Chapter 3
Lucy POV
Slowly drifting out of sleep, in the land of the in-between state, where you're not really asleep, but you're not fully awake either. The blankets surrounding me are warm, and the room is quiet, besides from the snickering in the background of the quietness. 'Wait snickering?' Slowly coming out of that in-between state, I'm becoming more aware of my surroundings.
The first thing I realize is that I'm not surrounded by blankets anymore; instead I'm encircled with limbs. Not just anybodies limbs, Natsu's limbs. I pop eyes open, immediately I see Natsu's face, his nose is about an inch away from mine. I could just tilt my head up and reach out a little, and I would be kissing him; if it weren't for the stifled chuckles at the end of the bed.
I try to back away from the man-child, but he only strengthens his hold. I look to the end of the bed to see a giggling Erza and a chuckling Gray. I look back at Natsu, he's smiling like he just did something good, he burrows his face in my neck. His breath his hot on my neck and his hair is tickling my face, I blush fiercely. My hands I squished in between my chest and his, so it's not like I can hit him to wake him up. "Natsu let me go." I hiss in his ear. His only response is tightening his hold on me.
I can hardly breath, he's crushing me. "Natsu, you're crushing me." I say weakly. He doesn't let up though. I look back at the end of the bed, Erza's awing and Gray is laughing his ass off. I press my hand's to his chest I push slightly trying to put some air in my lungs. That's when I remember I'm wearing his shirt, and my blushing intensifies. "Natsu, come'on wake up!" I say louder in his ear. "5 more minutes Lushie~" he say's his voice husky from sleep, making me blush harder.
'What if I' "Natsu I have to pee~" I whine. He pulls back a little, with one eye open, looks at me. Trying lose the blush on my cheeks, I pretend like I really do have to pee. "Come'on Natsu." He's looking at me trying to figure out if I'm lying or not. Deciding that I am he goes back to holding me like I'm his favourite toy.
Now Grays crying from laughing so hard and Erza has a nice red blush forming across her face. "Guy's are not going to help me!" I whine at them. Erza shakes her head, and through laughs Gray replies with a "Nope." Just then Lisanna comes into the room and sees Erza and Gray, laughing and awing. Then she looks over at Natsu and I, there are a series of emotions that flash through Lisanna's face; hurt, anger, amusement and delight.
"Lisanna you gotta help me!" I plea. Erza and Gray look up and vigorously shake their heads. She just laughs, "Natsu there's a buffet down stairs." Lisanna says teasingly. To this Natsu springs out of bed, looks around, grabs his shirt and bursts through the door. "I'M FREE!" I shout sprawling out on the bed. "Lisanna~ why'd you do that?" Gray complains. Erza frowns disapprovingly. "Well the train will be leaving soon, so we have to be ready and catch it in time." Lisanna explains.
"It doesn't matter what the reason is, I really need to pee!" I say jumping off the bed and sprint to the bathroom, pulling the shirt down to cover myself. They all start laughing again, and I'm pretty sure it's about the shirt. I enter the bathroom and close the door behind me, I do my thing and I change back into yesterday's clothes. The jeans and the sweater. I wash my face from sleep.
I come out of the bathroom with the shirt neatly folded in my arms and head to the room next door. I take the room key Natsu left on the desk and leave the room. I knock on the door to my original room. Luckily Erza opened up. "Hey Erza." I greet the redhead who opened the door. "Hello Lucy." Erza replies with a smile and steps aside to let me in. I thank her and walk over to my things which have been placed aside in the corner beside the desk. "Did you sleep well?" Erza asks me. "Ya I did actually…" I say opening my bag. "… That is until I was woken up by you and Gray. By the way how did you even get in the room if Natsu had the key?"
I look over my shoulder at Erza. Her eyes are wide like she never thought of it. And it looks like she's going to say the first thing that pops into her head. "Gray made a key to fit the hole!" Erza blurts out. 'I guessed it' I thought to myself. And give off a low chuckle. "Well alright then." I say sarcastically. I straiten up the contents of my bag and place the shirt in. I then get up to grab my soaps that were forgotten in the bathroom. After returning with those, I place them in my bag. I looked around the room to make sure I didn't forget anything, until I feel satisfied and leave with Erza to get breakfast.
