Lost In Thought
After Sesshomaru had returned with several skinned and cleaned rabbits, Kagome had spent most of that evening entertaining Rin and stealing glances at the quiet Daiyoukai. How do I always get myself into strange situations? She thought as she watched the tiny child chase Jaken around the fire. Sighing softly, she curled up against Ah-Un and thought about what Sesshomaru had told her earlier.
"Inuyasha has proven to be incapable of sufficiently protecting you. I will be doing so from now on." Why would it matter to the stoic demon lord whether she was sufficiently protected or not? She was aware that she would be needed in the final battle against Naraku, but he had never cared before. Why now? What is going on through that head of yours, Sesshomaru-sama? She thought as she snuck another glance his way. Sighing in defeat, she stood and beckoned Rin over.
"Come on Rin, it's getting late, let's get some sleep," she said, smiling down at the child. Yawning behind her hand, Rin bounced over to Kagome, pulling her down to rest against Ah-Un. After a moment of shifting and squirming, the two cuddled together and drifted off.
On the other side of camp, Sesshomaru watched his ward and the young miko curl together before falling asleep. She is good for Rin… He thought with a slight nod before disappearing under the trees.

A/N: I realize that all these notes are unnecessary as I will be uploading each chapter on one day but… Well I enjoy leaving my thoughts and worries for my readers.
