A/N: college. That's all I have to say about my late updates.

Also a note about my obvious spelling mistakes: I'm dyslexic and I type really fast and my autocorrect over corrects sometimes. I try really hard to look over and triple check things but that doesn't work out to well. Thank you for putting up with me.

"Congratulations." Kevin smiled at the girls as the came down the staircase in a graft state.

"On what?" Alria yawned.

"You two made the team, it's in the board." He pointed. They walked over to it and grinned.

"Let's celebrate by getting breakfast." Mimi smiled. They walked down to the great hall, discussing their schedules for the day, and sit down when two new people join them.

"Hey Alria, Mimi." Robert nodded, turning to Kevin. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name?"

"Kevin." He smiled.

"Nice he meet you." He nodded. He motioned to the dark skinned girl stuffing her face with toast. "This is my cousin Crystal."

"ello." She mumbled with food in her mouth.

"Did she say hello?" Mimi asked.

"No." She swallowed. "I said 'ello, but close enough."

"Erm, ok..." Mimi eyed her while Alria and Kevin laughed.

"They get it." She winked at them.

"Crystal here is the seeker for the team." Robert explained.

"And we," came a new voice. The group looked up to see to identical looking blond boys sitting down now.

"Are the beaters for the team." The other finished. "I'm Ethan."

"And I'm Nathan." The smiled.

"We have DADA with you guys and Robert, right?" Kevin asked.

"Yep." Ethan nodded. "Nice work on Potter. He deserves to get his ass kicked every now and then."

"Really?" Alria finally looked up from her sleep haze. "He seems nice."

"Sure, so does a snake at first glance." Nathan snorted. "He's an ass."

"First class prick." Crystal inserted.

"Hey, that's my cousin." Mimi inserted.

"I'm sorry." Robert said.

"Why all the hostility?" Kevin asked, worried.

"Oh Canadians." Ethan shook his head. "He's a cheater; on tests and girls. He's a bully and incredibly arrogant."

"Really?" Mimi blinked.

"So we have Muggle Studies first thing this morning." Kevin said loudly. "What's that all about?"

"Not so subtle change of subject," Alria snorted. "But a valid one none the less. What is muggle studies?"

"Studies about muggle things." Robert shrugged.

"Why?" Kevin asked. "I mean I heard yesterday Britain wizards only got television recently. Are you guys really that disconnected with the muggle world here?"

"Historically yes." Robert nodded. "But in recent decades we as a society have been making a conscious effort to reconnect."

"So that's why muggle studies is mandatory." Kevin realized.

"They're talking about making it mandatory in France, too." Mimi nodded. "Europe as a whole has been pretty limited with the the muggle world."

"That's really different compared to Canada." Kevin raised an eyebrow. "We have muggle tv, music, technology."

"And in America we interact with them constantly." Alria added. "The movie business is largely witches and wizards using their talents for 'special affects' and such."

"That's why Hollywood is the movie capital." Nathan laughed.

"The world makes since once more." Ethan snorted.

"Well we should get going." Mimi shook her head. "See what the class is like."

"Sounds good." Alria sighed. "I guess we'll see you guys in Herbology."

"Yep, see you then." Robert waved.

"So how was it?" Nathan asked as the trio walked into the green house. Alria and Kevin groaned as they plopped down at their seats.

"That bad?" Ethan laughed.

"Apparently the teacher didn't know all these books and shows that are apparently famous in the muggle world." Mimi explained.

"The shows we mentioned are BRITISH." Alria burst. "The books were British. And she still didn't know."

"Dang." Robert shook his head. Just then loud laughing interrupted and they all looked to see a large group of gryffindors entering. "Could they be any more obnoxious?"

"Especially Chris." Ethan pointed out. "He always says the most inappropriate things."

"He does say tactless things sometimes." Mimi furrowed her eyebrows. "But he admits when he's made a mistake and learns from it."

"If you say so." Robert shrugged. The class started and they worked on the plants professor long bottom assigned.

"Hey Alria." James said as he, Chris, and Patrick walked up to them. Patrick and Mimi put their hands around one-another's waist instinctively and just smiled at each other.