Already in the dinning hall, Natsu is stuffing his face, Gray finishing his meal, and Lisanna getting hers from the buffet. Erza and I walk over to the buffet table to get our morning meals. I'm not really hungry this morning, so I don't fill my plate. I grab some eggs, bacon, and toast. Erza takes more than me plus hash browns. Before I could turn around towards the table, Natsu yells over at me with a mouth full of food, "Lush, get mef mor'ph bacon!" I take another plate and put about 5-7 pieces on it. Knowing, not to skimp out. We take our seats across from Gray, Natsu and Lisanna.
After sitting down I place Natsu plate of bacon near the rest of his food. Though with all the food he has there he doesn't realize, but continues to stuff his face. I then begin to eat my own food. After we all finish breakfast we head back to our rooms to grab our things. During that process Natsu realizes he had forgotten to get their room key, after Erza beat him up I pulled the key out of my pocket and open the door for the boys. After grabbing our things we pay for the rooms and hand back the keys, and make our way to the train station.
It was a very gloomy day. The sky was grey with clouds, and the air was humid. Not a lot of people were out on the street. And you couldn't hear any birds chirping sweet noises into the air. Lisanna and Erza were talking and laughing with each other at the front of our group. Natsu and Gray were arguing (AGAIN) at the back of the group, Because they were walking slower. Me, I was in the middle. Feeling sorta bored, I was looking around kinda enjoying the gloomy setting. I stare up at the sky waiting for it to open up and pour. As a child I would play out in the rain, I'd dance, skip, jump in puddles in my over sized boots.
Before I realized it we reach the train station. Erza heads off to get our tickets, Lisanna walks over to the boys, in an attempt get them to stop their fighting. I look around again, there's still not a lot of people out'n'bout. I smell the air, and it smells like rain. 'To bad.' I think looking back up at the sky. "Hey Luce. What are you looking at?" Natsu asks coming to my side starring at the sky. "The sky." I say still looking at the sky. "Why?" he asks like it's a stupid idea. "It's going to rain." I tell him.
He looks over at me, "How do you know that?" he asks amazed. I turn to face him smiling. "I can smell it!" I say like a victory. At first he looks confused, he then smells the air. He looks back at me like I'm crazy. "I can't smell it!" He exclaims annoyed. I giggle at him, and his confusion intensifies. "I think you're lying." He says sceptically. "It's not something that has a smell flame brain, its' something that's in the temperature." Gray says coming over to us, with Lisanna behind. "Not a lot of people can smell it." "Ya?! And how do you know that, Ice prick?!" Natsu Questions, his annoyance increasing. "Juvia told me." Gray says proudly.
"Alright I got the tickets, let's get going." Erza says, coming out from the middle of now where, startling me. "Kaaaay!" I jump behind Natsu. He just stands there laughing, but suddenly stops and turns green. My guess is he remembered he had to ride the train. "Come'on Natsu." I say pushing him in the direction of the train we need to ride home. "Time to go home!" I cheer. "Can't we walk!?" Natsu asks panicked, trying to get away. But now I have Gray pushing Natsu with me.
We finally manage to get Natsu on the train, and the second that occurred he was immobilized. Yup that's right he couldn't walk. He immediately found his face to the floor. Honestly if he weren't my best friend (or crush) I would have left him there. But nope I was the sorry sap who had to lug his ass to the compartment. But in there I left him on the floor, and sat on the bench, next to Lisanna. Gray and Erza across from us. Exhausted I heaved a sigh. The train lurks into motion. "Uggggggghhhhh." Natsu moaned lying on the floor.
I look at the window seeing as the first rain drops began to hit the window. I look over at Natsu, "I told you it was going to rain." I say rubbing it in, and then I go back to continue watching the rain pour hit the window. "Luuuusssshhhhiiieeee." "Yes Natsu?" I ask looking at him. "Yoooouuurrrr….. Meeaaaan." He says stretching out his words. "Yes, you've told me that before." I say with a tick mark on my forehead. "Here everyone." Erza says, handing out our share's of the reward earned. "Thanks Erza!" I say.
