Schultz gets into the front seat of the car to drive the Kommandant and his fiancé back to Stalag 13. "It's good to see you again, Frau Linkmeyer." Schultz says kindly.
"It's good to see you too, Schultz. Has Colonel Klink been looking after himself while I've been away?" Gertrude asks seriously.
"Yes, he has." Schultz says honestly.
"I've cleared my schedule for today, so we can spend the whole day together. We can do whatever we want. It will give you time to unpack and relax." Wilhelm tells Gertrude.
"That makes me very happy. You look like you've been working too hard. You need to take some time for yourself. I'm glad you're taking today off." Gertrude holds Wilhelm's hand.
"Look at me, Gertrude." Wilhelm says firmly. Gertrude turns slightly towards Wilhelm and looks up at him. Wilhelm cups Gertrude's chin and softly kisses her. He doesn't want to be too demonstrative in front of Schultz. "You are so beautiful."
Gertrude blushes at Wilhelm's words. She hasn't been treated like this for a long time. She's never thought or believed she is beautiful, but she feels beautiful when she's with Wilhelm. She leans against him comfortably. She's sleepy and he's so warm.
"I'm glad you've been looking after yourself, Wilhelm. I worry about you when I'm not here with you." Gertrude murmurs.
"Of course I'm looking after myself. I didn't want you to worry about me." Wilhelm says gently.
