Chapter 3: Feelings
(Jade's POV)
"Wait human blood. What do mean you can smell it," Jade asked beginning to panic as Silver got away from the window and closed it and the shudders. He began walking around to each of the windows doing the same, as he did he spoke, "Yes I can. It means that most likely the other Psychos are close by and found someone to entertain themselves with. I truly pity the person that they got a hold of."
"What are we gonna do?" she asked getting up and following him around the cabin as he closed and locked windows.
"Tonight hopefully stay calm and keep in doors. Stay as quiet as possible," Silver explained.
"Couldn't they just smell us? I mean you smelled blood right," she asked.
"Right, but the smell is faint here. If they're the cause of it, then the smell is strong enough to block any other scents for now. In the morning I'll have to see if I can't find the body to know how close they are," Silver said as he locked the door shut. As if orders unspoken drove Jade over to the cabinets, she opened them and took out a couple of lanterns and lighting them on. Silver shut the lights off.
"Wait, the horses," Jade jumped up and made her way to the door only to have Silver grab her arm.
"Stay here. I'll go out," he said as he let go of her arm and walked towards the door, "Will those two return to you if you call them, when their not fenced in?" he asked her as he walked towards the door.
"Yeah sure. Why?" Jade asked.
"I'm going to open their pin and let them out. The other Psychos are less likely to go after them if their free running, instead of trapped somewhere," He said as he opened the door and walked out of the cabin. Jade stayed put. Thoughts ran through her mind.
(Silver's POV)
Silver approached the pin where the two horses already greeted him. He was sure the two could smell the blood as well as he did. It wasn't a hard latch to figure out. He opened the door and spoke softly to the two horses, "Come on you two. Out."
Warrior just pricked up his ears and seeming to understand walked forward with Angel at his side. He stopped in front of Silver. Silver petted the big stallion's neck.
"It's alright. I'll take care Jade and you take care of her," Silver said pointing out the mare beside the stallion. The horse took the hint and he led the mare beside him into the nearby forest. Silver headed back in, but not before surveying the area and took a good whiff of the air. The smell of blood was dimming down, but not by much.
He walked in to Jade sitting on the stairs to the loft. She was quit. He didn't think she even hear him walk up to her. Silver didn't need to ask to see that she was afraid.
"Are you ok?" he asked, seeming to shake her from her thought. She looked up to him. His thoughts where confirmed, he could see the fear in her eyes.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Little freaked out, maybe," She said standing up to meet his eyes. Silver could hear the fear in her voice, "I would normally ask this, but considering the situation would come up an at least stay with me. I don't care if you lay or sit on the bed."
"Sure," he spoke. Surprised that she would ask him, but he understood her fear. They walked up the stairs to her makeshift bedroom. She walked up to the bed and grabbed something from under a pillow.
"I'll be right back," she said grabbing a lantern as she walked through the door by the top of the stairs and shut the door. Silver just stood there. He walked around the bed and sat down. He silently hoped and prayed that the others wouldn't come this way. If they did, it wouldn't end well for neither him nor Jade. He heard the door open and Jade came back out with different cloths. She now wore a spaghetti strapped top and short shorts. She crawled into the bed next to him.
"Do you want the lantern on?" she asked him.
"No thanks. It's probably a good idea to leave them off anyways," Silver said deciding to lay back on the bed hoping not to be pushing any bonderies. Instead Jade settled right in under the covers beside him.
(Jade's POV)
Jade could feel Silver's body heat through the covers. She didn't even know that the Psycho Rangers ran hot. She had to admit it felt good having someone beside her in bed. She'd never had a boyfriend in her life, but she imagined this must have felt like to have one next to you in bed. Wait, did she really like Silver that much to consider such a thought. Well he had been kind to her. She then started to wonder if he thought the same.
She peeked over her shoulder to see him laying there beside her. His helmet made it hard to know if he was asleep or just laying there. Though she had to admit the bit of moonlight coming in really brought out the silver on him. Laying back the other way, she could help but wonder what was going to happen when his former team finds them. He said that her torture could be worse than his. The thought sent shivers up her spine.
