Chapter Three: The Truth of the Matter, Part Two

←0°0—0°0 0°0—0°0→

In all Akari's life, she had always believed that Hikaru was a brat with a somewhat spoil manner and a very pretty brother, who likes to crushes him in hugs.

She would never though that the Hikaru that she knew was simple a mask.

There are things that Akari considered as bad and there are things that she considered as simply unforgivable. Having been born and raise as a girl in Tokyo did much to your innocent. Good thing that her parents are very protective of her as the youngest of the sibling. So, things like manipulation between sibling rivals was something that she had never experiences with before. Still, that didn't mean that Akari is stupid.

In fact, just the opposite. Akari was far too sensitive toward a certain subject. At school, her teachers would say that she's far too polite. At home, her parents would worries that she would meet the wrong crowd. So, all in all, Akari was pretty damn sheltered.

Not to mention, with Hikaru's manipulation in the background, Akari was already like a princess with the way that she was sheltered by both her family members and secretly, Hikaru.

Which explains why she was so frightened out of her mind when she first saw the looks of pure malicious and malevolent in Hikaru's eyes.

'This shouldn't be possible for Hikaru!' Was her first thought. However, her nightmares proven otherwise.

Still, she was still trying to convince herself that this was impossible!

Like, for example, having Hikaru acting like a devil. Or more like having her childhood friend turned into a geek. There is no way that Hikaru would be that type of person! Hikaru was far too much of a brat! She convinced herself.

Yet, the look of an utterly devil in Hikaru's eyes said otherwise... again.

For all this time that they knew each other, Akari has always known that Hikaru was an idiot. However, it seems like she needs to change her opinion about her childhood friends as of now.

It seems like Hikaru was never an idiot. That would be the last word on earth that anyone should use to describe him. And now, Akari know better. Although she wished she didn't. She still has nightmares.

Even since the last times that Hikaru left Akari and ran home with that hell-chilling-expressions on his face, Akari has been having a hard time sleeping without nightmares.

She would wake up in the middle of a night with sweats covered all over her body and panting like she had met the devil himself. Or more like she had run a marathon if she didn't know any better.

But... Still. She still can hope, right? Akari didn't know the full details as to what that woman mean but she could imagine. By the way that Hikaru acts, she has an inking as to what happened.

It was Shouhen-san's fault, somehow.

For her, she knows that Shouhen-san was an idiot. A love-sick idiot who should never have fallen in love with his own brother. Yet, she understood why Hikaru's own brother was in love with him. After all, she once was in love with Hikaru but that love now turns into friendship -love and then like family love. She loved Hikaru like a brother now. But then again, she wondered why she even falls in love with him in the first place.

When Akari first had her suspicious of Shouhen's feeling for Hikaru, she panic and didn't know what to think. If his feeling for Hikaru is what causes this whole situation, Akari was pretty sure that she would understand why Hikaru avoids Shouhen-san for the past two weeks and a half.

What she doesn't want to know was how could Hikaru changed so much.

She knows that Hikaru didn't think of Shouhen-nii the way he thinks of Hikaru, as Hikaru is far too dense, but she always notes that Hikaru loved him like so.

Even as a brotherly loved.

But his feeling never reached that height before he felt betrayed by whom he trust the most. And now, that everything that Hikaru ever believe in, has turned their back to him now. She could imagine what went though Hikaru's mind when he found out the secrets that Shouhen-san keep from him.

He must have been hurting very badly, by his own brother nonetheless.

All that's left was the hollow and hell chilling Hikaru that Akari seems last week.

And so, she hopes that he will someday find happiness. Because she knows that he deserve it. She wants her goofy and energetic childhood friend back. Not the sinister Hikaru that she saw last time!

What Akari didn't know was that her wishes will be granted in the worst way possible for her to think.

Three weeks later, everything went down-hell for those that aren't lucky enough and got caught in Hikaru's plan; Shouhen, the girl Nasume and her boyfriend Koji, the people who were at the party that got Shouhen drunk, the teachers and then, and lastly, the people that Nasume hired to help her story coverage.

