Okay. I'm reposting this chapter because I just realized that there are no spaces between sentances and there are no paragraphs. Sorry about that.
Chapter 2
The song, "Last Friday Night" by Katie Perry was on. In my honest opinion, it's a stupid song. Thankfully, the song was nearing the end and we didn't have to go through too much torture. Unfortunately, a slow dance came on, and we went to go sit on the bleachers. Josh came up to me and asked me to dance.
"I don't dance," was all I said. What else could I say to get me out of this.
He replied, "I can teach you."
I had to refuse again, "Josh, its really sweet of you to ask, but I don't want to dance." Josh had some muscle on him, but not much. Half the girls in the school would've jumped at the chance to dance with him. He grabbed my hand and tried to pull me to the floor. Xavier grabbed my hand and pulled it back, while glaring at Josh. I hope he got the message.
"Well, maybe some other time?" he asked hopefully.
I sighed, "Look, Josh, I really don't dance. I don't think so." He walked away.
Xavier looked at me and asked, "You can't dance?"
I smirked, "I'm the best dancer I've ever met. I see something and I can copy it, precisely. It's really freaky. When I was five I had some sort of fixation with dance and theater. I've got an identical memory too. Putting theory into practice." I quoted my brother. He always said that it was my greatest strength.
"I can't dance, at all." Alti stated.
Xavier shrugged, "I'm okay. Not really good, like some Broadway big-shot, but I'm okay."
Alti asked, "Why don't you dance?"
I avoided the question, "Is anyone else really hot? Its really hot in here." I got up and walked over to the punch table. I noticed Alti followed me. She grabbed some punch, but I didn't. I go hyperactive crazy when I have artificial food coloring. It reacts with my ADHD. Alti took one sip.
She screamed. Most of the kids started running for the exits. The DJ had turned into some sort of wines creature. I saw Josh running towards it. I noticed he had a bronze sword in his hand. Most of the kids were already out of the gym. Only Alti, Xavier, Josh, and I remained. The doors slammed shut and locked us in. Josh charged the thing, but he was thrown back into the bleachers. I rushed towards him to see if he was alright, but he got up as if it were something he did every day. He needed a distraction, or maybe he was a distraction. A bronze point came out from behind the monster and impaled it. The thing exploded into dust, revealing Molly Tetra. She wasn't wearing her usual idiotic smile, she had a child look of hatred on her face. It made her seem scary, almost war-like.
She calmly said, "Jordan Chalice, you are the biggest idiot I've ever met." She then walked up to me and asked, "What did you see?"
I rolled my eyes, "I just saw some freaky winged creature attack you guys!"
"What did your friends see?"
Alti said, "Same thing. What was that thing?"
Molly called back, "Jordan, we have some demigods!"
He ran up screaming, "I knew it! I knew it!"
"What do you mean demigods? Greek myth like Heracles demigods or like Norse legends or what?" Xavier asked.
Josh replied, "k. First thing you need to know, my name is Jordan Chalice. Molly here is actually called Lisa." Just then, Molly's form rippled. She changed into a sixteen year old girl.
She replied, "Lisa Davis. Sorry I was a real bully, but I had to keep my cover. Last time I'm ever working with a thirteen year old. At least I want stick with Joey."
"Joey can't even lift a sword. It was either me, or Connor. Who would you rather choose? The somewhat normal person, or Connor." He seemed really peppy. This was so different from the people I had come to know.
"Well, let's go. He had plenty of time to alert other monsters of our presence. I hate changing form and being mortal. We have clothes at camp. We only have five minutes. I need to discuss this with Sal. Everyone, grab hands." We all linked hands. I grabbed Alti and Xavier's hands. A breeze rushed past me, and I randomly smelled strawberries. We were suddenly on a hillside.
"Who the Hades are these guys?" A guy with tan skin and dark hair asked.
"I was pretty much just kidnapped. Who the heck are you?" Alti asked.
He shook her hand, "Salmons Greenwood. I go by Sal. Son of Neptune."
"I don't believe any of this. What exactly is going on? How the heck can you change your form? Where are we?" I asked.
"Greek gods are real. You're at Camp Half-Blood. I used to be immortal, so I picked up a few tricks." She responded.
"Wait, so you acting like a a thirteen year old slut was an act? Thank God, or gods, or whatever." I commented.
The boy asked, "Excuse me?" She blushed.
"There was a monster, I stole her cover. She was an empousa. Don't judge me." She explained, rather defensively. He looked at her skeptically. "What? It's not like you didn't have to go undercover. You went undercover as a football player, and you still can't tell me what a spiral is!"
He laughed, "I can throw one apparently."
Alti asked, "Are you guys dating?" They both turned red.
"No, we're just best friends." She responded. A girl poked her head out from behind them.
She said, "Its starting to get annoying. Seriously, one of my best friends and my brother are best friends and have been for hundreds of years, even though he got kidnapped and pulled through time in a daze. I'm Andromeda Jackson by the way. You are probably gonna help us with our monster predicament. I love that word, predicament."
Molly, Lisa, whatever her name was, asked, "What did you eat?"
"Leo gave Shannon, Nico, and I Mountain Dew. Why is it Leo gives people MD whenever new campers come. I mean seriously. Piper was hopped up on it when I came to camp. When Sal came to camp-" She was cut off by a flash of light.
A familiar voice said, "Lisa, Connor's hurt." I turned, and saw someone I thought I'd never see again. My brother.
"Get him to the infirmary. I'll be there in a sec. Can you show the new guys around?" She responded. A boy took the other guy down a hill.
We both disagreed at the same time. I said, "No," while he said, "Yes."
