Ok, wow you've made it to ch 3! Please let me know how I'm doing. (Probably a pretty obvious secret but this is my first real try at writing fan-fiction so I am in desperate need of guidance)

Wonka lead his guests to a huge candy garden with a fantastic chocolate waterfall and invited everyone to do and eat as they pleased. Augustus didn't know what to do. He was overwhelmed with awe by the most amazing place he had ever seen but he was also reluctant to go off and explore. He wanted to make friends with his new acquaintances (he always wanted to make friends) but he was worried they would turn out to be like everyone else his age that he'd ever interacted with the moment that he dared to leave his mother and Wonka. He was pretty sure Charlie would accept his company, but he didn't want to risk the safety of the little boy.

Wonka seemed to be looking right at him though, directing him to lead the others into the garden. His mother nudged him then, and so, he was the first to break off from the group. He made sure to go deep into the garden, behind some candy trees to avoid unwanted attention while he gathered up all the candy he could carry.

Alone he lost his inhibitions for a moment and just enjoyed the thrill of being inside the world renowned Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. And then, he got hit with a candy apple.

Cream from the grass he'd been eating covering his face, he turned to see that the little boy had been the culprit.

"Hey!" he yelled, his German accent threatening to come out, "What is your problem? Do you have a problem with me little boy?"

Charlie had been smiling but then he looked frightened.

"No Augustus," Charlie trembled, "I just wanted to play. I thought if I hit you with the apple, then you could chase me and try to hit me with some chocolate grass or something. I didn't want to hurt you."

Augustus softened. He didn't want Charlie to cry and he was near tears himself after finding out someone had chosen him to play with, when that person could have picked any of the other people there.

"Okay little boy," he responded before throwing all the candy he was holding at the small child (being careful not to hurt Charlie of course).

Their game ensued and the two ran all over the garden throwing candy and laughing. Augustus was having fun with the little boy and he didn't care if the others were watching him. But then, in playful pursuit of Charlie (who was much faster that Augustus), Augustus tripped and fell into the chocolate river.
