I'm so sorry! I couldn't update for the last few days BUT NEVER FEAR I am posting all of them today!
This chapter goes out to BlackChatton. Thanks for favoriting my story!
I don't own Miraculous.
After pretending to be asleep in Marinette's box and then getting away with pulling her in, I dreaded the morning when I would have to leave. But when I woke up, still transformed, I knew it was time to leave before Marinette's parents caught me. I yawned, and then Plagg materialized on my ring, more tired than I had ever seen him before. Guess I'm not going anywhere, I thought.
"Crap!" I whispered. "Plagg, I'm so sorry! I was patrolling and I saw the box at Marinette's house and I -" My voice broke. Will he be okay? I really pushed him to his limits, if he can't even move. "I forgot about you. I'm so sorry." I held my kwami close to me, hoping he was okay.
"Put me... handbag," Plagg croaked, pointing to the left. I looked over the side of the side of the box and found what he was pointing at. I unclasped the bag and put him inside. He gave me a weak thumbs-up - nub-up? - and motioned for me to close it. I did so, and anxiously waited for something to happen. When nothing did, I guessed that Plagg wouldn't be out for quite some time.
"Mmm... Adrien..." From the box, Marinette shuffled around and grabbed the hem of my shirt in her sleep.
She knows!? I looked over at her, shock clearly evident on my face. How did she find out? I racked my brain for instances in which I could've been careless with my identity. Well, I scolded myself, definitely yesterday. Speaking of yesterday, I felt oddly refreshed, like I had woken up from a warm hug.
Wait.
I had woken up from a warm hug! When I fell asleep, the only thing I remembered was Marinette's soft embrace, comforting me like my state-of-the-art bed back at my house never could. Is Marinette magic? I wondered. I hadn't felt so, well, loved since Mom had gone. I settled back into the box, blushing. Marinette buried her face into my blond hair and once again put her arms around me.
Just then, Marinette's alarm rang. I felt Marinette tense up from beside me. "Cat Noir?"
"Yep, Marinette, it's me, Adrien. How long have you known my identity?"
I heard a squeak from beside me. "Marinette?" I asked, my voice laced with concern. "Is everything okay?"
"Y-yeah," she stuttered, her face still in my hair. "I just n-never knew y-you were Cat n-Noir."
"Wait- but you said my name when you were sleeping," I said, confused.
Just then, we both heard footsteps coming up from under Marinette's trapdoor. "Quick! Hide!" Marinette said, pointing to under her bed. I jumped up, getting another squeak from Marinette, and promptly rolled under the bed. And not a moment too soon, I concluded as the trapdoor opened.
"Marinette?" I heard the unmistakable, motherly tone of Mme. Cheng's voice as she opened the trapdoor. I held my breath, hoping that I wouldn't be caught. "Marinette?"
"I'll be down in a second, Maman," Marinette called. The trapdoor closed, and I let out a relieved sigh.
"Adrien!" A voice hissed by my ear. I jumped, rolling around to see an unhappy Marinette under the bed next to me. "Why did you put me under the bed?"
"Uhh... I did?" I thought back to what I had done. I jumped up, scooped up Marinette and dove under the bed. "Oh." I blushed, a sheepish smile on my face. "I guess I did, m'lady." I awkwardly paused. "Um, should we get out from under the bed?"
Marinette's jaw had dropped. "You... what... how? You knew?"
"Knew what?" I cocked my head, or at least tried to, since I could hardly move it. I ended up hitting my head. "Here," I suggested, "let's sit on your bed." I scooted out from under the bed and sat on it, and Marinette followed close behind.
"So... you called me m'lady. How did you know my identity? Do you think anyone else has figured it out?" Marinette stopped, awaiting my response.
"What? Your identity? What do you mean, I -" I looked over at Marinette, realizing what this meant. "You're Ladybug? I didn't call you 'm'lady' on purpose, it just slipped out! And me messing up let me know my lady's identity? This could not have been better!" Overjoyed, I hugged her like she was a long-lost friend who had just come home.
And in a way, she was.
Plagg was better by then, and he revealed that it was Tikki who was helping him. Marinette and I had to have a few minutes to ourselves so we could recover from the shock of finding out eachothers' secret identities. After, I transformed and slipped out of her room, only to come back around to the front to volunteer to help for the day. M. Dupain welcomed me in, and Marinette and I had a blast. At the end of the day, I went to leave but Marinette caught my arm, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
"Adrien," she started, "we have some things to catch up on." Right now, she's taking me up to her room. She won't tell me what these 'things' are, but she does say that I will like the surprise.
This was originally going to be an Adrienette chapter, but I think that it works better as a Reveal chapter. :)