When we finally made it back to Magnolia and the train finally stopped, Natsu jumped up and out of the train faster then you can say 'aye'. The rest of us gather our things and get off the train. When we get of Natsu is just standing out in the rain (drenched) looking fresh. "Feel better Natsu?" I ask him as I walk passed him into the rain. Because of how hard the rain was hitting me, my hair was already stuck to my face and neck. I begin to sprint my way to my apartment, saying going bye and that I'll meet them at the guild later. "Lucy! Wait!" I hear Natsu trying to catch up to me. So I stop and wait for the Pinkette to catch up. When he does catch up, we continue to run to my apartment.
Finally we reach the apartment. We both step through the front door of the building soaked through our clothes, laughing. Were stomping our feet in an attempt to get some of the mud of our shoes and onto the rug. We make our way up the stairs to my apartment. When I get the door open immediately Happy attacks us. "Natsu! Lushie!" Happy cries out, hugging our torsos. "Hey Happy!" I say patting his head. "Happy! I missed ya bud!" Natsu exclaims taking Happy into his arms. "Come'on you two inside." I say walking into my apartment.
I head to the bathroom after shutting the door behind Natsu who came in giving Happy a noogie. I enter the bathroom a make my way to the closet for some towels. I grab 3. When I come back out Natsu is taking his pack off his back, and Happy is hovering in the air above him talking. I assume it's about the mission he took with Wendy and Carla. I hand him a towel, though I know he could easily heat himself up to dry. He uses it anyway. I take one towel and place it on the back of the couch, and take the other one to my hair.
Once I finish my hair I walk over to my closet to grab some clothes to change into. I make my way to the bathroom and look over at Natsu drying his luggage. "I'm going change, ok?" I say to him. He looks up and nods his head. I enter the bathroom lock the door, and strip out of my wet clothes. I then begin to dry off my body, when I think I'm dry enough I put my fresh clothes on. I have dark blue skinny jeans, and a light blue spaghetti strap with riffles. I then make my way to the counter for my hair brush and brush my hair down not bothering to put it up in its usual fashion.
I exit the bathroom to see Natsu in the middle of changing his shirt. A blush spreads across my face. "I'm sorry!" I blurt out. I turn my back to him and go to re-enter the bathroom to get away. "Naw it's alright." Natsu says nonchalantly. I stop I my tracks and turn around, and he's standing there smiling that smile that says "I don't care about anything." He finishes putting on his shirt, while I walk over to my suit case to unpack its contents.
When I come back from putting my bath soaps away, I notice the shirt Natsu let me borrow on top of the pile. "Hey Natsu." I say, picking the shirt up. "Here's your shirt back." I continue to say with my arm stretched out for him. He was busy talking with Happy, although he looked up at the shirt I was referring to, then to me. His face shown a hint of sadness, but then brightens up. "I'll leave it here with you." He says proudly. "But, I thought you said this is your favourite shirt?" I question him, ever so slightly losing confidence in my out-stretched arm, as it begins to sag. "That's why I can trust you to take care of it." He says. "Besides it's not going to get washed at our place, Right Happy?" he asks Happy looking over at him. "Aye sir!" Responds Happy eating a fish he pulled out from his green pack.
"Alright fine." I say, turning back to my bag to grab the rest of my dirty clothes. Then I go to the bathroom to place them in the hamper. I come back out to see that there is no longer Natsu or Happy. I look around the room, 'His things are still here.' Then I hear a noise from the kitchen, "No." I hiss under my breath. I run to the doorway of the kitchen. And within the short minute when I left, the room say already covered in thrown food. And there standing in the middle of the room are the culprits. They see me standing there, looking enraged, and immediately pin the blame on each other. "I WAS GONE FOR A MINUTE!" I shout at them. They flinch in fear.