"That wasn't an option, Sarah. How old are you guys exactly?" She responded.
My brother said, "She's turning 14 in 3 days."
"I can answer for myself, Hunter," I replied.
Xavier asked, "How do you guys know each other?"
"We're acquaintances, from my past." I replied.
Hunter commented, "Oh, yeah, just friends. Its not like we're related or anything. Its not like you ran away from a brother who cared about you more than anything else in the world. Nope, just acquaintances."
"How long did they search? How long did it take them to realize I was missing? Who visited me in the hospital?" I asked.
"I did. They made me go back to school. I stayed with you from right after school, until 6:00 in the morning. I've been searching since you left. You do realize that its mandatory for kids to attend school, right? The dumb thing is, I think they still haven't realized that your missing."
Molly/Lisa interrupted, "I don't have time for this. As cute as this family reunion is, the real Molly is probably looking for you. Andy, show Xavier and Alti around. Hunter and Sarah, catch up, say hi to Molly, whatever. Bye. Sal, come with me. I might need some help." She and the boy, took off down the hill, towards a building.
I said, "Just leave me alone."
"I can't. Come on. Let's just pretend we don't know each other then." He pulled me down the hill. He brought me to a ton of cabins. "These are the cabins. For all the Greek gods. I still have to be claimed. Claiming is when you find out your godly parent. Quick question. Why are you waiting a dress?" I blushed. He knew I hated dresses.
"Where do we stay?" I asked.
"Hermes cabin. It's because-"
"He's the good of travelers. Accepting of everyone, so it makes sense he would take in the unclaimed campers." I finished.
"Putting theory into practice. Have you been practicing that?"
"Yeah, I remember what you said. How are they?"
He laughed, "Drunk as ever."
"Did you leave them?"
He hesitated, "Yeah. Once you left, no real reason for me to stay. I found a girl named Molly. She brought me to camp. She's actually a daughter of Aphrodite. Not one of the idiots, and she's really involved in camp. I've been here for a week. Lisa already trusts me." A really pretty girl l came up to us. She was sprinting.
"Hunter!" She called. She smiled really widely. She hugged him so tightly I thought she was going to squeeze the life out of him. "Never do that again. I swear by the gods the next time you do that I'm gonna hurt you."
"Molly, meet Sarah, my sister."
I shook her hand. She said, "Well, this is quite a surprise. It's nice to finally meet someone from his family. He never talks about his family though. Says it's a hard subject."
"Well, we're different than most demigods." He said.
She countered, "I know you are a demigod. You didn't get incinerated when we gave you nectar. Come on, how are you different? I've heard it all. Abuse, neglect, I know it well." I was getting tired of this interrogation.
"No. I'm not saying." He turned to me. "We'd better grab you some clothes. Camp store has clothing. Come on." We walked to a building. It seemed like a cliche camp store. Knick-knacks, bobble-heads, all that sort of stuff. They had many pairs of jeans and many orange t-shirts that read, Camp Half-Blood. Hunter told the guy behind the counter, "New Camper." and took 3 pairs of jeans and 4 t-shirts. They were all my size, of course. He was my brother, he knew this stuff. We grabbed some toiletries and a sleeping bag. We then headed out.
Molly asked, "Has she been claimed?"
"What do you think? She just got here and I haven't said anything about claiming yet." He responded.
"What the-" I started.
"We say Hades here. Continue." He corrected even before I said anything.
I continued, "Fine. What the 'Hades' is claiming?"
"It tells you who your godly parent is. For example, I'm a daughter of Aphrodite. Hunter hasn't been claimed yet and neither have you. You're considered undetermined. The girl Lisa, the one you met. She's a daughter of Hermes, but is mainly god. She descended from Heracles. Well, you probably know him as Hercules." Molly replied. I knew who Heracles was.
Hunter said, "I think we should get you to sleep. Big day tomorrow. Its capture the flag. This'll be fun. We're on the blue team. With Aphrodite, Neptune and Poseidon, Mars and Ares, Hades and Pluto, Cupid, and last but not least, the Hecate cabin. I really hope you get partnered with me. That way, we can sneak up to the flag without a problem. You know my style, I know yours." I laughed.
"My style of sneaking has changed a little bit. I have now perfected the art of sneaking in boots. That's my favorite way to sneak now." He smiled.
Molly questioned, "What did you guys do that made you sneak around. Hunter is the best at sneaking here."
"Hunter? The best? We never got any free time at our house. We were always forced to work. I had to stay up until 1:00 in the morning to get my homework completed. If we finished our homework before midnight, we'd sneak out together and eat normal food." I remembered the last time that happened. We had gone to the town's pizzeria. We had joked about the school day, and then our parents stumbled in. After that, there were bars on our windows. It was in March of this year. Molly went to her cabin, and we walked to the Hermes cabin. Lisa or whatever, was in there, with her head on that boy Sal's shoulder. She seemed worried.
Hunter asked, "How is he?"
"With a little ambrosia and nectar, he'll be fine." She responded. "I just wish my friends would get here soon. I'm so concerned that the monsters will hurt them. If anything happened to them, I will personally kill every monster on the planet then burn Tartarus." She seemed way less sure of herself than she had let on.
I asked, "Who are they? Why do you care about them so much?"
She quickly responded, "Nobody, just a few friends. I just wish they would get here. Sal, go to your cabin." I could see she was trying to hide something. Andy came in with Alti and Xavier. "Go to sleep. Lights out." We all went to sleeping bags, and some went to bunk beds. Sal and Andy left the cabin. Hunter gave me a spot to sleep on, and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
