Gibbs was sitting outside of the hospital when Ducky walked over to him.
"How is she doing Jethro?" Ducky asked as he sat besides Gibbs on a bench.
"She's doing good, just some burns and a concussion?" Gibbs asked as he drank his coffee.
"Do you know Miss Smith?" Ducky asked as he looked at Gibbs. Gibbs then sighed and shook his head.
"Yes I do, she's the daughter of one of my closest friends, he's passed, but he asked me to take care of her for him. And look what I've done so far." Gibbs muttered, getting up, walking towards the doors of the hospital.
"It's not your fault. She's grown up, she could look after herself." Ducky said as they climbed into the elevator. They then stood in silence and they then walked over to her room and Gibbs opened the door, she was awake. Her arm was wrapped in white cloths, so was her head. She then looked up as the door to her room opened.
"Gibbs?" Zoey said tiredly as she just woke up. Gibbs walked over to her bed and sat down besides it, a soft smile crossed his face.
"How you feeling?" He asked, using a soft tone, while Ducky stared at him in amusement as he never seen him act like this before.
"Could be better, but fine." She said yawning, she then noticed Ducky standing in the corner. "Who's that?"
"That's my old friend Ducky." Gibbs said as he gestured for him to come closer.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Smith." Ducky said as he held out his hand for her to shake. Zoey then shook his hand weakly.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Gibbs told me about you." Zoey said sweetly as heard Gibbs phone ring. Gibbs then excited out of the room.
"Special Agent Gibbs."
"Boss, the paper I collected was an NCIS application, the girl's name was on it, it looked like she was filling it out to become an agent." McGee's voice sounded through the phone.
"I'll be there soon." Gibbs then hung up and re-entered the room, he then explained he and Ducky had to leave, and that he'll check up on her later. They then excited the hospital and got into Gibbs car and sped off towards NCIS.
