I showed Allen around Hogwarts and around our house. He was quite intrigued by everything, especially the paintings.

"Have you never seen a magical castle before?" I ask Allen because he just looked so fascinated like he's never seen one before.

"Ugh, I've seen one before," replies Allen nervously.

I smile widely and pat his shoulder. We walk up to the painting to enter our dormitory, and I mutter the password. "Okay! Good, well this is our house. Your room is over there. Ok?"

"Sounds good. Thank you so much for showing me around, Shayla. I really appreciate it." He gives me a wide smile, waving to me.

"You're totally welcome, Allen. If you have any other questions, never hesitate to ask. Good night," I say walking in to the fifth year girl's room.

"Night," He says back.

I'm sitting at the Gryfindor table for breakfast and Allen had just come in and saw me sitting with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Lavi. He looked very confused.

"Come on over, Short Stack!" Lavi says, waving Allen over.

Allen looks around nervously at first, mulling it over. He comes over to where we are sitting and asks, "Why are you sitting with the Gryfindors, Shayla?"

"That's an excellent question, Mr. Walker," says Professor Snape, appearing on the other side of us.

"Oops," I mutter.

"Oops is correct. Go to your table now, Miss Wyre," the man orders, pointing at the Slytherin table. Before we walk away he hands us our schedule for the year.

"Yes Professor." I slug my way back to the Slytherin table with Allen behind me. "What a prick. He hates me and the rest of Gryfindor I swear." I pop my medicine into my mouth, swallowing it, and I glared at the potions master.

"It seems like it," replies Allen, looking at the table with hunger in his eyes.

I look over my schedule, and Allen's too. "Well, let's just eat our breakfast and then we can go to our first class. Thank goodness it's Transfiguration!" I exclaim, looking at my schedule.

"Yeah, hopefully we'll see them there."

"Wait a second. Why do I have Divinations again? I got an O in that class. Wait, its Divinations II? Its on Tuesdays and Thursdays… I don't understand," I mumble out. I stare at my paper strongly trying to figure out of I was seeing it right.

"Hm, it does say Divinations II. Maybe they added that course this year?" questioned Allen in between bites.

After a long morning, we finally get lunch.

"Yes! Lunch!" Ron and I scream to the world, pumping our hands in the air.

"I'm so hungry," I tell the group, my stomach agreeing with the statement.

"Same here," Ron says, his stomach rumbling as well.

"The mails here, guys!" shouts Harry, as the owls came flying in.

"Whoa," Allen and Lavi sigh out, gazing upon the birds.

"It's so beautiful," Allen states.

"Come on, Allen. Let's sit with the Gryfindor's for lunch. Professor Snape's not here so we can eat in peace," I tell Allen, grabbing on to his hand and pulling him to the Gryfindor table.

"Sure thing!" he says to me.

After lunch are Ruins and brooms lessons, for Allen and Lavi at least. I just followed them because I had a free period. I wanted to see how they would do. I pull out my Ruins book and start to study it.

"Hands out, say "up" firmly now," Madam Hooch commands the first years and transfers.

"Up," they all repeat, but it doesn't work on the first time, so they kept saying "up".

I happened to glance up as Lavi's broomstick hits him in the face like in Ron's first year.

"Ouch, sorry, Lavi. I should have warned you that might happen," I apologize to Lavi, hiding my smile behind my book.

"Well why didn't yah?" he demands rubbing his sore face, glancing back at me.

I giggle and say, "Sorry."

"Up," Allen says once more and it flies into his hand. "Madam Hooch, I got it!"

"Congratulations, Mr. Walker. That is one of the quickest takes I have seen for a couple of years. Now, try again, please," requested Madam Hooch, waving her hand to the ground.

"Yes Ma'am." He complies and it takes less time then it did before. He looked so happy.

"Keep repeating that until you have no breaks in your "ups". Five points to Slytherin." She heard mumbling, groaning, and curses spewing from the first years. "First years!" Madam Hooch yells. "Five points from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I will have none of that in my class." She gives a glare to show that she was serious.

"That was a tough first day," states Lavi, walking in to the Gryfindor tower after we had finished dinner.

"Amen to that," I say collapsing down on a couch. "But don't worry, it'll get easier once you get back into the swing of things."

"Shayla, I don't think we're supposed to be in here," Allen suggests, looking nervously over the room.

"Professor McGonagall doesn't care, as long as we aren't disturbing the peace then we're good."

"Are you sure? I just don't want to get into trouble…"

"She's positive, mate. She comes in here all the time. Nothing to worry about," claims Ron, throwing an arm over the whitette.

"Ah, Miss Wyre, I knew I would find you in here. Here this came in through the Owls today after you left the Great Hall," states Professor McGonagall, holding out a small package for me to grab.

"Thanks Professor!" I bellowed out, and I jump up to grab the package. I has my name on it, and it said it was from Adam! I open it to find a diamond necklace and matching earrings, and a note saying,

"My dearest Shayla,

I hope you are having fun at school. I hope these will cheer up your day. Thanks for all the love and support.

With Love,

Earl Adam Smith."

"Aw, that's so sweet of him!" I show the letter to the group just as Professor McGonagall walks out of the room.

"Why does that name have a bad omen to it?" Harry questions, putting a hand to his forehead he continues, "The name just sets my scar off in a bad way."

All of a sudden Allen's eye turned red and cogs appeared around it.

"Um, Allen, what's that?" Hermione asks looking scared.

"I'll explain later," he says while he jumps out of the window quickly followed by Lavi.

That's the last time we see the both of them that night.

A/N: Hello all. I know this re-write isn't the best, but I don't have much to go on. I do not own DGM or Harry Potter, I do own Shayla and her parents. Have a good day