"It was an honest mistake Luce." Natsu laughs nervously. "Lushie's going to kill us." Happy cried behind Natsu's back. "I will if you don't clean up the mess the two of you made." I say menacingly. "Aye!" and they run around cleaning what they could. Of course I'll have to re-clean later anyway.
When they finish, which didn't take long, by the way they did a terrible job. We decide to leave and head to the guild. I grab my biggest umbrella, and my rain boots. Though I don't wear them often enough. Their blue with black poke-a-dots and have a rubber bow with the same design on the side. The umbrella is white with a purple swirl making its way to the center. Natsu and I walk out the apartment door, with Happy sitting on my shoulder. Natsu is holding the umbrella because I'm shorter than he is.
Walking towards the guild we pass the store I've been looking at for the passed week. I stop to face the window when we pass under the awning. Natsu keeps walking talking about how much he wants to beat Gray up. And Happy looks at me funny. "Lushie what are you doing?" Happy asks me. At this Natsu turns around realising I'm no longer walking beside him. "Come'on Luce, they're probably waiting on us." Natsu yells go unheard by me and Happy.
"See there is a pair of Sound Enhancement Lacrima in there that I have had my eye on for a while." I say pointing to a pink headset. "Oh you mean like the things Laxus wears?" Happy says eyeing the headset. "Seriously Guys! Lets go!" Natsu whines from behind us. "Don't be inpatient Natsu; I was just checking the price." I say walking back under the umbrella. "What were you looking at again?" He asks as we continue our walk to the guild. "It's called Sound Enhancement Lacrima. It's a headset that allows you to listen to music." I inform Natsu, with hand gestures. "Like the thing Laxus wears around his head?" Natsu asked trying to grasp the concept.
"Yes except they are a newer version, so the Lacrima that contains the music is actually attached to the headset. Where the version Laxus has, the Lacrima is attached to any part of the body, and the spikes that stick out are antennae. I asked him." I explain to him. He just looks to darn confused. "Why would you want something like that?" He says it like the topic is ridiculous.
"Have you ever heard real music Natsu?" I ask him raising an eyebrow. "Sure I have!" he says defensively. "I've heard Gajeel." "He doesn't count." I say deadpanning. "Mmmmmm… No." He says frowning. "Ok well everybody has their kind of music that they like. Take Gajeel for example he like the Jazz and Blues genre. Are you understanding me so far?" I ask. He just nods his head. "Ok well, some music has lyrics, or words to sing to the tune of the song, or they can choose not to. The words they add to theirs songs have meaning to them. Something that describes the persons past, dreams, or even relationships with other people."
"Why would they sing something about their relationship with a person? It's that like personal or something?" Natsu interrupts. "I'm not really sure but other people who listen to their music can relate their own lives to that song." I watch him as he mulls this over in his head. "That's just silly! Then why done they Wright their own music to say that?" he asks. I just shrug my shoulders, saying that I didn't know myself.
We enter the guild and already they're having a bar fight. Though there was a corner untouched by the drunken members, which consisted of Levy, Wendy, Juvia, with Carla and Pantherlily. Happy speeds off with a newly caught fish for Carla. I look over at Natsu and he looks like he's just itching to get in there. I take the umbrella away from him close it and say, "Go on." I gesture to the current location of the fight. He smiles and runs off. I place the umbrella in the umbrella bin, and walk towards the table in the corner.
When my appearance becomes known, I'm immediately jumped by Levy. "I missed you Lu!" she shouts in my ear. "Calm down Levy I wasn't gone that long." I say prying the Blunette off of me. "Ya but you were gone long enough to make me go crazy over the next chapter you have to show me!" she says with glee. Then her face drops. "Though, I was supposed to see it when you left the other day." She says accusingly. I nervously laugh. "Why don't you come by tomorrow, and I'll show you then. Plus we could catch up with each other."
Levy agrees to this and we finally sit down with the others. "Hi girls, and Pantherlily." I say politely they all greet me back with, hello's and hey's and head nods and a sweet 'good afternoon' from Wendy. We spend about 15 minutes chatting until Lisanna comes over.
Lisanna's POV
It's about mid afternoon and the guild just broke out in another fight. But there's still no sign of either Natsu or Lucy. It hasn't stopped pouring since the train. But other than that they guild has been the same.
