My heart thuds in my chest, and echoes in my ears. My pulse rushes through my veins, my head pounds. I look down, and see a body, torn, bloodied, slit at the throat. I am not bothered. My paws itch, wet, and look closely at them. Splashed with red, my claws dug into the ground. I tremble, and feel a disgusting grin appear on my face. However, looking at the body closer, my heart seems to freeze. Familiar orange eyes stare back at me, lifeless. Tan fur lies flat against cold skin. A terrifying scream rips from my throat as I view my body, torn apart, by myself.

I jolt awake, a scream building in my throat. My fur is slick with sweat, and my heart pounds hysterically. However, a soft tail rests on my shoulders. I turn, frightened, to my right. A familiar silver tabby looks worriedly at me. Stormstar? In the middle of the night? "I sensed something was wrong." She mews quietly. I flush as I realize how close we are. She seems to realize as well, and removes her tail from my back, covering her embarrassment with a cough. It's no use. I really can see right through her. Not that I'm staring, or anything.

"You're pretty." I blurt, then clamp my mouth shut, lifting a paw to my face. Did I really just say that out loud? Well, that's one way to get rejected. But, she smiles.

"Thank you. You... You are too." I'm internally screaming. What did I do to deserve this beautiful she-cat in my life? She stretches her neck out to touch my nose with hers. I close my eyes for a second, taking in the coolness of the air and her soft fur. She pulls back, and I'm immediately missing her touch.

"So." She meows, obviously nervous. "Are... Are we, you know... A thing?" I blush profusely.

"Um... Are we?"

"I think that's how it works..?"

"Me too. Um. But it's okay with you? I mean I wouldn't want to force you into anything..."

"Absolutely! Let's... Let's just keep it quiet for a while?"

My heart is pounding and I nod, breathless. She leans her head on my shoulder and we take in the gorgeous view of the moonlit camp. "You are staying that long, aren't you?" A while? More like forever.

"I don't think I have anything to go back to..." She jolts as I speak, her head flying off of my shoulder.

"I'm sorry!" She meows frantically. "I didn't mean to say that! I don't know what I was thinking. You have no obligation to-"

"I'm staying." I cut her off, smiling. She visibly relaxes, and lets out a sigh of relief. We make our way to her den. As we cuddle in her extremely comfortable nest, I can't help thinking about how lucky I am.

A/N: They don't know it, but Reedheart was awake. Shipping them and chuckling under his breath. I wouldn't be surprised if he made action figures of them. Yes, our little Reedheart is an introvert who ships EVERYONE. Deal with it. xD
