Chapter 3: Just Another Sweet Dreams.

That day was Friday morning. She almost late because last night she couldn't sleep well. She kept thinking about what had happened last afternoon between Takeru and her, trying to find an answer why she felt something more than usual, something… weird that she's never felt before. As she took a seat, she realized that Takeru hasn't come yet. As she started to think about it, she could feel someone poking her shoulder friendly.

"Ohayo, Hikari-chan!" it was Daisuke. He was so nice with her, but he wasn't nice to Takeru because of their closeness to each other, sometimes.

"Ohayo, Daisuke-kun," she stood up. "How about homework? Have you finished it?"

"With Ken's help, of course!" he said, feeling proud with himself.

She smiled. "Anyway, has Takeru-kun come yet?"

"Takeru again," he said, sighing. "Well, he hasn't come yet," he answered her question. "Well, I must go back to my seat, teacher is coming in five minutes, Ja Ne!"

She went back to her seat before someone's hand covered both of her eyes. She almost shrieked as she heard someone's laughter that she really really know who's.

"Ohayo, Hikari-chan!" the blonde said to her.

"Ohayo Takeru-kun! Anyway, did you have fun last night?" she asked.

He didn't give her an answer, instead he went to his seat. Her seat was next to him, and she followed him. Soon, he started to give her a sad, disappointment expression to her that could be readable very well, which meant that she already asked a wrong question.

'Hikari no Baka*! I shouldn't ask him!' she told herself, regretting to her question.

"Umm, sorry! I didn't mean to –"

She didn't finish her statement as she saw his smile, or should she say, a nice smile. A smile that was not only full with happiness and joy, but also a smile that she's never ever looked at before. She could say, it was the cutest smile that he's ever shared to her.

And she bet that her cheeks were blushing, and her heart was beating so fast.

"Hehe, I guess I can win an oscar, eh?" he said, shrugging.

She can do nothing but blushing, because of his smile. Takeru's eyes wide widen, a bit concern and panic. "Ne? Hikari-chan? What's wrong? Why are you blushing? Are you sick?"

She shook her head. "No, I'm okay, I'm fine! So, was something good happened?" she asked, trying her best to avoid his question about the blush.

But unfortunately, their teacher has come, which meant that the lessons will start soon, and she didn't get the actual answer.

"I will tell the whole story to you during break time," he whispered.

During the lesson, she glanced at him. He was smiling, with his satisfied smile that she's never seen it before. She noticed his glance together along with his smile, and all of this could only make her heart beat faster and worse. His blue eyes and her red eyes were locked together. And she's never known…

She's never known that he has beautiful eyes.

"Well Yagami-san, Takaishi-san, I know that both of you were expert with this lesson, so come to the front and answer the question number 3 and 4." their teacher's voice made her back to reality.

Luckily, both of them could answer that question, so that teacher didn't need to give her lecture. Finally, break time was coming, meant that she'll get her answer.

"Ne, Takeru-kun, you've already promised me that you'll tell the whole story during break time," Hikari stopped him. "So, go on,"

"Well, it is a long story…" he said.

FLASHBACK

"Takeru, hurry up, he is waiting!" Natsuko said.

Takeru sighed. "Yeah…"

He felt so lazy because she wanted him to meet someone, maybe introducing someone. He knew that she still loved his father, but why she was still in denial?

"Don't be lazy, you won't regret it, trust me." she said to him, smiling.

He wondered as he lay his hand on his hair. How come he will be happy to meet stranger that he even doesn't know who? They arrived to the café where the appointment was held. And he felt nothing. No happy, no smile, no sad, really nothing.

"Where is he?" he asked, a bit annoyed.

"Hey, don't be angry! I have told you that you won't regret it, haven't I?" she said.

He still felt annoyed with her smile until he looked someone that he really knew, that has a blonde hair, just like him, and it was his…

"Nii-san? Otousan?" Takeru asked.

Yamato blinked. "Takeru? Okaasan? What are you doing here?" Yamato shouted.

"That is my question! What are both of you doing here?" he asked him as he heard a burst of laughter were coming from their parents.

Both of them just confused with this, looking at their parents curiously as Natsuko told something to them, especially to her younger son and she nudged to his shoulder. "See? I told you that you won't regret it, right?"

Both of them still confused until finally their father cleared his throat and started to say a word "Sit here, you two,"

They nodded, sitting next to each other and feeling nervous, hands on each laps. "First, I must say that we are very sorry for our selfishness to both of you."

Takeru tilted his head. "So, why are you doing this?"

Natsuko cleared her throat. "And you now, although we're not together anymore, but still, we are still a family,' she said as she looked at Yamato. "I'm happy to see you again, Yamato."

The brothers looked at each other, wondering.

Hiroaki continued. "You know, as brothers, I can truly understand that the two of you need some quality time together," he said as he smiled, lowering his voice. "as we also need quality time together sometimes,"

"So, why you make a dinner together tonight?" Takeru was still not surely understood.

Natsuko laughed. "We want to meet the two of you as brothers and family." she said, smiling warmly. "As I also want to show your father if you've grown well, and if your brother had grown well too,"

"But, you –"

Yamato quickly stomped Takeru's feet, smiling against his parents. "I'm glad with this! What a good surprise!"

Takeru followed his brother. "Yeah, me too!"

Then, Natsuko smiled against Yamato. "You know, we might not live together anymore, but you're still my boy, my precious treasure, and will always be my son," she said. "I really miss you, Yamato. And I'm glad to see you're happy with this little dinner,"

Takeru could hear his brother's gasp. Nodding, he made an excuse to the restroom and Takeru followed. There, Yamato sighed, shrugging but smiling.

"You know, you almost made a stupid statement before,"

Takeru shrugged, nudging Yamato's shoulder. "Well, I think it's more than enough to me, although they don't get together."

Takeru felt excited. This was the first time he had a dinner together with a complete family member, after his illusions about the heartwarming family last year. The dinner went well and they shared some story like every dinner usually went on, like every usually family dinner went on. Although they were not together anymore, although they were not living together anymore, but still, they'll always be parents and children, and Yamato and Takeru will always be brothers with the same parents.

END OF FLASHBACK

As he finished his story to her with a smile full of happiness and joy, he could see her nice smile against him. Maybe she could feel and understand with this, but the way she smiled, really made him thinking something more.

"I'm glad to hear it," she said, smiling and clapping both of her hands. "I'm sure you have a nice dinner last night."

What's wrong with him? He felt that his heart beat so fast than usual. The truth was, last night he didn't sleep so well. Not because he was satisfied with the dinner, but because he was thinking about the afternoon. That's why, he came to school late this morning.

"Takeru-kun, are you okay?" she said, waving her hands worriedly.

Takeru blinked. "Hem? I'm okay!" he answered. "Anyway, let's go to eat something, I'm hungry!"

"You bet!" she said, laughing.

She was happy because Takeru was happy, the way he smiled at her, with a joy and happiness, also make her smile grew on her lip. But, she was confused, why he suddenly lost his mind? They arrived to the cafeteria and started to buy something to eat. Laughing and smiling, of course.

Again, she realized something that she's never realized it before.

She realized that he's always been with her, right?
