"I DON'T OWN SHUGO CHARA"

Amu walked into her home and saw her mother unpacking boxes. When her mother heard the front door open up, she turned to Amu.

"Welcome home, sweetie. How was your first day?" her mother asked as she put up a photo.

"It went well. I made some new friends." Amu said as she went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. "Though they seemed to be surprised at my last name though"

Her mother's hand froze from hanging another picture for a second. She tensed up but as soon as Amu saw her mother mother's uncomfortable state, her mother untensed and hung up the picture. "I wonder why. What are their names?"

"Nagihiko Fuhisaki, Rima Mashiro and Kukai Soma." Amu answered.

"Fuhisaki, Mashiro and Soma. Hmmm. I've heard those names before. Oh! That's right! I was friends with people with those last names" Midori said. 'Their parents are the ones who helped me escape this place' Midori thought. "They are some of the higher ups."

"Higher ups?" Amu was really confused.

"Oh my. I forgot to tell you this village is run by kings and queens." Midori said.

"How were you friends with higher ups?" Amu asked.

Midori silently cursed herself for letting too much information come out of her mouth in front of her eldest daughter. She was thinking of a lie when the doorbell rang. She let out a breath she didn't know she turned to her daughter. "Will you please get the door, Amu?"

"Sure mom." Amu walked to the door. When she opened it there was the boy she bumped into at school.

The boy was shocked when he saw her but he quickly regained his posture. "Hello. Is your mother here?"

"What do you need with her?" Amu asked.

"Amu, who was at the door?" Midori asked as she walked to the door. When she saw the blonde boy she froze.

"Hello Princess Midori." the boy said as he bowed.

"Princess?" the confusion was clear on Amu's face.

"Prince Tadase, what a surprise. What brings you here?" Midori seemed to have a presence around her that made her seem more powerful.

The boy, Tadase as Amu's mother called him, rose from his bow. "The king has invited you and your family to dinner." The way he said your family made it seem as if the words were poison.

Her mother stared the boy back in his eyes and didn't show any emotions on her face. "Tell the king that I must decline. I chose not to be part of that life again. I am very happy with my life now."

The boy let a flash of anger show on his face before he made it disappear. "The king thought you may have said that. Once again the king shows his smartness by thinking one step ahead of you again. He said if you were to refuse than he will just have to take matters into his own hands. I am pretty sure you know what he means."

'That damn bastard for threatening my family.' Though Midori was mad she did not let it show on her face. "Well if he puts it that way then I must come. What time is the dinner?"

Tadase let a smirk show on his face and replied. "It is a seven. I assume you can make yourself look presentable without the help of a maid or shall I have a maid come help you and your family"

"No. We shall be able to handle ourselves perfectly without the assistance. Please send my thanks to the king." Midori said and closed the door in Tadase's face. She let out a breath then looked at her daughter who looked confused beyond belief. Midori smiled at her daughter than gave a forced laugh. "I believe you want an explanation."

Amu quickly regained her posture and gave her mother and angry look. "You bet I do." Amu yelled.

Amu's mother sighed then walked to the sofa. She sat down than patted the space next to her signaling her daughter to sit beside her. When she did Midori looked at her daughter. "Do you remember the story your father and I use to tell you and Ami before you went to sleep?"

"The one about the princess and the prince of the two different kingdoms that were enemies?" Amu asked.

Her mother smiled when she finished her sentence. "Yes that one. Well sweetie, that story didn't hit too far from home."

"What do you mean?" Amu asked clearly more confused than when she sat down.

"It was the story of your father and I." Midori said.

"What!?"

Midori smiled at Amu's shock. "Yes. I was the princess of the Guardians and your father the prince of Easter." Amu gave her mother a look to continue. "My father was the king until I ran away. The boy you say at the door, Tadase, his father is now the king. That was why those children at your school acted so weird when you told them your name."

"Why does the king want to have a dinner with us now?" Amu asked.

Midori face suddenly showed how worried she was. "That I don't know. We shall find out tonight."

"What have I said about sneaking out" a man yelled at Ikuto.

Ikuto rolled his eyes at his step-dad. He really didn't like the man. The only reason he married Ikuto's mom was to be the king of Easter when Ikuto's dad didn't want to be it. Ikuto's mind went back to the pink haired girl he saved in the forest. 'I wonder when I can see her again.'

"Ikuto are you even listening to me. I was telling you about how the Guardians are getting their heir married." Kazuomi said.

'I feel sorry for the poor girl who has to marry that girly boy Tadase.' Ikuto thought to himself as he blocked out his step-father's voice again until he caught something his father said that made his blood run cold.

"We might have to find you a wife too than so the Guardians won't one up us." Kazuomi said.

"Wait a minute. If I am going to marry someone I want to choose her myself and the only way I would choose her was if I loved her." Ikuto agrued.

Ikuto's step-father gave him a look of disgust. "Nobody marries for love anymore, Ikuto."

Ikuto was very upset with his step-father's choice of words. "My father married my mother because he loved her."

Kazuomi smirked. "Then why did he leave her."

I hoped everyone like it. Please R&R.