"Are you ok?" Silver's voice came from behind her making her jump and turn around to face him.
"Just thinking that's all," she said as she looked at him.
"You looked back at me thought," he pointed out not sounding convinced, "I can go downstairs if your uncomfortable."
"No, your fine," Jade said with a small smile as she turned to face him, "It's just that I've never had someone in my bed before. Well that wasn't a dog or cat. It feels kind of weird I guess."
"Are you saying you've never had…well…. relations? To put it nicely," Silver said scooting down so now they were face to face. It felt awkward, but at the same time so right. Why was she feeling like this? She just met him.
"Well yeah. Have you?" Jade stopped about slapped herself at the question. Did she really just ask him that? Instead she hid her face in the blankets. She just heard him laugh a little.
"I have. When I was with my brothers," she heard him speak, "But don't worry I won't do anything unless you want me to."
"I'll pass," was all Jade could say to the Psychos comment. She felt him shift on the bed.
"Sorry I if I made you feel uncomfortable," Silver said. Jade uncovered her face to look at him. Despite the demonic look of his helmet, she felt relaxed to be this close to him. He defiantly wasn't like anyone she ever met.
"It's ok," she said. Silver just stared at her. The sudden sound of movement on the roof made them break their eye contact for a movement. It made Jade jump and scoot closer to Silver.
(Silver's POV)
Silver felt the girl scoot closer to him when they heard movement on the roof. He felt her silently shaking and with good reason. He knew that it was for a good cause if it was who he thought it was. He didn't want to leave her, but he did.
"Go into that room you were just in and lock the door. Don't come out till I call you," Silver ordered her. Jade did as she was told and quickly headed back into her bathroom and locked the door. He quietly walked over to a window next to the bed and quietly opened it a bit. He couldn't smell anything, but the human blood. The only problem with the strong smell is he could tell it Psycho Red or any of the others were close. For all he knew Psycho Red could have been above his head ready to tear it off. Taking a chance, he jumped up to the roof. He saw nothing, but a small whiff got his attention. It was one scent of three that he'd never forget. The shock of what he discovered made him whisper one of his brother's names, "Black."
Silver immediately stood up straight and survived the area, but there was no sign of Psycho Black or any of the others. He must of passed through and not noticed. The scent of blood was strong and if Black was there when the poor humans were killed then all he could probably smell right now was the blood or at least that was Silver's theory. He hoped he was right. If he was, then both him and Jade should be safe for now. All he could do for now is go back in and comfort Jade. Poor girl was probably scared out of her mind.
(Jade's POV)
Jade sat in the bathtub. Fear filled her to no end. She was hoping it was nothing and that Silver would come back and tell her everything was fine. Jade stopped herself at that thought and tried to remind herself that he was one of them, a Psycho Ranger. A brutal and psychotic killer. Everything he was not. Silver didn't even laugh or threaten her. He didn't force her to let him stay, she invited him. Invited him after he saved her. A knock on the bathroom door made her lose her train of thought and made her freeze.
"You can come out now," called Silver's voice. Jade slowly got up and out of the tube. Making her way to the door in the dark. She felt the doorknob in her hand and hesitated for a minute, before actually opening the door. Well her eyes still adjusting to the darkness, she walked forward. She felt Silver gently grab her hands and guide her back to the bed.
"What was it?" Jade asked, nervous to know the answer. She heard him sigh as they sat down.
"It was one of them, but he wasn't up there when I looked," Silver said.
"Which one? Dare I ask," Jade asked Silver. Their hands still connected.
"Psycho Black. I got his scent on the roof. My best guess he was just passing through," Silver explained, "I'm thinking the smell of blood is strong enough to hide ours. Only time will tell."
Jade felt panic sink in. The thought of the other Psycho Rangers coming here scared her. Her fears were suddenly replaced by shock and comfort when she felt Silver embrace her. Despite what he was his company seemed so comforting.
