Chapter 3: Praying

Tsuna was washing the dishes on the side, humming to himself. Yamamoto was in the living room drinking his coffee peacefully. They had just finished eating dinner. And Gokudera returned to his own home. That made the brunet curious. However, he didn't comment it aloud. He could get it later from Yamamoto when he's done. The brunet smiled softly when there was one dish left to clean.

"You know you didn't need to wash them. I could have helped."

"It's too late to complain. And I don't mind. In return, there's something I want to ask you."

"Oh...? And what would that be?"

Tsuna entered the living room with his hands dried. He took a seat next to Yamamoto on the couch. Though he sat at the far end. He bit his lower lip in thought. Maybe there was a reason they weren't living together. It could be something personal that they wouldn't want to share with him. The brunet kept himself quiet as he mentally debated. Yamamoto stared at his friend with confusion. He slid closer to properly face Tsuna.

"What is it Tsuna?" Yamamoto asked.

"It's actually about you and Gokudera-kun. Why aren't you living together?"

"Oh that... Where's this coming from?"

"B-But you don't have to tell me if you—"

Tsuna stopped himself from continuing. Yamamoto was sitting close to him which made him recall some memories. He quickly stood up from the couch and moved to the armchair. He took his place behind it and ran his hands across the fabric. The raven haired male blinked absentminded at what his friend just did. He got the hint that he should stay where he is and sit.

"It's okay if you don't want to answer. I was curious about it."

"No, it's okay. We had an argument so we're on a break sort of..."

"What was it about?"

"Our needs wasn't compatible. So we're like this to get it all straighten out."

Tsuna nodded his head awkwardly. If only he and Hibari were able to do that. Alas, that wasn't going to work. The television filled the room with news, making it less awkward for them. Tsuna continued standing behind the armchair as he watched the news. He was still feeling awkward about what happened earlier. He was hoping something like that doesn't happen again. That would be considered as cheating for the both of them.

"Tsuna, about what happen between us before Gokudera came in. Please forget about it."

"D-Don't worry. I will. It'll take awhile for me to get used to it."

"Yeah, I promise that it won't happen again."

"Yeah... I don't want it to get awkward between us."

Yamamoto returned his attention back to the television. The conversation died down and neither of them intend to do nothing about it. Feeling his legs getting wearily, Tsuna sat down on the armchair and continued his previous action. The topic changed to something that made the brunet's heart drop to his stomach. The reporters were going on about a prison breakout that happened earlier today. Not much damage was done, but that wasn't what made Tsuna's heart stone cold.

On the television was his lover Hibari. He was dragging the last criminal and threw the man in the police car. The raven haired male gave the reporters a short glare before entering the car and driving off. Tsuna looked down to his shaken hands and found it scraping softly on the armchair. He told himself repeatedly that he is safe and away from Hibari. However, it only eased his nerves slightly.

"Hibari is something, isn't he? Who would have thought he owned a Task Force." Yamamoto commented.

"He really is..." Tsuna whispered.

Yamamoto side glanced at his friend and took notice of Tsuna's behavior. He could see how the brunet fidget uncomfortably on his seat as he watched the news. The raven haired male made a mental note to not mention Hibari as often. He could have guessed that Tsuna doesn't feel at ease if he did. His attention went back to the screen. Hopefully, Tsuna will explain himself when he's ready.

Hibari hissed as he threw the files down. After relieving his pent up stress, he went straight to searching his missing lover. He checked recent medical records, purchases, or anything that could be a hint. The policeman dropped down to the seat behind him. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. Despite it being hard to believe, he missed his beloved boyfriend. He still is. And having no idea where he was is irritating him to no end.

"Where could you have gone, Tsunayoshi?" He asked bitterly.

The silence ended when his second-in-command Tetsuya Kusakabe entered the room. Hibari hissed, ordering him to make his business short and simple. Tetsuya scurry back slightly before recomposing himself. He set a few files on the table in front of his boss and said it was records of recent criminals. The raven haired policeman leaned forward and took the files into his possession. He opened one of it and scanned it quickly.

"Return to your work. I will call you if I need anything." He ordered.

Tetsuya nodded briefly and exit the room. Hibari sighed as he dropped the files out of his hand. He could care less about anything else. He was too bothered about Tsuna to even care about work. And nothing brings him greater joy than doing his work. He leaned back on the wooden chair, releasing another sigh. He closed his eyes as he drifted to his deep thoughts. The faster he searches, the better for him to lock the brunet away when he finds him.

"Don't think you can run from me Tsunayoshi..." He muttered.

Tsuna felt a shiver run down his spine. He looked behind, expecting someone was standing there. Alas, no one was. He shrugged his shoulders nervously and dropped the entire thing. He was fixing Yamamoto's bed for the third time before smiling to himself. Since he and Yamamoto, mostly Yamamoto, agreed on him staying here, his friend prepared the guest's room for him. In return, Tsuna fixed the bed accordingly to it's original state.

It was hard to believe that he was at least good with household chores. When he was younger, he could barely do anything without messing it up. He smiled at the thought. He misses the old days when he had a normal life. Those were the times when he was really free. He sometimes wondered what his younger self would say if he saw his current self. Well, at least it's not going to be good.

"Tsuna, are you done yet?"

The brunet looked behind him. Yamamoto was leaning against the doorframe with arms crossed and a smile. Tsuna nodded briefly, saying that he is. His close friend waved his hand back and forth. It was a signal that said he needed to follow him. And that's what he did. The two of them walked down the hall near the end. Yamamoto opened the door and moved aside to allow the brunet to see his room.

The room itself was fairly spaceful. It couldn't be compared to his room at Hibari's, but it came as a close second. The brunet stepped in to take a better look. It had the same blue colored walls with hint of white mixed in. There were basic furniture in the room that has a clean white color on all of it. Tsuna smiled at turned around to see his best friend. Yamamoto took a step forward and stood by him with observant eyes.

"Do you like it?" He asked.

"Love it. It's perfect."

"I hope so. Make yourself at home."

"Thanks."

Yamamoto stepped out of the room, leaving the brunet alone. Tsuna thought over the word 'home'. It sounded odd since this place wasn't exactly his home. Yet, he couldn't say the same when he was with Hibari. He adjusted to the thought. He likes it here. No harm is coming to him and he's with someone that cares about him. That's what home should be like. All he needs now is his possessions. And he definitely knows that he currently have none.

"I guess I need to go back there again..." Tsuna whispered.

"You're going back to Hibari's place?"

"Yeah... All my stuff are back there. And I want to move in and not bother him about it."

Tsuna and Yamamoto were settled down in the living room. The brunet managed to slip in the topic of Hibari in their conversation. And that led to their current topic. Yamamoto gave him a doubtful look, making it say it is a bad idea. Tsuna reassured him that it will be a brief visit and it won't seem like he went at all.

"Then, do you need any help? I can come with you if you want." Yamamoto offered.

"No, it's okay. I also want to talk to him alone..."

"Well, be careful. Call me if you need my help. I think Hibari still has my number."

"Okay, thanks."

Tsuna went off to bed after that. He was mentally preparing a plan and himself for tomorrow. His body shook under the covers and he couldn't calm down at all. He is scared. He is praying for some miracle for any of his ridiculous plans to work accordingly. Or at least long enough to gather all his things and make a run for it. His body stopped shaking after an hour. Everything is going to be fine, he reassured himself.

Well, I hope that satisfy your 8027 needs. Anyways, more to come later. And, please show some caring for those that suffered in the Philippines. Thank you.