"Potter." Robert scolded. "What do you want?"

"I wasn't talking to you." James narrowed his eyes.

"What ever." Robert rolled his eyes. "I'll see you guys at lunch."

"Later Gryffies." Ethan and Nathan taunted as they left behind him.

"They need surgery to get the poles surgically removed from their asses." Chris commented loudly.

"Hey, that's a bit much." Kevin said, eyes wide.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" He asked.

"Kevin Kalvin." He introduced himself.

"Oh, you must be the Canadian my sister mentioned." James stated.

"Ah, Canadian." Patrick nodded. "You blokes aren't much for conflict."

"Except in hockey." Chris added.

"Right." Kevin's eyes narrowed. He turned to the girls and raised and eyebrow. "I think I'll catch up with the other guys. See yah."

"Man, Canadians are so skittish." Chris laughed.

"No, you're being rude." Alria narrowed her eyes. She had just defended them and then they do this stupid stuff.

"How am I being rude?" Chris asked.

"You were a bit rude about the Canadian thing." Mimi pointed out.

"Any way." James interrupted. "I wanted to ask you if you understood the homework."

"Oh, yeah." Alria blinked at the change of subject.

"Great." James smiled. "So can you help me out? I'll help tutor you in Transfiguration."

"Sure." Alria shrugged. "How about this weekend?"

"Sound good." James nodded. They all started to walk up to the great hall in a rather awkward silence after that. They parted ways and sat at their own tables.

"This feels off." Alria confided in Mimi as they sat a bit away from everyone. "Being in two groups that don't get along."

"Yeah, it's weird." Mimi sighed. "But we can do it."

"Hey guys." Kevin moved to sit by them.

"Sorry about all that." Mimi told him.

"It's not your fault." He shrugged.

"Hello." Came another voice. They all liked up to see Lily and another girl sitting with them.

"Hey Lily." Kevin smiled.

"Heard you met my brother and his friends." She said. "I apologize for anything they might have said."

"No apology needed." He smiled at her. Alria and Mimi shared a look and smiled as well.

"This is Samantha." she introduced her friend. "My best friend."

"Nice to meet you." Alria smiled.

"I think we've met a few times." Mimi smiled.

"I heard that you met my older brother and his friends." She smiled sympathetically to Kevin. "Sorry about them. Ok they don't think before they speak."

"I got that." Kevin snorted.

"Oh man, I need to get going." Alria said suddenly. "I'll be late for divination."

"You're taking divination?" Samantha snorted. "It's such a joke class."

"Really?" Alria frowned. "It's mandatory at the Academy."

"Really?" Mimi asked, startled.

"Academy of Voodoo." Alria explained. "Our end of the year project after Owls last year was to go out in the French Market or around it and tell Muggles' fortunes."

"Isn't that breaking like a thousand wizard laws?" Kevin's eyes widened.

"It's New Orleans." Alria laughed. "Magic is probably the least strange thing the muggles see."

She quickly got up and made her way to the top of the castle to a small attic classroom.

Alria stomped down the hallway angrily as she made her way back to the Ravenclaw dorms. She had spent the entire class period arguing with idiot Trelawny about different meanings in Palm reading and was in a furious state. It wasn't until she ran into a hard object that she finally looked around her.

"Hey, where's the fire?" Nathan joked.

"Sorry." She blushed. "I'm a little angry from divination."

"Well divination is a frustrating class I've heard." He smiled. "Heard the lady's a fraud."

"No, she's a real Seer." Alria shrugged. "Just a horrid Reader."

"A what?" He asked.

"Divination vocab nonsense." She brushed off quickly. "What are you up to?"

"Off to find Ethan." He said. "He was with his girlfriend and I was going to let him know a bunch of us were going to go to swimming in a bit. Act surprised when Mimi asks you by the way, she wanted to be the one to tell you."

"Where can we possibly go swimming?" Alria asked.

"The Lake of course." He grinned. "It's actually really nice while the weather's warm."

"Sounds fun." She smiled. "I guess I'll see you shortly."

"Guess you will." He sent a playful smile back as he walked off. Alecia's mood improved as she finally made her way into her dorm.