All of them make a total of thirty-eight people total who found themselves in a living hell. Actually, hell might be a better place.

Why?

Their biggest and deepest secrets were out in the daylight for everyone to see. That wasn't all, either.

First was Nasume Saoto, the mastermind behind everything.

Her secrets and deepest sins were revealed when Hikaru turned into her life. Her name, age, address, personal history, you named it. Hikaru had made sure that she'll never once again see the living lights. Hikaru did a lot of background check to make sure that nothing was amiss. He even asked Asami-san for a favor, which the old man was more than willing to do to earned a favor from Hikaru.

He knows for sure that she won't commit suicide, after all, she's the type that would never have the thought of killing herself, only others. He made it that she wishes she was dead, though.

At the end, Hikaru found out that Nasume was working as a prostitute. She would sell her body for information on clients that come to her. And then sell them again. If it was just simple information that she was selling than Hikaru won't have to dig it up. But what she was selling was information that made even Asami-san mad, once he found out that she was selling it to his enemies. Like I said, Hikaru made sure to never let the woman see the living daylight again.

Second was her boyfriend. After digging around for a couple of hours on the net and hacking into a couple of the yakuza's files from the police department, he found more info then he can use.

Let's just said that he will never be able to see the living day light ever again. After all, dead man doesn't talk. Ahh, don't make a mistake in thinking that Hikaru killed him or something. He never did. He didn't have a chance to. He was murdered by a psychopath that like Nasume and, after stalking her, found out about Koji. He was killed by dissecting his whole body parts separately. Each part of his body was found later all over Tokyo. Though, how did that psychopath found Koji was another thing altogether.

And then, there're the people from the party. They didn't have a lot to do with it because they didn't really know what they were doing. The woman was so fucking damn manipulating that most of her co-workers and friends thought that she was as innocent as a sheep.

They were tricked by Nasume and her dedicated mask. And so, all their punishments were creepy mails and creepy nightmares for weeks. What they dream about was better left unsaid.

As for the teacher that was involved and know about the plan, they wished they never meet Nasume at all.

Nightmares plus threats plus proofs and other inhuman things that they did when meeting with Nasume to other people were more than they can take.

It wasn't even two weeks later that news of teachers who rape, killed, blackmail, torture, and among other things come out. The new reached all over the world. At the end, seven teachers all together were caught red-hand. Of course, who provided the locations of their meeting and crime weren't said but I think we know who it was without saying it. Good things to that Hikaru was fast enough to act against those assholes. He had unknowingly saved five children from those teachers. They were kidnapped right before Hikaru acted so nothing much happens to them, excepts the traumatic experiences of not trusting their teachers ever again.

Lastly, was the people whom Nasume and Koji hired. They were so scared that they confessed themselves. Of course, after weeks worth of no sleep and nightmares and who-know-what-else, they were reaching their sanity limit. They turned themselves into the police without none the wiser.

It was then that Shouhen noticed the change in his beloved little brother. By then, it was too late. When the truth come out about Nasume being pregnant, Shouhen was already past the point of forgiveness. Still, he can't help but hope and wish at the same time.

They were at their grandfather's house, sitting in the backyard looking over the summer's roses and little fish pound that Hikaru and Shouhen make when they were a bit younger when Shouhen broke the silent and asked,

"Hikaru, talk to me please" he pleaded after the silent treatment from Hikaru become unbearable. Again.

Hikaru pretends to not heard him and keep smiling a the pound. That hurt Shouhen even more as he silently started to cries. After a while, Hikaru was peeking at him and noticed the tears, he sighed out loud. Causing heads turn to him.

Hikaru looks right into Shouhen's eyes and Shouhen noticed the little coldness and child play in them yet still the lovely Hikaru that Shouhen falls for. Hope bloom in his chest, does that mean that Hikaru forgives him for being incompetent and falling for the tricks that Nasume made?

"Do you know your mistakes now Shouhen?" asked Hikaru a little too cold. There was nothing else he can say by the looks in Hikaru's eyes so he nodded.

