Two Desires

My heart fights

Two desires

One cold as ice

The other is fire

Fire that burns

Ice that chills

The two collide

Fighting in my soul

Fire melts ice

Water douses fire

And there it is

Ice is my desire

Its marble skin

And running grace

Its topaz eyes

And beautiful face

Reflect the light

Of sunny days

With chocolate eyes

And bronze skin

My sun

His eyes

Douse me with sunlit bliss

But clouds roll in

Hot turns cold

Ice encases my heart

And heat is no more
