Night Three
Yasuo wasn't getting any closer to the truth this time. It took longer for him to get anywhere, and it felt as if he were wearing ankle weights. The invisible floor pulled his body down while his eyes landed on her, forcing his chest into what felt like transparent concrete. The feeling was overwhelming this time. "Stop..." he gave a breath and eventually collapsed, the girl disappearing once again.
The more he tried to struggle against the gravity, Yasuo managed to push himself off for just a moment. The push was just enough to launch himself from the floor, and all gravity dissipated. The entire room turned to blue, a cute, baby blue hue. He floated, and it was a weight off his shoulders. The mood became light, and a wave of euphoria washed over him. In his ears the chime rang once again, was she back? His euphoria rose to excitement. He tried to float towards the chime of the music box, and he made progress. The song grew closer and closer, he began to smile as the silhouette reappeared. From above, clouds started to form in the "sky". Her face was more pronounced, his vision zoomed in on blue eyes shown from under a set of bangs. "Hello?" He said with a long sigh following, meanwhile the sound of the chimes intensified over background noise.
There was no response from her, she stared at him for a long time. It felt like hours she stared at him, but it had only been a few seconds. He stared back, his mind focused on the sight in front of him. "Can you speak?" He asked, the music from the box completely silenced. A trill of her harp below her hips bounced off the invisible walls, it sounded like she was trying to communicate. He didn't understand. What did she want? Who was she? A triple knock abruptly echoed through the room. The woman jumped and floated away in an instant as he hit the floor. She was gone, and he woke.
12:00pm, noon. His alarm was ringing since 8:00am. The music box sat next to the alarm clock. A couple more knocks came from the doorway to his apartment. He quickly snapped out of what just happened in his dream, getting up to get the door. A woman stood at the door, she looked familiar. She had a wispy aura about her. Blonde hair flowed down her back with a crown around her head, dressed in a long blue and fluffy coat, ending just above her knees. She stood at neck height to him, crystal heels on her feet.
"Hello." A calm voice came from her glossed lips.
"Yasuo? I'm assuming." She gave him a friendly smile.
"Uh... yeah." He responded, lifting a brow.
"Amazing. I'm Janna, you may remember me." She said with a sigh of relief. "This may be sudden but, Demacia invites you." She took a pause.
He remembered as soon as she said her name. Janna. "To... wha-?"
She cut him off without noticing, pulling an envelope from her pocket. "A banquet. I know you have not been active in duty for quite some time, but, Demacia continues recognizes you as a hero on the Fields of Justice. Please, do not refuse. We will be looking forward to your arrival. Dress nicely!" She said, giving him the envelope. She quickly turned on her heel, and practically floated away from the door with each step.
He was taken aback by the quick exchange between them. Yasuo watched her walk away, and slowly closed his door. He studied the envelope that was given to him, sliding his thin fingers across the wax seal of Demacia. He carefully opened the seal and pulled out a folded paper, the ink slightly bled through on the back.
The message wrote:
- Yasuo, The Unforgiven
This is a formal request to attend the Grand Banquet at the Hall of Demacia. Garen & Crownguard approve your arrival and welcome you to stay in the living quarters.
- Sincerely The Demacian High Council
Yasuo took a moment to appreciate the formal letter, but wasn't sure why this happened now. Quite frankly, he was a lot happier just living a normal life off of the Fields of Justice or anything to do with it in between. It was practically like seeing people from highschool again, except some of them may want to kill you. He took a deep breath and let it out slow, these dreams were making him anxious more often. He decided he'd go, it felt like the right thing to do.