"H-Hikaru, don't call me that...call me nii-chan like you used to... is lonely when you're acting like that" he sniffed and cried a little more childlike. Hikaru rolls his eyes internally at the looks in his brother's eyes. Yet, outside, he totally ignored it.

"Sure, however, there are three conditions," said Hikaru with a glint in his eyes, causing shivered to shuddered into Shouhen's body at the look of utter evilness.

"Anything!" He shouted desperately. Too desperately that his genius brain refused to work. Even if his whole body was already feeling the chills. Heihachi takes one look at Shou and shook his head in disappointment. Really, Shouhen just going to let Hikaru manipulate him like that again? What does he expect...

"What happened to the plans that I draw out before you left last time?" asked Hikaru.

Feeling confused as to why Hikaru was asking about something like that, he answered truthfully, "I have it but I didn't start yet because of all the chaos. why?" he asked.

"There are some changes that I'm planning on making. And three conditions" Hikaru said without looking at Shouhen as he eyes the small fish pond. It is now September and will soon be his birthday. So, Hikaru was thinking of modifying the ponds and his room a bit before the winter comes.

And so, began another plan of the insanity Hikaru. At the end of their discussion on the changes of plans, Shouhen and Heihachi was pale.

Too pale for their own good. They both know that Hikaru wasn't the type that thinks before acting but seriously? At the rate that they're going, someone might really die. From overwork or from the craziness of Hikaru's plans.

"Hikaru~ All these plans, do I really have to do all this?" Whine Shouhen as he takes one look at he requirement condition that Hikaru added. The only thing that makes Shouhen feel better was that he could text and video chat with Hikaru once a week, under the clause of him leaving home again. This time, Hikaru even made it so that Shouhen could move back to Japanese in a ten years if he succeeds.

"What do you think?" Hikaru grinned, happily and far too bright for someone who just made a complete plan and goal for his brother.

"But, Hikaru..." Tears drop down from Shouhen's eyes. The plans were set in a timely and organizing details. Hikaru made sure that it was specific enough, it had measurable growths, it could be meaningful and motivation enough, it was attainable for Shouhen, it was realistic enough yet totally idealistic, and it was very timely based accomplishment.

Ever heard of SMART Goal Setting?

"No buts. Those are already the least that I want you to accomplish within ten years. I even contact one of my acquaintance that would totally love to work with your company for those projects. Don't forget, your company isn't limited to one subjects only." Hikaru shoots down Shouhen's hope as he closed his eyes.

"Arg! Goddamnit! Fine! I will finish this! Just watch!" Shouhen feels like he was going insane as he put the compile of files away along with the contact card that Hikaru handed him.

Who the hell is Asami Ryuichi? The CEO of Center Tokyo Hospital? The CEO of Sun Technology? Damn it, how the hell did Hikaru know someone like this? Not to mention, Asami is the CEO of SION corporation?!

Hikaru watches as Shouhen started to do his research on Asami. Good, he knew his priority now. Researching about Asami-san will only go so far but it's enough for Shouhen.

And so, began the legend of the soon to be the biggest Company in Japan. The Taiyo Kaisha. But that's another story for another time. Then once again, Shouhen left for New York for Hikaru's plans. For another five years. New York wasn't the place for his company but that was where the old location is. The new company was moving to Seoul, Korean. In fact, the location was right next to Seoul National University, as their partners.

It was three weeks later when, after their makeup, Hikaru was feeling bored, again.

He wanted to do something that doesn't have to do internet or computer since he had just finished three new programs and apps for iPhone and iPad, and he's actually very tired of them for a while now.

And, so with nothing to do, he left his grandfather's house, after telling him where he was going, and went straight into his favorite ramen shop.

"Welcome, Hikaru-chan! The same thing today?" Asked the shop owner, Yamada Eiji.

"Yamada-san, please give me the daily special today. I want something different just for today." Hikaru grinned widely at the older man. Yamada Eiji was a kind old man that is very good at making Chinese Ramen but his Thai Ramen was also to die for.

"Okay! How spicy do you want it?" He asked as he prepares the ingredient.

