing keeping him alive.

"His house had been broken into, Ragnor was nowhere to be found."

Luke's heart dropped into his stomach, despair choking his heart.

Isabelle's eyes showed complete understanding

"But he's always there!" Luke shouted.

"Well, he isn't there now. But if they don't do something soon, I'll be going to look myself," Jace said, joining the conversation from the steps, startling the two.

"Jace," Luke sighed. "You would not be allowed to go with any search party.

"Why? Because I'm Valentine's son?" Jace spat bitterly. "We all know how you feel about him."

"Jace you know that is not it at all."

"Well, why else? Because the love of your life is my mother?" Jace asked. "She has another child that is out there missing, a child that you have treated like your own."

"Jace, this has nothing to do with Jocelyn. You are too impulsive right now, you are not thinking rationally."

"I'm not thinking rationally? Me?" Jace scoffed. "Says the werewolf who turns at the slightest thing to anger him!"

No one said anything, so Jace continued. "Well, Clary is out there all alone, and I need to find her because I love-" Jace noticed his mistake and instead said, "Because I lost her, and she is my little sister, and as her big brother it is my job to keep her safe." Jace then stalked off towards the Lightwood's home.

Luke and Isabelle watched as Jace slowly disappeared from their vision.

Soon, the door to the guard opened and Alec walked out. "Seriously, can we please get off the topic of Downworlders right now?" He spoke with anger.

"Still on Simon?" Isabelle asked.

Alec groaned, "Sort of. They are talking about how in one day, we had three Downworlders arrive here. And some Shadowhunters want them all executed."

Luke sat up straight, "Two of us had permission. And the other was dragged here, against his will!"

Alec shook his head, "They are just being unreasonable." At this point Alec looked around, "Is Jace still not here?"

Isabelle shook her head, "He just left, and he's not very happy."

Alec looked curious, "Why?"

"Because I told him he couldn't go look for Clary."

Alec chuckled, "Now I see, you don't ever tell Jace he can't do something."

"Well it isn't just that. He started to admit he loves Clary," Isabelle stated.

"But of course he loves her, she's his sister."

"Alec...not that kind of love."

Alec frowned, "that would definitely explain it."

"You should probably head back in," Luke motioned with his head towards the door which Maryse stood at.

The sky had started to darken, oranges and purples reaching across the sky when Alec finally exited the guard again.

Alec looked at Isabelle and Alec and shook his head.

"Was it not talked about at all?" Luke jumped to his feet, angrily.

"Oh, it was talked about alright. It is not good to be the daughter of a traitor."

"Elaborate," Luke said, his whole body started to shake.

"They figured out, by their own calculations, a few places she could have landed. But they believe her to be dead after so long." Luke let out a growl. "There will be no official search parties, even for a body."

Luke was shaking in anger, "Why wouldn't they search for her? She's a Shadowhunter?"

"Maybe by blood, but she hasn't received her angelic rune. They don't consider her a Shadowhunter because of that. Let alone, they know nothing about her. For all they know she could be infiltrating for Valentine." Alec started to pull something out of his pocket.

"She would never do that!" Luke roared, starting to shake more violently.

"What are we supposed to do then?" Isabelle asked, worry evident in her voice.

Alec held up a piece of paper. Upon further inspection Isabelle and Luke noticed it was a map. "This," Alec said. "Shows the areas she could have landed."

Luke nodded his head, "Then let's go get Jace and come up with a plan."
