Chapter 3: Figuring Out the Horcruxes

Enjoy and please review!

"What about something related to his father?" George asked, suddenly. The group had been on the run from Harry's father, godfather, uncle, and Mad Eye for two weeks. The group was exhausted, and it took everyone a few minutes to understand what he was asking. They were Horcrux hunting, and so far, they had no ideas. They sat and thought about it for a few moments.

"It's possible," said Harry, "He hates his father, so no one would look for a horcrux to be something of his father's."

"I still can't believe he was a liar. I mean he's a half-blood," said Cho.

"Well, he is Voldemort," said Ron, "The lying isn't anything surprising, but the lie itself is surprising." Everyone nodded. They fell silent. "I guess that means we have to go to visit his old house." Harry sighed. And everyone looked at him.

"What's wrong…." started Fred.

"Harrykins?" finished Fred.

"You guys shouldn't have to put yourself in danger. I can do it on my own," said Harry, and everyone glared at him. Ginny slapped him. "Ginny!?"

"You are not going through this alone. We WILL help you and you WILL let us. Or I'll slap you until you let us," said Ginny angrily. Harry mutely nodded. Everyone fell silent after that confrontation. It was hard to find things to talk about when you're in this kind of situation. The small things that you usually talk about are so trivial now. Ron hadn't even brought up Quidditch. None of the boys had, or Ginny. Usually that was all they talked about. Fred and George hadn't pranked anyone yet either. The happy-go-lucky nature of the teens had left soon after they started this suicidal and impossible quest. The horcruxes were Voldemort's most precious possessions. How could they find them all? They knew there were seven, but that was it.

James Charlus Potter, Sirius Orion Black, Remus John Lupin, and Mad-Eye Moody were annoyed. They lost the teens' trail again, and they still had to deal with Death Eaters. The teens were really started to bug them. Especially how the one called "Harry" looked exactly like James. Except for his eyes. He had Lily's eyes. James, Remus, and Sirius all felt like they were missing something big. Something so obvious that they would feel stupid for not seeing it. And what had he meant by James and Sirius being dead? He acted like Sirius had just died in front of his eyes, and ha had sounded so heartbroken about it too.

"What are they looking for?" Sirius asked annoyed, "They keep bouncing around at random. It's giving me a headache. And I'm exhausted. And hungry. And I haven't played, watched, or talked about Quidditch in weeks!" James looked at him and chuckled. All of their frustrations were ok there. They were all exhausted, and he wanted to be with Lily. And Quidditch was life. No, his life was his baby Jarry. He was almost a year old. In a month. Would James be back in a month? Would any of them be back in a month? Would he be alive in a month?

"Don't look so gloomy?" Remus said, "We'll be back before you know it. And it won't take a month."

"How do you know what I'm thinking?" James asked, smiling.

"Because I'm your friend."

Regulus Black was sitting in the living room with a baby Harry. Harry had crawled into his lap over an hour ago, and he had not moved since. It seemed that Harry like Regulus, and Regulus was not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Peter Pettigrew came through the floo and promptly tripped. Regulus rolled his eyes. Luckily Peter didn't see it. He was shocked to see Regikus there and he narrowed his eyes. Fortunately for Peter, Regulus did not know he was a Death Eater. Harry clung tighter to Regulus as Peter came closer, and he whimpered when Peter tried to take him from Regulus. Regulus became suddenly overprotective of Harry, and he waved Peter off. He saw Peter griffin his teeth in annoyance, and he wondered when Peter became so bold.

Lily entered and greeted Peter warmly, but Regulus' eyes narrowed. He could have swore he saw Peter at one of the meetings, but maybe not. Something was definitely not right here. Harry started to scream when Peter hugged Lily. Lily immediately rushed over to Harry and picked him up. Harry clung to Lily and glared (since when did babies glare, Regulus wondered) at Pettigrew. Something was definitely not right. It was said babies and dogs were the best judges of character, and Peter Pettigrew seemed to be failing. Miserably. Regulus went to leave the room, but one of Harry's chubby hands matched onto his shirt sleeve. He raised his eyebrows, but he remained put. No need to upset him more.

Peter chatted with Lily for a few more minutes before he regretfully had to leave. He flooed to his house and then he apparated to the meeting with Voldemort. "I found some new information on your runaway servant, Regulus Black. He's at the Potters' house. Unfortunately they are under the Fidelius Charm, and I am not the Secret Keeper. And if we wanted to get Potter, then I have to remain in his trust," said Peter Pettigrew.

"This is interesting news indeed. It seems our dear Regulus has ran off to his brother, and somehow, his brother had decided to help the brat. But no worries. He will pay soon enough," said Voldemort.

Harry and his friend were thinking of ideas for Voldemort's Horcruxes. They found nothing besides his father's item. "Dumbledore mentioned that he was interested in the heirlooms of the Founders of Hogwarts. Slytherin would be too obvious, and he would never associate with Gryfindor. And he mentioned two possible Horcruxes. So maybe Helga Hufflepuff's cup and Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem," said Harry.

"Yeah, the cup is in Bellatrix's vault, and the diadem went missing around the same time Voldemort started rising to power," said Hermione.

"Do we have to break into Gringots and Hogwarts. Bloody brilliant," said Ron.

"It'll be fine. We can ride the dragon," Luna said, and everyone looked at her strangely. She giggled as she watched the Nargles dance around her head.

"Nagini might be one too," said Neville, after a few more ideas were thrown out, "He never lets her leave his side. Unless she is going to kill someone for him. And then no one but that person is around. "

"True," said Cho, "Like Arthur Weasley."

"What about the last one?" Ginny asked, and everyone fell silent.

"Maybe another notebook," Cho tentatively suggested.

"Not likely. Since he already had his diary," said Hermione, "Maybe a book."

"He wasn't much of reader. Except for the dark stuff," said Harry, "Anything from his mom?"

"He never had anything of his mom's," said Hermione. They sighed.

"Maybe it's time…."

"For bed."

Everyone agreed, and they went to their tents to try to sleep. It was restless at best and nonexistent at worst. It didn't last long either way. The four aurors tracking the dogs them again, and they had to duel a little before everything was packed away. And then they apparated away. Sirius cursed loudly.

Hope you enjoyed it. Please review!
