Tom was brushing her hair when Bella walked in, carrying bags and wearing a heavy frown.
"She's still asleep?" Bella asked, scrunching her nose up when she saw Hermione.
"I had to give her something again," he said, not bothering to look her way. "She was going to hurt herself."
Bella narrowed her eyes, "Severus said too much medication won't be good for her either."
"Severus needs to keep his thoughts to himself," Tom replied coldly. "I know what she can handle." Tom continued to stroke her hair, causing Bella's lips to tightened at the scene.
She hated the way Tom looked at the girl. Bella had known Tom for years, and not a single time, did he ever look at her or even touch her as gently as he did Hermione. She had spend countless nights with him, and yet, Tom still treated her as he did everyone else. He treated them with indifference, while he was giving Hermione, the girl who worked alongside Potter, his full attention.
"I brought the things you asked for," she finally said.
That finally made him look away from his precious girl. "Let me see them," he held out his hand expectantly, and Bella handed him the bags she carried. "I took as much clothes as I could, they're in this one," she looked pointedly at one of the bags, scowling at the memory of being in the girls apartment.
"Was anything out of the ordinary?" he asked, already focusing his attention on the contents of one of the smaller bags. He smiled when he saw the small glass bottles filled with clear liquid. He had asked Severus to get him the bottles, they would come in handy later.
"Everything was where you told me it would be," she forced her words to sound polite. "But I think they'll realize she's missing soon. She had a message from a boy in her answering machine." Bella paused and added, "Though, you could have warned me about the cat hanging from the ceiling."
Tom frowned slightly, "Shame he tried clawing at me so much, I wanted her to keep the hideous thing."
"It clawed at you?" Bella gasped, "Are you okay?"
"Don't be stupid," he said. "Of course I'm okay. Did you leave the letter?"
Bella smiled, "Taped it to the cat."
Tom smiled at that, "She loved that damn cat." He turned to the girl on the bed, "How long will Lucius be? I want to leave soon."
"Soon." Bella hesitated before she asked, "How did she react? When she first woke up I mean."
"She was calm at first," he stroked the girls cheek. "I told her about leaving soon and it scared her."
"She punched Draco when they were in middle school," Bella mused, "I'm surprised she didn't try and fight."
Tom wondered what Lucius's son did to piss off his beauty, and made a note to ask later. "She tried to. I had to hold her down and up the dosage."
He frowned at Hermione, who not too long ago had begun to cry. She had tried to pull the needle out of her arm, but Tom had stopped her.
"Don't do that," he warned, "You'll hurt yourself."
She hadn't replied, instead tried to push him off.
"Hermione," he had said sternly. "Stop this foolish behavior, you're going to hurt yourself."
She didn't listen to him. She kept pushing him and resorted to trying to jump out of the bed. Tom had to wrap his arm around her and push her back into bed. Her feet began to kick at him when he held her arms down. "Help!" she shouted. "Please! Someone help!"
"Stop it!" he hissed, becoming angry. Why was she acting like this? He told her he wanted her, he liked her, she should've been happy. He loosened his grip when he saw tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hermione," he said, his voice becoming softer. She thrashed against him, trying to free herself from his grip, "You need to calm down love."
When she didn't stop struggling, Tom continued to speak gently, hoping her screams would stop. "You're going to be okay. I'm going to take care of you sweet girl. Stop fighting Hermione. Please stop fighting."
"Lucius better be here before she wakes up again," Tom said. "I don't want to cause another panic in her, it'll be better if she wakes up after we've arrived."
A/N: Thank you for reading, and an extra thanks to those who have reviewed! I wasn't sure where I was going with this story, and I actually have another chapter written up where Hermione escaped. It's twice as long as this one but I didn't like it at all by the end. It sounded way too forced, even for me, but let me know if you guys want to read it anyways. I can PM it to anyone who may be curious about it.
Thanks again and sorry this chapter was so short, the next one will be longer!
