Outcast-a-Rooney

2 weeks later

It was a lovely spring day; the birds chirping in the oak tree, the grass giving off a heavenly smell of fresh dew, even the Sun shone brightly. It couldn't have been a better day.

Smack! Joey's head swung forward then around as he stared at the assailant that has just smacked him over the back of the head.

Okay, maybe not the best day.

Liv stood there with a scowl, seemingly angry at Joey. He was livid, as anyone would be if they just got slapped across the rear of their cranium for no reason.

"What was that for?! That hurt!" he cried out.

"Nothing really. Just felt like it. But quit whining like a wuss; I mean, seriously, I'm a girl. I can't of hit you that hard" Liv retaliated coolly.

"For a girl, you can be quite aggressive" Joey muttered under his breath.

"What was that?" Liv questioned. "Noth-Nothing, sister dearest." He stumbled out, trying to cover his tracks as to not receive another smack.

"Liv, what the heck are you doing?!" came the outburst from Maddie as she walked into the room to see her twin smoking.

"Taking a drag, got a problem?" as she put her lips back up to the nicotine-filled stick. She pulled in as her lungs took in the smoke, seeming to not have a reaction to the nasty air flowing down her windpipe, as far as Maddie could see. Really, she was close to tears from the burning sensation. She only took it up to receive attention.

"Get that nasty thing out of our room, and out of your mouth! Great, now I have to go get some air freshener to get the smell out" Maddie exclaimed. Liv, not wanting to make her twin any angrier, put the cigarette out in a cup of alcohol she had. She didn't feel like drinking it anyway. "You better not go tell anyone, you got that Maddie? If you do, that's gonna really piss me off" Liv said heatedly.

"Liv, watch your mouth! That's really irritating me and I don't like-"

"I don't give a hell what you don't like!" Liv interjected. "If this is the only thing getting your attention, maybe I'll do something even worse, then maybe everyone one else will notice that I'm back. 'Cause this outcast situation is not flying with me."

Maddie stood there speechless. Finally, she silently left the room. But not before she heard the shift of Liv lighting another cigarette.

"Mom, I think Liv's got problems" Parker told Karen. "I could hear yelling from Liv and Maddie's room a little bit ago, and it seemed pretty bad. Like they were fighting, but about something Liv was doing."

What could Liv be doing that could make Maddie mad enough to have a yelling match? Karen thought.

I hope this isn't what Liv was talking about when she said she needed help. I hope she's okay.
