"How dare you do this without my consent?" The red face Kazekage spat at all nine cowering men.
"We need to speed this process up to have a candidate." Sajo whimpered out.
"Doing this without me knowing was very schemas." Gaara slowly calmed down before falling in his chair and sighing.
"That was an asshole move, ne?" Kankuro pitched in, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Which villages did you come into contact with?" Gaara asked, as a pile of files was passed over to him.
Gaara looked over to the rest of the files that were still in its box and raised his finger to point at them. The Council shook their head and mentioned those were low-class women who weren't 'worthy' of being a candidate.
Gaara looked over the files just to satisfy the men around the table, but only had one raven haired woman on his mind. He secretly hoped for Satomi's name to pop up somewhere here but to his disappointment.
Her name was nowhere to be seen.
Gaara sighed and went through each file quickly, having no interest in any of the women. Take it, they were beautiful and had many good connections, but none competed with his brown eyes beauty who ran from him.
He rubbed his chest, a light ache banged at his heart as he thought back to the clearing. She ran from him and he followed, but once he caught up, he couldn't see her anywhere. She was gone. As if she was never there.
He had been in a foul mood since then, snapping at any little thing. Sulking in his bedroom and looking like someone tore cacti from his garden. Kankuro started to worry when he was woken up at night with light sobs at the middle nights.
Kankuro stole a peek at Gaara to see him clenching his hands in his lap, completely hidden from the nine idiots across from him. He felt a gentle tremble and looked under the table to see sand slowly going to Joseki foot.
Kankuro placed a hand on Gaara shoulder and squeezed, shaking his head. Gaara looked at him and sighed, the sand collapse to the floor. The nine men being completely obvious to this. Gaara closed the files harshly and moved them away from them.
"Give me those." He pointed at the box.
"But Kazekage-Sama, those are a bunch of commoners." Goza gasped, thinking his lord was ill in the end for wanting those files.
"I don't need your comments, pass the box."No one moved.
Gaara clenched his fist, the sand rising from the ground and encasing the box. He motioned for the sand to come to him. Once it did, he got out all of the files and skipped most of them until he hit the letter S.
He felt a little hopefulness pop into his chest, the ache still there, but faintly beat. If he could see her picture, it would be the mean the world to him. He wanted to see her again, no, he needed to see her again. He wouldn't survive if he didn't.
Gaara flipped through many files until he came upon the name Satomi Orica. He smiled self-consciously once he looked at her beautiful face. Her white teeth shown behind her pink lips as her smile breathed life into him.
He traced her picture with his index finger before gently rubbing circles on her cheeks. The word, love, rolled off his tongue as the council looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Kankuro smiled at his baby brother.
'Looks like you finally got yourself a woman. And you call me a slob.' Kankuro thought.
" I shall wed Satomi Orica." Gaara placed the file of his love on the table for the councilmen to see.
"B-ut Kazekage-Sama! She's a lowly commoner and she looks plain looking. Here, the file of Tezuka Kari, she's beautiful and daughter of a bu-" Before Tojuro could finish, he had sand pinning him by the throat against the wall.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence." Gaara growled out to him, making the sand just a bit tighter.
Tojuro gasped out and clawed at the sand clenching at his throat. The councilmen tried apoligizing for the foolish man, but Gaara shook his head at them. Tojuro gasped out a 'sorry' and fell to the floor coughing.
"All of you do well to heed your comments about my wife. Meeting dismissed."
"What am I suppose to do?" Satomi asked the boy sitting across from her.
"If you love him and want to be with him, be with him. Simple as that." The dirty blonde hair hummed as he took a sip from his tea.
"It's not as simple as that, Sou!" Satomi threw a small cookie at him.
Sou dodged the flying cookie and took another sip at his tea, he shook a finger at her playfully before picking up the cookie and throwing it in the trash can.
"You saw them getting information about the girls here. He's going to pick someone who's pretty and isn't fucked up." Satomi sighed sadly.
"I'm just an ugly killer." Satomi stared at the wall behind Sou sadly.
"You're right. They're much prettier girls than you here. He'll probably pick one of them and marry her and then proceed to fuck her for the rest of their lives." Satomi flinched and grabbed her chest and the words Sou said to her.
"But it doesn't matter hoe pretty you are or how big your boobs are. You're pretty hot yourself and have a pretty awesome personality. And from what you told me, it looks like he's already fallen in love with you." Sou shrugged.
"But he's the Kazekage, he has to pick someone who's' pretty and could give him strong children. If I were to give him children, they'll just end up blind and disabled." Satomi looked down sadly.
"Don't always think negatively you goof." Sou hit her upside the head.
"But it's true."
"It might be true, but I don't think that would stop him from fucking you one hundred times over." Sou crude language never seemed to get new.
"So I'll just be a toy?" Tears swelled in Satomi's eyes.
'Ah fuck.'
"No, I didn't mean it like that." Sou wrapped one arm around her.
"You guys have been seeing each other for a year now and a couple months without. That shows some type of love."
(Yes, time skip.)
"I mean that, when you love someone and they love you back, nothing stops you from showing them how much you love them. No matter what anyone says, what anyone thinks, you have each other and are happy." Sou explained, rubbing her back.
"I love him, I love him." She sobbed into his shoulder.
She clenched at the hem of his shirt as she broke down even more. His handsome face popping up in her mind, his crooked smile flashing down at her. His soft lips against her as he took her over and over again.
She let one hand go to clutch at her aching heart, it beat for him and only for him. Gaara, her sweet sand controlling love, was away from her and probably choosing another to be his wife as they spoke.
'I love him.' A knock was heard at her front door.
"Who is it?" Her voice cracked as she opened the door, but saw no one.
On the doormat was a piece of white paper and a rose next to it. She picked both up and closed the door behind her and walked to the table, Sou curious about the slip of paper. She opened it and gasped as she read.
'Meet me at the clearing tonight at nine, I have been dying to see you, another day and I swear I will perish from not speaking to you.
Sincerely yours,
Gaara'
