AN: Wow, it's been a while since I've written one of these! Hopefully I'll start having more and more to post, since I'm finally playing Dissidia and keep getting silly ideas. Like this one.
Sunny Rose
3. Flowers
It took every ounce of Tidus's admittedly small willpower not to laugh at Firion when he finally showed up in the nook somewhere in Lunar Subterrane they'd claimed as their camping spot for the night. Cloud raised an eyebrow, not bothering to hide his amused smile, while Cecil cleverly hid his chuckle behind a cough.
Not trusting either of the others to speak, Cloud cleared his throat and asked: "Where did you find all of those?"
Firion carefully shifted the large potted flowers in his arms, trying to get a better hold on them. Several branches continued to jut out and poke into his hair and one of the beautifully large red roses kept threatening to smack him in the eye. All of his efforts were in vain, as the plants were just too large to carry comfortably.
But still, Firion smiled at his friends. "I found them on my way though Pandaemonium. They were just sitting there in one of the corners and I couldn't stand the thought of leaving them there to die, so I decided to bring them with me until I can find a suitable location."
"They're certainly… something," Cecil remarked, failing to keep his amusement from his voice.
Tidus couldn't look at Firion without starting to laugh, so he looked anywhere but at the weapons master. He couldn't help it! The flowers were just so big. It was like Firion was trying to disguise himself as some kind of strange tree!
Cloud, on the other hand, frowned, no longer so amused by the turn of events. "It seems kind of convenient, doesn't it? Your favorite plants showing up in such an odd place. Like they were put there for a reason."
A laugh cut through the air and the three seated Cosmos warriors hurried to their feet, prepared for whatever was about the come their way. Cloud reached back for his buster sword, grasping the hilt but not removing it from it's place. Cecil prepared to shift into his Dark Knight form. Tidus got into his fighting stance but didn't summon his shimmering blue blade to his hand.
Firion narrowed his eyes as the Emperor appeared before them. As the man began to go on about the futility of trying to defeat him and something about how genius his plans were - but by that point the four Cosmos warriors had started to tune him out and praying for the fight to start.
Knowing that they would get nowhere if they just allowed the Emperor to ramble on, Firion turned around and pushed the potted plants into Tidus's arms. "Hold these," he instructed.
The young man blinked in surprise, staring first at the alarmingly large bushes and then at Firion's retreating back. Unable to pass up the chance to make a joke, Tidus called after his friend:
"I've got your flowers, babe. Kick his ass!"
