Kagome sat down on the bed of her new dorm, it was different that was for sure. The hat had been very informing of her family and information her mother hadn't wanted to tell her.
Apparently her father had been a Squib and her mother married him, because of that fact they didn't think she would end up with magic...which was actually the opposite.
She had strong magic. It pulsed with life all around her.
She wanted to learn more about this world she was in, sadly it seemed like she would have to be careful. The house she got into was Slytherin, the house of the Purebloods and ambitious.
Kagome was ambitious...she wanted to prove herself. She wanted to be powerful so she never had to lean on another person again. She had to do that when she was in the past...and she never wanted to be that powerless again. Kagome had learned to somewhat protect herself, but it wasn't enough for her.
She would be strong and no one could say she was weak.
Her blue eyes flashed as she glanced around her, she would have to go to the library and learn everything she could.
Kagome could already tell the difference between Slytherin and the other houses. Sure, the magic was more raw, and powerful, but there was more than that. The Slytherin house kept emotions in check and seemed like they were all aristocrats.
Something she wasn't but didn't mean she couldn't act that way.
'I will have to really be on guard while here.' Kagome thought as she flipped open one of her books. She would have to make sure she kept her magic in check while here. She didn't know how Britain was about Miko's.
Kagome was brought out of her thoughts by smooth soprano.
"So you're our new roommate." The voice called from the doorway, making Kagome narrow her eyes at the tone of voice the woman used.
She wouldn't be looked down upon.
"If that is a problem you are free to roam somewhere else," Kagome informed the girl who blinked at the quick comeback.
The girl smirked, "It seems like you aren't like the other spineless worms in this house." The woman grinned as she flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder, her blue eyes looking into her own blue eyes.
"You are?" Kagome inquired, as she looked over the girl. She could tell she was the head of her grade, but she wasn't going to back down.
"My name is Narcissa Black..." Her lips grew into a small smile, "It's a..pleasure."
Kagome gave a small hum and bowed her head in reply, "Kagome Higurashi...pleasure I'm sure."
Kagome didn't know that her last name meant a lot in Britain, more so than she knew.

At Sunset Shrine, Kaira Higurashi wasn't sure what to do. Her daughter was now in England and she didn't know how she felt about it.
It had been many years since she was there herself. Ever since she met her first husband. He had been something else.
Dark...mysterious...and he had been a Squib. Yes, but he was a pureblood and knew things about the magic she never knew.
The things he taught her were...magical.
He was someone she fell in love with so easily...but his family didn't like that. He had been killed when his family found out he had married her.
She would always blame herself for that.
Glancing outside at the full moon she silently wished for the safety of her only daughter. 'Please be safe. Let magic protect you from any harm that could befall you while in your father's homeland...'