Finally Natsu and Lucy arrive. And immediately seeing them together gives me I sick feeling. They look like a family. Natsu, the husband, holding the umbrella for his wife and child. Happy, the child, in his mothers arms. And Finally Lucy, the mother, caring for their child, and taking charge of her family. 'That should be me.' I angrily thought. 'I should be with Natsu, where he fauns over me and not her!' the anger can be shown on my face, so I go in the kitchen to cool off.
After coming out I look around to find Natsu brawling with the other members of the guild. In another corner of the guild, Lucy is chatting with the other girls who don't get involved in the guilds antics and with my plan in mind I walk over pen and pad in hand. "Hey girls" I greet the girls with a semi real smile. "Hey." They all respond. "Can you girls anything?" I offer. "No thank you." Levy says politely. Wendy asks "Could I have some fries?" I nod my head saying, "Sure." "Juvia would like a glass of water!" Juvia says happily. "Sure Juvia." "Some tea please" Carla asks. Happy doesn't pay me any attention, because he's to busy goggling over Carla. And Pantherlily shakes his head no. Finally Lucy speaks up "Could I have a strawberry and banana smoothy please. Oh and some Fries too." She says smiling. "Alright I'll be back soon."
I head back to the kitchen to prepare their orders.
After some time I come back out with their orders. Water for Juvia, fries for Wendy, tea for Carla, and a strawberry and banana smoothy for Lucy. I make my way back to the table with the girls. "Alright here we go." I say repeating their orders as I sat down each of their food. When I'm done I take my leave headed to the drinking contest across the guild smiling wickedly to myself.
Lucy's POV
"So Wendy how was the mission with Romeo?" I say teasingly. In mid-fry Wendy freezes and blushes a scarlet red, almost like Erza's hair. "W-w-what?!" Wendy stutters. "Awwww~ you're so cute when you're nervous." I say holding my hands to my face, with my eyes closed. "Lucy quit scaring the poor girl!" Levy says sternly from beside me. "I was just teasing." I say with puffed out cheeks.
I take some fries and chew on them. "Man, I haven't had fries in a long while." I say with a mouth full. "Juvia doesn't like fries." She says looking my fries with disgust. "Why?" I ask holding out a fry to examine it. "Juvia doesn't like potatoes. Juvia doesn't like how they grow in the ground. Just like carrot's, Juvia wont eat carrot's." she says looking off in the distance like she's remembering something that once happened. "Well I guess that makes sense." I reach for my smoothy and take a sip.
I pull away from the drink looking at it funny. "What's wrong Lu?" Levy asked obviously seeing my face of distaste. "It tastes funny." I say looking to levy. Levy holds her hand out silently asking for the drink to try. I give her the drink and after she takes a sip she too looks at it funny. "That does taste funny." Now everyone at the table looks at me funny. "Juvia wants to know what the problem is?" Juvia speaks up. Levy hands the drink to Juvia. "Try that." Levy demands.
Juvia takes a long sip. Pulls away and says, "Juvia wants to know what's in it?" Looking at the glass in discuss. "Could I try?" Wendy asks eyeing the drink. "Juvia thinks so." Juvia says holding out the smoothy to Wendy who said, "Thank you." And took the drink. After taking a small sip, she holds her tongue out and stretched the drink out as far away from her as possible. I gently take it back from her, and notice that there's only half a glass left. I finish the glass despite its taste.
After a couple of hours I head home for the night.
Lisanna's POV
'Darn' I think to myself. 'Well I suppose my plan could still work even if a few people weren't affected.' I look over at Natsu and get ready to set stage two into action.
Okay so plenty of things going on. Things concerning with Lucy getting the Sound Enhanced Lacrima, send my a review or comment as to what you think Lucy's type of music is. Suggestions are always welcomed. I hope you loved the fluff i put in here! I litterally couldn't stop smiling when i wrote this chapter. The next few chapter plans to be shorter so hope for sooner updates. (That is if I don't gets writers block.) But keep checking in!