"Just normal is okay!" Hikaru answered. The spice level here is none, mild, middle, high and hot. The daily special ramen are ramen that aren't local. For Monday through Wednesday, it was Thai Style Ramen in different kind of meats. For today, it was sweetened duck meats with chicken soup. The meats are to die for~! Which was why this ramen shop is Hikaru's favorite shop since he was able to eat ramen. Which, considering his health tissue back then was very young.

"Got it! You want any drink?" Yamada asked with a grin on his face.

"Nope! I don't think I have enough change for the drinks too!" Hikaru yelled back as he sits in his regular seats.

"Okay! Wait a bit!" The old man said as he went to work. Five minutes later, a large duck meat bowl of ramen was placed in front of Hikaru.

Hikaru could already feel his own saliva coming out of his mouth at the perfectly cooked ramen in front him.

He didn't waste any more time as he digs in.

After devouring three people's worth of ramen, he left after paying the bill. The owner there seriously love Hikaru for it since he always goes there when he want some ramen, and that's like a lot of times a week. And so, Hikaru's wallet was empty by ramen.

But Hikaru forgot something when he was so busy with his programs and apps, he totally forgot a test that was coming tomorrow. He's worst subject in school. If Hikaru wanted to, he could have passed the test with flying colors but since he doesn't have a lot of Japanese History recognized, he totally forgot about it.

When he come back, he was so full and sleepy. He had stayed up writing the apps and fixing a bunch of codes for more than thirty hours without sleep. So, after his ramen feast, Hikaru was so sleepy that he totally didn't hear his grandpa's reminder about his homework and the coming quizzes.

Heihachi takes one look at the angel sleeping softly in his bed and sigh out loud.

"Don't blame me if you failed your history test again, Hikaru. I did try to remind you," Heihachi said softly as he put the blanket over Hikaru.

And so come Monday, the day of the test.

School Morning Class, Japanese History

"Okay class, sit down please!" yelled Kumino sensei(1) as he used his hand to smack the board.

Groans and giggles were heard around the class as students find their seats. After everyone was sit, the class president called, "Stand up, and bow" with a chorus of "Ohayou gozaimasu(2)" from everyone before the teacher said to sit down.

"Okay, today its test-day of this month and so, here, pass them down the rows," said the teacher as she gives a stack of paper to each person in the front row.

There were five rows total with thirty students in each class, and so by the time that the paper came to Hikaru, he was blinking his eyes in confusing. He didn't remember that there will be a test so he didn't even bother to reviews his notes at least. And so, the questions are making Hikaru's brain melt.

From what years is the Nara period? Heian? Kamakura? What year did Fujiwara Michinaga become regent? What clan was under Kiyomori? What war was it after? what year was the Buddhist Jodo Sect introduced? What year is the Zen Sect was introduced? What supremacy were the results from the struggle of Kamakura and Kyoto? and so the questions when on and on, from what to when to where to how and to why. Finally, to the last question, What is the connection between that three period and now, the presents, that are similar and differences?(3)

By the end of the test period, Hikaru's brain literally was a smooth. But that wasn't the end of it.

After lunch, there were still three other classes that he needs to take the tests for; Algebra-Geometry, Physical Science, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Writing Critical Analysis Writing, and his last class, which was Cooking Analyze, which involved making a simple dish for your teachers. And so, at the end of the day, everyone was exhaust to the point of madness.

His other classes were okay, he made sure to get at least twenty to thirty answers wrong out of one hundred questions so the most he can get was a 'C' plus. Not too bad for his cover. But the History test was... Arg... Let's hope that Hikaru can at least get thirty percents right, otherwise, his allowance... Will be in danger from being cut off by his mother and father.

When Hikaru got to his grandfather's house, he went straight to bed without eating or bathing. Heihachi saw the tired Hikaru and smile fondly at him as he zombie-like went to his room.

The next morning, Hikaru woke up with a grumpy stomach and feeling refreshed from his twelve hours of sleep. It was only seven o'clock when Hikaru woke up and his grandfather was still making breakfast so he quickly washes his face and did his morning routine before going to the kitchen just on time for breakfast to be ready.

