Chapter back in the Azuchi–Momoyama period
The Little girl could hear her father's roar as her mother told him what had happened. The father came charging in, splashing water on the girl, and whipping her with a bamboo stick. She covered her head to protect herself as she continued to scream in pain as the stick beat her on the back.
"YOU HORRIBLE WICKED DEVIL CHILD! I SHALL BEAT THE DEMON OUT OF YOU!" Her father howled but the mother stopped and pleaded with him, but he just pushed her aside and continued to beat the child.
The mother noticed that with each whip, the room darkened and the girl's shadow was spiraling. She begged him again and she even covered over the girl, trying to protect her from his blows.
"That is enough!" The mother screams and the father stopped in mid air. The mother was pregnant and he didn't want to injury her. He breathe deeply as the wife hugged the little girl.
"She has already been punished. This is cruelty." The mother hugs her, kissing the little girl's forehead. Tears started to steam down her cheeks as she hugged her knees to her chest.
"No...we must drive the demon out of her! The whole town is a buzz with this...do you wish to be driven out of another town because of her. You should not be traveling in your condition not with...my son."
The mother didn't say anything.
"I have made arrangement with a Shinto priest, he shall expel this demon out of the child. I should have known better than to marry the Clan of the Hikari. Nothing but trouble, you lot. You gave me this worthless, possessed child." The father stormed out and the mother continues rubbing the little girl's head.
"It's going to be ok...it is. I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry." The mother hugged her closer, "Don't lose control, you a proud Hikari Clansmen."
The girl softly cried into her mother's arms. She didn't understand what was going on.
Beast's POV
This place had changed so greatly, instead of just stairs and pure darkness, there was actually buildings...places...maybe settings is a better word. Why? I hid behind a white wall, just as I heard a Teke Teke sound and smelled something dead...I know to well this monster...I sighed...I must be calm...I must be strong
"No, must stay strong." That is when I accidentally dropped the bag. The monster, which was a female looking creature with putrid flesh, ragged shirt, orange eyes and long white hair. It looked over here, I could feel those eyes. I summoned my guns, hoping not to be discovered. I could hear it...walking over here...making that stupid sound, the closer it got...
Buttercup's POV
I was in her room, which she just finished creating after I told her about my room. She spun around and laid on the floor, she was acting strange again.
I was sighed as she balanced a soccer ball on her foot, when all of a sudden, she froze. She stood like that for a while. Her teddy bear stood in front of her and then she started to giggle.
"Oh Mina...Mina, I've missed you." She just picked up the doll and hugged, then she turned to me and blinked several times, "Cupie oh Cupie...I'm so glad you're alright too." The rooms suddenly changed, what was a dark, gloomy room was a room with a sort of brighter kind of darkness.
She started to twirl and laugh harder. She looked at the soccer ball curiously...
"Oh a Sock 'em ball, oh what fun...let's play Cupie." She sounded happier. It happened again, every once in a while, she got like this. I couldn't understand it, but it was better this way...there was less tension. I couldn't get her to let me go though...she said she couldn't. She balanced the ball on her head.
Later on, We were watching one of her favorite movies Alice in Wonderland. She loved this movie more than anything else.
"I love the Chester Cat."
"Cheshire?" I sighed, correcting her.
"Yes...I love how he can disappear...makes me wish I could." She mumbled to herself.
"Wha?" I looked at her, she rested her knees to her stomach.
"Madness isn't a state of the mind...it's a place...a place that I always seem to go."She was rocking back and forth, but then she giggled again.
"Why can't you let me go?" I asked all of a sudden. I don't know what came over me, but it's been like a heavy burden, "I miss my friends, my family, soccer, even school...even...him. Please just let me go." I begged. I knew it was safe to plead.
"I can't...it's not up to me." She answered seriously.
"But...you have power over this place...those three don't even go near you...please I want to go home." I cried out.
"She won't let you...she hardly lets any of her 'toys' escape."
She? Who's she?
She continued, "Plus...I'm not strong enough...I'm not brave enough." She then just smile, "Enough with the worry flurries, let's-" she looked towards the large lavender door.
I felt a strange pulse going through my body, fangs shot right out of my mouth.
"The boss is coming, time to hide."She pulled me up and pushed me into her closet and closed it shut. She opens the door and this tall black figure entered. I could smell it...the energy...I could see the different colors...I was trying to keep calm, but ...but how could I? This was the boss. Its body was pitch black...but I think it was wearing a cloak, it dragged on the floor.
"This is new?" It asked, even its voice didn't give it away, it had both female and a male voice talking at the same time.
"Oh yes, you like...ya know...how do you like my new settings...or maybe attractions might be a better word...oh do you want tea? I like tea." She tried to offer but the figure just shook its head.
"Oh...its you...will then...make yourself useful. Echidna could use some support...in fact...," It pulled out a crystal ball, "These people could use a bad nightmare. Darkened their hearts, Echidna could use that darkness to create more monsters."
"Ok." She grabs the ball and smiled widely.
"Ah...Mastey, I was wondering...it's been like a long time...and Cupie...maybe we can let her fly like a jailbird out of the cage."She giggled and gave this big puppy dog look. That was when I moved...but I accidentally squeaked when one of those ghostly monsters appeared right in front of the closet. I hate ghosts. It looked over my way, I covered my mouth...I could sense this things' energy...I never felt so sick...and hungry...It started to walk over here...my heart was pounding as it reached from the handle. I closed, pushing myself as far back as possible. It opens the door.
"Look at what we have here?"
My heart stopped.
