Author's Note: It's been awhile, my fellow followers! I'm sorry for not updating in so long; Lots of major things have happened, and will happen, in my life (like continuing my education after graduating college, and getting married)! I've needed some inspiration on my stories I've been working on, and thinking about getting new stories started!

So, let's get this show on the road with..."Prisoned!"

Shadow wiped the blood off of his scythe and walked over the headless bodies of the soldiers. The rain was falling even harder now, and it was more difficult to see through the thick vegetation in front of him. He had lost Sonic, who had ran in front of him to check the main road, and Silver...

He wasn't sure what was happening; his adrenaline was rushing from the fight that had happened not even a minute ago. As big as the soldiers of the enemy were, they were not too bright. Putting his scythe away, Shadow slowly made his way to where he thought the road was. He was caught by surprise to have Sonic jump from a tree above him.

"Shadow," Sonic exclaimed, "what happened-?" He stopped himself as he saw the bodies of the enemy at his feet. "Whoa...sorry I asked..."

Shadow turned to him and answered, "Don't worry, Faker...everything's fine here. What's going on?"

Sonic shook his head, "I don't know. Didn't you hear that screaming?"

"What screaming?"

Sonic's eyes widened slightly, "You mean you couldn't hear that? It sounded like someone was in danger, or worse...! I think it might be...!"

"Silver?" Shadow asked.

"I don't know, " Sonic said again, but this time more frantically, "I have a feeling something bad's happened to him! I haven't heard from him in what feels like forever!"

Shadow didn't want to think the worst had happened, but he was feeling just as worried as Sonic was. He decided that the main road would be the best chance to find him, so without saying anything he ran in that direction.

"Shadow, hey-!" Sonic cried out, "Wait for me!"

Silver felt himself starting to wake up. He opened his eyes slowly, trying to focus on what was in front of him. He saw another figure laying next to him with tattered and dirty clothing. Sitting up slowly, Silver was able to see what was happening. He realized his head was in incredible pain, and he suddenly felt lightheaded. He was, however, able to figure out that he was stuck in a cage with other civilians.

Not, not a cage. A prisoner wagon. A prisoner wagon that was bumping and trudging along to an unknown place. In the front, he could see a small barred window and saw no one driving. It was being taken by some unknown force, while the guards surrounded it as they trudged along.

He immediately start to panic. He looked around the wagon to see the two other people looking just as scared as him. A rock, a stick or tool that someone had...someone should have something to pry the cage door open!

"H-Hey," Silver stammered, "do you guys have anything to get us out of here? We need to get to Princess Blaze's castle as soon as possible!"

The people shook their heads, and the woman scooted closer to him. She was a gray, older-looking mouse.

"They took all of our weapons and tools with them. We have nothing..." She whispered. Silver saw that they were all tightly chained by their hands and legs; there was no way they were going to be able to free themselves without causing serious harm. He suddenly remembered his psychokinetic powers would be able to bend the bars on the door.

"Okay, everybody stay back," Silver said quietly. The citizens nodded and huddled to the furthest corner of the wagon. Silver concentrated on the bars, and tried to split them from each other. He felt his power building up in his palms, glowing green and bright, and he lifted his hands. He twisted them each way, but the green glow was not surrounding the bars. No matter how hard he concentrated, nothing was going to bend or break them...not even the strongest supernatural powers for all Silver knew.

It was no use. they were stuck inside the wagon, with no way out.

"I don't get it..." Silver whispered, "Why isn't it working...?"

"The bars must be made of some kind of power-resistant material," the male cat responded hesitantly, "I've heard of this kind of stuff being almost indestructible."

"That means..." Silver said, "...that we're stuck in here?"

The woman started crying quietly. Silver sighed shakily, and turned to the bars once again. He grabbed onto them tightly, and wanted to scream as loudly as he could. He knew, however, that the surrounding guards would beat or kill him with no hesitation. He decided the best way for Sonic and Shadow to find him, would be to call out with his animal cries again. Bowing his head and covering his mouth slightly, he began to screech like a bird. He knew what he was doing was a long shot, and he was surprised the guards were not paying attention to these sounds he was making, but he wanted to at least try to get help.

He just hoped that what he was doing was working.

Shadow and Sonic kept running towards the road, keeping a sharp eye and ear out for Silver. Anything was better than nothing at this point. There was no sign of tread along the plants or dirt, and the rain was deafening. After what felt like more than a few minutes, they both arrived at the road.

"Where should we go, Shadow?" Sonic asked, panting slightly.

Shadow looked to his left, then his right. He was silent for awhile.

"Shadow-?"

He held up a hand and hushed him. "Listen," he replied.

Sonic strained his ears, and he finally heard something other than the rain. A bird-like cry!

"Silver!" He cried, "Where is it coming from?!"

Shadow pointed to his right. "That way, it sounds like! Let's go!"

Sonic nodded, and they ran to where the sound was coming from. Now they knew they were on the right track.

They turned a corner to see the back of the prisoner wagon and two guards with their backs turned. The rain was still so loud, that they could not hear footsteps behind them. Sonic could see a few people in the wagon, and was shocked to see Silver in front of them all, holding onto the bars and looking scared. His eyes lit up once he saw his friends, and almost smiled. The prisoners surrounded him and saw the two hedgehogs, and they began to whisper excitedly.