Heihachi was surprised when Hikaru walks to the kitchen without himself waking Hikaru up. But he smiles at Hikaru nevertheless.

"Morning, Ojiichan(4)" said Hikaru as he seat on his side of the dining table.

"Morning, Hikaru. You're up early today for once" teased Heihachi. Hikaru rolled his eyes before answering, "Who can sleep for more the twelve hours a day, I wanna know," he answered sarcastically, making his grandfather smiled at his brightness in the morning.

After everything that happened before, Heihachi was quite happy now that his favorite grandson wasn't so different, like that hell-chilling-expression on his face that day that he came home and lock himself in his room or three days straight.

Just thinking about it make Heihachi frown and shuddered from the sheer fear of his Hikaru turning into something that his own brother once was. Heihachi remembers clearly how his brother lost his mind to insanity. It might have something to do with a ghost but seriously, Heihachi doubts it. Maybe he should check the antic for his brother's profile photo, so he can clean it again.

As they ate their breakfast, Heihachi remembers something.

"Hikaru, from now on, I won't be giving you money daily like before. Mitsuko was nagging me about me spoiling you too much so from now on, your allowance will be a base of your grade and test score" said Heihachi as he takes a sipped of his tea. By then, Hikaru's mouth was wide opened.

"What?! That old-woman!" blurted out Hikaru, making his grandfather smile. Hikaru was always like that when he's mad at his parents. Hikaru's father was always on a business trip all over the world so his mother was both his father and mother at the same time due to the limited of times that his father came home.

And when he was home, his parents will be so love-sick with each other that it's annoying to look at, and so, Shouhen and Hikaru were rather been by themselves then staying in the same room as them.

Sometimes he wished that they would make a new child to nagged on instead of putting their love and hope on Shouhen and Hikaru too much. Now that he think about it, Hikaru remembered his father once told him that he used to have a sister but she died before was born, was that why Shouhen was trying to be discreet about his knowledge when there were little?

Hikaru sighed out loud before dropping his head in understanding. When he left for school that morning, Heihachi went to the arctic to look for the portrait of his brother, before he went insane due to seeing a ghost and found it among a pile of dust.

"Oh my, I forgot to clean the attic this year again. Oh well, I'll have Hikaru clean it up when he come home," said Heihachi as he took the portrait with him and left everything else the way they were.

At school, Hikaru was having his worst nightmare; eighteen percents on the History Test, fifty percents on Math and thirty-seven percent on science. The rest was at seventy to eighty percents so he's safe for now on those subjects. Ah! That's right, his mother usually only check his History and Math quizzes! Oh shit. He's so screw. From what his grandfather told him this morning, he can kiss his allowance goodbye this week. And to think that he wanted to buy a new laptop this weekend too! Oh, crap. Double crap.

"Hikaru..." Akari said looking unbelievable. Hikaru sighs out loud before dropping his test paper into his bag as he stands up and left the room, with Akari following behind looking sympathy.

Hikaru's stomach grumble as they passed by ramen shop and he sighs out loud again before walking, more like running, away from the shop. Akari ran to catch up to him. When they went their separate way, Akari lives a little nearer to the school then Hikaru so he takes the train home. The looks Akari sent him before leaving only make Hikaru more irritated.

Upon reaching home, his grandfather's house, Hikaru was greeted with a grinning Heihachi. Hikaru froze. He knows that expression, its with that expression that Hikaru was used to before finding himself cleaning the attic every year. But no way in hell was he doing it this year too! He is far too hungry to clean it this year!

"NO WAY!" Hikaru yelled before Heihachi can say anything. Heihachi has already predicted that Hikaru would be acting this way so he pulled out his last card.

"If you clean it then I will buy you anything you want this weekend when my paid-check come in," He said grinning as Hikaru once again froze.

Damn it! Sighing, Hikaru agrees. Because he really wants a new laptop! Not to mention, this new laptop just happen to have a new component that Hikaru wanted to analyze! Goddammit!

Too bad, later on, he wished he never agrees to it.
