Chapter 3: Skies of Vengeance

String sat in a bed in his cabin on the airship. It took a bit of time for him to get himself on the airship unseen, but his need for vengeance was too great to care about getting caught. As he sat on the bed with his sword laying on his shoulder, he remembered the last words Ayane had told him right before he left the ninja fortress.

"The Holy Vigoor Empire, a strange dictatorship veiled in secrecy. Its exclusionist foreign policy makes for very few ways to enter the country. One of the only remaining routes is by airship, to capital city of Tairon."

As the words echoed in his head, the lightning and thunder outside grew fiercer with each passing moment. But, in the storm above, another airship descends toward the transportation airship, and they have many men ready to fight. Out of those men, there was a large and mechanical looking man who was jettisoned from the top airship and onto the roof of the other. The sudden impact got Strings attention. He felt something coming for him, and it made him very uneasy.

String's POV

I felt something hit the roof and that's kinda cause for concern right about now. I grabbed my sword and placed it on my back. I left the room and looked at both ends of the hall. Man, now that I actually look at all this fancy crap, it really looks like the decorator was really into weird designs.

I searched through most of the rooms until I found one with big windows and a chest lying on the floor. I went and opened it to find a map for the airship.

"Kind of a weird place to have a map, but I'm not complaining." I said to myself as I grabbed the map and was getting ready to leave.

Suddenly, some military dude in black with a shield busted through the window, and another dude in white kicked down the door. I drew my sword out and got ready to fight some bad guys. The guy with the shield was the most difficult, but once I broke his guard I took him out. The white guy wasn't much of a challenge. I left the room and went down the hall until some more of these guys busted through the windows.

"Man, either you guys really hate windows or ya'll like making stupid and over the top entrances." I joked.

They started to attack and I made short work of them, but the last dude dropped a key on the ground. It was shaped like a wing and matched the insignia on the door in front of me. I used the key on the door and made my way through the deck. It looked nice for the most part, but it was kinda freakin me out.

General POV

String looked around for a short time before deciding to go down the stairs on his left. It led him down to a statue of an old man carrying supplies on his back. When String went up to it, he noticed some inscription on the base of it. It was written in a language only a fiend could read.

"To become more powerful," String read aloud, "fiends must kill and consume. I guess that 'consume' part skipped me since I'm a hybrid."

String touched the statue and felt an incredible surge of energy flowing through him. He went back up the stairs and tried to open the double doors at the front. They were locked on his end, so he decided to head to the right side of the room. He found an unlocked door and went through it. He saw another and went through it as well only to find more military men waiting for him.

"Great, just great." String said as he drew his sword out.

He felt that surge of energy fuel his speed and power as he quickly and efficiently killed them all. He looked at his short purple sword and saw a symbol etched on the hilt. He didn't think too much of it and continued through another door that led him in a hallway. He went through another door on the opposite wall and found himself in an office of some sorts.

"I wonder how much this stuff even costs." String said to himself as he looked at the desk. He saw a map and a document near it.

He grabbed the map and read trough the document which talked about the generator on the bottom deck. String saw the elevator and went down a level. He saw what looked like a control room and to his surprise no one was there. String ran through the control room and went down another elevator. This time he ran into the actual control room, but it wasn't empty like before.

"Alrighty then," String started as he unsheathed his blade, "lets get this over with."

String took care of the military men quickly and noticed an id card on the ground. He picked it up and examined it for a moment before noticing that it can go into the door behind him. He used the card on the door and went through it. Once inside he saw that there was nothing of interest in there. String quickly realized that the id card can get him into most of the ship's restricted areas.

"Alright, time to see where these morons are commin from." String said as he left the room and went back up the elevator.

Once he was up a level, he went through a side door on his right using the id card. After another run in with military, String went through another door and found himself in a room with stairs and another statue. This one was like the one he saw back in Murai's dojo. He ignored it and went through the next door to find himself outside on a catwalk.

He went through another door and was in a storage area. String looked around until he saw a hand crank that controlled the storage door. He began to crank but was cut short when more men jumped through the windows and were about to fight him.

"Seriously," String said as they attacked him.

String killed them quickly and continued cranking until the door was completely down. More men appeared on the other side and started shooting at him. He grabbed his bow and fired arrows at them, killing them easily.

String grabbed on to the rope connecting both sides and shimmied to the other side. Once he was there, String ran over and was ambushed by more men. He dealt with them before noticing a window with tape over it. The tape looked like an insult to ninjas.

"Well that's just freakin rude." String said as he threw a shuriken to break it.

He went inside and looked at the various gears and machinery powering the airship. He rubbed his hands together and looked at everything with a sinister look on his face.

"Oh I'm so gonna enjoy this."

He grabbed his sword and started to destroy everything in sight. Once he was done, a man on the intercom said that all doors were unlocked on the airship. When String heard this, he went back to the statue and up the stairs. He proceeded through the double doors and down the hall to the door at the end. He went through and made his way through the area, killing any and all military in his way.

String finally made it to a ladder at the end of the corridor and looked up. He saw a hatch and a side entrance.

"I wonder." He said as he went into the side entrance first. There was a lever that controlled the lock on the hatch. When String hit it, he went up the ladder and went through the hatch to see Dynamo, the fat robotic drone of the military, waiting for him.

"Looks like somebody had way to many Cheetos as a kid." String joked as he went up and drew his sword.

Dynamo fired his laser at String rapidly and all String could do was avoid them as best as he could. He went in close to try and attack the fat robot, but the lasers were coming at him too fast. He had to mainly dodge as best as he could before being able to get in close to attack him.

Unfortunately for Dynamo, String saw a very clear opening and took it as best he could, with a very precise attack. String went in and slashed a cable that was attached to Dynamo's laser. When that happened, Dynamo started to fire sporadically. This gave String all the opportunity to slash right through him.

Dynamo fell and still fired into the air. String sheathed his blade and watched as the robot fired upon it's own ship. He laughed at this until Dynamo exploded and sent an energy wave through the airship. String could only watch as the airship he was on began to crash into a fiery heap on the forest ground.

Long Term Hiatus' Suck. So Sorry I Haven't Posted This Chapter Since March, But Now It's Back. I Really Hope You Guys Like This Crossover Story Well Enough So That More People Are Inspired To Crossover Stuff Like NG And Bleach, Or Anything Really.

Hollows Will Appear In The Next Chapter Along With Fiends.
