Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I didn't update this sooner, but I haven't watched Naruto in so long so I had to watch a few episodes to get the character's personalities back? I don't like writing OOC unless it's called for or the fanfic isn't as real. In my opinion anyways.

Shikamaru was the first to wake up. His eyes were barely open; his head killing him from the initial blast, and the landing didn't help either.

The genius looked around to try and figure out where the others were, but only spotted TenTen a few yards away from him. He swore under his breath as he got up and made his way the the weapons expert.

"TenTen, wake up." He called to her as he kneeled down next to her and turned her over so she was on her back. When he saw the gash on her neck he started shaking her a bit more urgently. "TenTen!"

"Nng… what happened?" She asked, her voice hoarse and gravelly. Probably from the landing, Shikamaru mentally deduced.

"Paper bomb or something."

"And the others?" She asked as she tried to sit up, only to wince in pain and lay back down.

"Not sure. We're the only ones over here."

"If nothing else Neji can find us." TenTen said with a strained yet confident voice. Shikamaru saw the wound on her neck start to expel more blood and cursed before getting a roll of bandages and some gauze from his supply pack on his leg.

"You have a gash on your neck, I'm gonna have to patch it up. It's gonna have to be a bit tight to slow the bleeding, but it shouldn't cut off circulation." He told her as he put the gauze on the wound, looking her in the eyes as she nodded to show she understood.

Neji was the second to wake up. Temari hadn't yet and that's what he was fearing what with her already having a concussion.

He started slowly moving his limbs to see if anything was broken, which nothing was, before standing up and moving to Temari, leaning back down and turning on his byakugan to check her over.

"Good, nothing broken, but…" He looked closer at her head, "the concussion is a little worse than before and she needs water if she's going to survive this."

"Neji?" He turned his byakugan off and helped her sit up a bit. "Neji where are we? Where are the others? Gaara and Kankuro?"

"We got separated from the blast. I'm sure they're fine, especially Gaara and Kankuro. If we survived, they definitely did." He told her while hoping he wouldn't find out otherwise later. He was mainly worried about TenTen. She had just gotten over a pretty nasty respiratory infection, and he hoped that she wasn't on her own or with Naruto. Actually, he hoped that she was with Shikamaru at the very least. The genius ninja would know what to do in case of an emergency.

Gaara had never actually hit the ground thanks to his sand, but he was knocked out for a few seconds from the initial blast being too fast and sudden for his sand to protect him from. Kankuro was still unconscious from the blast, but Gaara had managed to keep him from hitting the ground as well.

"Kankuro." He called as he walked over to his brother. He groaned and put a hand on the side of his head as he sat up.

"I feel like I just got hit by a wall of bricks…" He mumbled as he woke up a bit more and looked around. "Hey, where are the others?"

"Somewhere. I can probably search from the air."

"Your voice was about as dismissive as it can get." Kankuro grumbled as he stood up and tried to figure out if he had any injuries.

"I caught you with my sand, you aren't going to have any extensive injuries." Gaara told him before walking around and studying their surroundings. "We should probably find the others before it gets dark."

"Right." Both of them sset off in the general direction of the path they had taken before getting blown up, hoping for clues to where the others had gotten thrown.

Naruto woke up in a daze. He remembered walking with everyone else and then… Paper bomb!

He jumped into a standing position and looked around frantically. He couldn't see anyone, he was all alone!

"TenTen? Neji, Shikamaru!" He yelled as he ran around in no specific directions. "Gaara! Kankuro, Temari!" He kept running around, shouting names in hopes of someone hearing him.

"Gaara! Kankuro!" Said ninja turned to the direction of the voice before turning to each other.

"Naruto." The sand ninja took off in the direction of the voice, Kankuro taking up the rear and shouting back .

"Naruto! Where the hell are you?!" he shouted as they got closer to him and his voice got louder.

"Kankuro?!" There were fast footsteps running towards them and soon Naruto was visible. Only Naruto, the sand brothers realized.

"Where's Temari? Everyone else?" Gaara asked when the blonde was in front of them. All they got was a confused and concerned look.

"I was hoping they were with you." Gaara sighed at Naruto's answer.

"Well let's get going and find them." Kankuro said, his mind racing at the fact that they couldn't find Temari.

"Right." Naruto and Gaara said simultaneously before the three of them set off.

Shikamaru looked in the direction he had heard the shouts. Naruto had been yelling their names and he thought he had heard Kankuro shouting Naruto's. They were close. He figured if they just headed off in that direction that they would eventually meet up.

"Alright, TenTen, can you stand?" He asked her. She nodded and summoned all of her strength to stand. She was wobbly when she finally got to her feet and Shikamaru doubted she would be able to stand much longer, much less walk.

"Got it." She said, panting and trying to not fall over.

"No you don't, you look precarious at best." Shikamaru turned around and kneeled down in front of her. "Get on."

"Shika-"

"Quit arguing. I'm not gonna get my ass handed to me by Neji just because I took your stubborn word. It's really not worth the risk. So get on." He told her with a commanding voice that had no room for argument. TenTen knew this and sighed before climbing on his back, Shikamaru standing up and keeping a safe hold of her legs to prevent her from falling off.

"Thanks." She told him while wrapping her arms loosely around his neck for some extra leverage. He hummed in response as he started running in the direction of the voices he had heard, hoping he wouldn't lose them or get lost himself.
