DOA #3
"Im your darling uncle, not driver."
"Please drive, Apollo."
Apollo muttered under his breath as he started the Maserati. Jane let out a whoop.
"I know, sexy ain't she?" Apollo said fondly.
"Sexy as hell!" Jane agreed.
They sped to camp half blood.
And there he was, Mark. Lonely, and looking terrible.
"Dude!"
Mark turned, there came Apollo with Jane.
Jane. As in Artemis's older daughter.
"Jane?" he asked.
"Hello, im here too, and im a god." Apollo said.
"Good morning, Lord Apollo. Jane, what are you doing here?"
Jane swallowed, and was about to run off and tell Apollo his idea was bad.
"Don't even think about it." Apollo warned.
Frowning, Jane went to Mark.
"How much do you like me, Mark?"
Mark blushed.
"Oh, tell her, you silly boy. Ill turn if you want." Apollo said.
"I like you... A lot. I've been in bad shape without you."
"No duh." Apollo said.
"Apollo! Mark, how much exactly do you like me?" Jane pressed.
"This is getting boring to watch. Kiss, you two. Go on."
Jane made sure a protesting Apollo turned before anything happened.
...
"So, you have to leave?" Mark asked, hurt filling his eyes.
"Yes, but ill bring her from time to time." Apollo said.
"Really? I... Thanks, Apollo."
"Im feeling like Aphrodite, though." Apollo shook his head.
"Apollo, i swear-" Jane started.
"Lets go, lets go." he said, swiftly walking to the Maserati when-
"Dad?"
Apollo turned, horrified. He loved his children, but it freaked him out to actually meet them.
Will Solace stood there, confused.
"Umm. Hi? Will?"
Will looked disgusted at his lack of parental behaviour.
"what is she doing here? Did you bring her here?"
"Why, yes, i did." Apollo said.
"I left this. Mark gave it back to me." Jane held out a bracelet.
"Seriously, the sun god drives you here to retrieve your bracelet?"
"Yes, Will. What's wrong with that?" Apollo asked nonchalantly.
"Oh, no, nothing is. Considering the fact that you have never driven any of your kids to school, oh chuck that, never even driven yourself here to visit us... No nothing is wrong. And by the way, father, Artemis is an excellent mom. She visited Jane and Jean every week."
"Are you suggesting i don't care about you?" Apollo asking, anger ebbing out.
"Apollo, no. He is your son." Jane said quietly.
"Yes. Perhaps i should teach him how to talk to his father."
"Are you going to blast me dad? The one time you come to camp, you are gonna destroy me?" Will taunted.
Apollo's jaw tightened. "You will regret." he said coldly and walked off to the Maserati dragging Jane behind.
"You are not a good dad,
at parenting you are bad
if my anger makes you mad,
for your values i feel sad!" Will yelled and then realised what had happened.
His father had cursed him.
...
"Excellent, daughter dearest!" Artemis smiled appreciatively.
"Thanks, mother!" Jean bowed, proudly. A dead boar lay at her feet.
"Why dont you try to hunt by listening only to sound, Jean?" Rose asked.
"I think its too early for that." Jean smiled.
"Nonsense, you are Artemis's kid. You can do it."
"Well... Ok, ill try."
Artemis smiled. She tried not to favour her daughter much. She led the hunters into a new forest.
"There, Jean, your chance to hunt by listening!" Leah grinned.
Jean listened closely. It sounded like an animal was drinking water from a nearby stream. Everyone looked at her.
She shot, and froze when she heard the cry of pain of a woman.
She raced to the spot.
Annabeth lay there, breathing hard.
"Oh gods, what have I done!"