Sonic drew out his sword, Shadow his scythe, and they ran as quickly as they could towards the wagon. Sonic leaped up in the air, and came down on the neck of one of the guards, killing him instantly. Shadow followed behind him, decapitating the other. Unfortunately, the sound of swords impaling flesh is easy to hear even when it's raining. Two more guards came from the front of the wagon, their swords also drawn. They swung at the hedgehogs, but none laid a hit on them. Again, they were not the fastest or smartest beings.

"Hold on,everyone," Sonic exclaimed, "Shadow and I will get out out!" He killed another guard in one swing of his sword, and jumped onto the back of the wagon. He tried prying the locks open with his blade, but it wouldn't budge.

"The bars are made of some kind of invincible material, Sonic," Silver said, "I don't know if blunt force will get it open! I tried with my psychokinesis, but..."

Sonic looked at him confidently, and replied, "Don't worry, kiddo! I'll figure something out...!"

But no matter how hard he tried, prying the hinges of the prison door wouldn't work. He leaped off of the wagon, sheathed his sword, and attempted a spindash on the door's lock. Sparks flew everywhere and a loud grinding sound came from the lock, causing Silver and the others to cover their ears. Once Sonic retreated, he gritted his teeth to see that not even a mark was made. Shadow finished off the last guard in sight with his scythe, and caught up to the wagon.

"What's happening," he asked in a frustrated tone, "Why aren't they free yet?"

Sonic's fists clenched, "The whole wagon's made of some kind of metal that we can't break through! I don't know what else to do!"

The woman shook the prison bars forcefully, "Please, help us!"

Shadow examined the wagon at the distance he and Sonic were in, and he growled. More enemies were quickly approaching, and even he was starting to panic. He put his scythe away, backed up, and started throwing Chaos Spears at the wagon. Silver and the prisoners covered their faces, and one screamed from being startled. Shadow threw as many as he could, as quickly as he could, hitting some of the guards at the same time. He threw them harder and harder, causing the spears to be bigger and thrown more carelessly.

Some almost hit Sonic as he jumped out of the way. "Shadow, dude! Watch it You're gonna kill one of us if you're not careful-"

He stopped when he saw something in Shadow's eyes. It wasn't worry or anxiety. But if it was in his eyes, it was drowned in rage. Pure rage.

Before he could blink, Shadow's eyes then glowed red. A dark red aura surrounded him, and his power rings slipped off.

Silver and the prisoners backed away in the wagon. He had never seen Shadow like this, and it scared him. Among the Chaos, he could hear Sonic shouting at Shadow to stop. The guards stopped their attacks as well, dumbfounded at what was happening. Tears began to form in Silver's eyes as he stared.

"Shadow...?"

He hoped Shadow could hear him, but his plea was barely audible to begin with. Shadow didn't falter, however, and the aura grew dangerously stronger. he ground stared to shake, the wind blew harder and became hotter from the atmosphere.

Sonic almost began to scream, "Shadow, STOP! You're going to kills us all if you do this! Hey! Listen to me! Shadow!"

Shadow drew in a deep breath...

"SHADOW!"

"CHAOS-"

"SHADOW, NO-"

"BLAST!"

"STOP-!"

The whole world seemed to flash with red, and everything was thrown from the explosion. Silver and the prisoners were rattled around in the cart as it toppled over, and Sonic felt himself skid along the dirt path, thrown backwards from the fight. He then felt himself losing consciousness...

Sonic woke up, rubbing his head as he lifted himself from the ground. He saw the smoke starting to clear from the explosion, and he looked around. He didn't see the prisoner wagon anywhere, or the guards, or Silver...

His eye caught a figure on the path, lying in a heap. He suddenly realized who it was.

"Shadow!"

He rushed over and shook Shadow's shoulder.

"Hey, Shads! Are you okay? Hey, can you hear me?"

He turned him over, taking him into his arms. Shadow's eyes were closed, and his body was limp. Sonic then realized all of the blood seeping from Shadow's wrists and forearms. He concluded that the Chaos Blast was so powerful that it gave Shadow third-degree burns. They were so severe they had cause his skin to completely burn off and start to bleed profusely.

Sonic's eyes widened. "Oh God...Shadow!" He shook his friend harder. Shadow's eyes finally opened slowly, but they were unfocused.

"S...Sonic..."

Sonic looked at him, "I'm right here, man! Stay with me, okay? We have to get back o Blaze's castle...!"

He felt Shadow's hand grip his own, and they were shaking.

"Silver...where's Silver...?"

Sonic searched for any signs of the prisoner wagon, but nothing was there. He strained his ears to hear anything. Nothing.

Shadow's grip tightened, causing his wounds to bleed even more. His tone of voice began to sound panicked. "Where...is Silver? Sonic...?"

Sonic turned his attention back to Shadow, "Stop moving! We have to get you back..."

"No! Silver...!" The black hedgehog suddenly felt faint. He collapsed back into Sonic's arms, slipping in and out of consciousness.

Sonic lightly tapped him on the shoulder, "Hey, hey! Shads, look at me! Look at me! Hang on-"

But Shadow had fainted.

The blue hedgehog slumped over, still holding onto Shadow's body. It was all overwhelming. Silver was gone. They couldn't save him. or all they knew, he was dead, or the prisoner wagon had been completely untouched from the Chaos Blast, and it had moved along the path to the enemy's castle.

Sonic looked up to the dark sky, feeling the raindrops hit his face. Tears streamed down his cheeks, and he started sobbing.

"I'm so sorry, kid...I'm so sorry..."

After a few years, I finally got back into the groove! Stay tuned!
