Chapter 3:

*Eira's POV*

About an hour away from the scheduled time for Santa to depart, everyone gathers around for the announcement of the new Head Elf in the main workshop. My black eyes look from the very back of the crowds to watch Santa and Noel come forward onto the announcement stand.

"As you know this is my final year of being Head Elf and final year of being a working elf," Noel begins. "So tradition goes on schedule."

"Noal and I have been thinking and talking on one elf deserves to be Head Elf," Santa adds in.

"It wasn't a difficult decision," Noal smiles to everyone. "We have decided to have…." The female elves around me smiles proudly and begin to walk forward. "Eira Winter!" he smiles big.

Everyone, including myself, are shocked on the announcement and even talk among themselves.

Noel whistles to get our attention.

"Eira," Santa smiles to where I am, "would you please come forward?"

The elves move to make a trail for me as they all look at me. I nervously walk over to the elder elf hesitantly.

"Why her?"

"She isn't special."

"There must be a mistake."

Counterless whispers surrounds me skeptically. I'm still in shock of the big news. I didn't know of what to think really.

"Noel, sir," I speak to him softly, "are you sure about this?"

"Of course I am," Noel smiles. "You are one of the most hard working elves I have ever seen, also you come in early and stay afterwards. You always report to me whenever there is something wrong."

"Furthermore," Santa steps in with a smile, "you help me with ideas and help me with own work whenever you have freetime."

I am speechless like everyone. Never once I would have thought the way I've been doing since I graduated from Elf School could actually be something that could take me to the rank of a Head Elf.

"Do you accept, Eria?" Noel asked still smiling, offering his hand to me.

Everyone watches instantly. Some were hoping that I couldn't accept it and others were wondering if I am. Maybe becoming Head Elf will actually have my parents will think of me as a worthy daughter.

"I accept," I finally smiled and accepting his hand.

Santa cheers and the elves followed, even though they don't want to.

"Congratulations, Eria," my Spirit of Winter smiles to me when I arrive outside, spreading his arms for a hug.

"Thank you so much," I smiled, running into his icy hold.

"I told you that you are special," Jack chuckles.

"I still couldn't believe it," I chuckled as well, snuggling into his chest. "Maybe my parents will see me worthy," my voice lowers at the thought.

Jack places a hand the back of my head to gently run his long fingers in my hair.

"We are going to see tomorrow and if not, I can take you somewhere nice and comforting for our Christmas vacation," heis words are comforting to hear.

The next morning, a gentle breeze in my hair awakes me from my sleep. The corners of my lips curl up when I feel the presence of my lover behind me on my bed.

"Merry Christmas, my little Winter goddess," Jack smirks as I turn on my back to look up to him.

"Merry Christmas, my Spirit of Winter," I smiled more to him.

He wasn't wearing his normal nice clothing, but wearing a matching blue and snowy button up collared pajamas.

"I have a surprise for you!" he smiles, getting up from the bed.

"What is it?" I giggled, following suite.

"Come with me," he holds onto my hands and lead me to my living room.

The moment when we enter in, a gasp of happiness and surprise appear out of my mouth as my hands flew up to my mouth.

My whole living room is a Winter Wonderland theme with hints of black making it perfect for us.

"Oh my gosh, Jack!" I feel touched, smiling softly.

"A dark Winter Wonderland or maybe a Winter Sorclipse for the one I have," Jack smiles to me.

I smiled more. "I love you, Jack Frost," I tell him truthfully.

His whole face lights up in happiness as his smile turns into a grin. "I love you too, Eira," he tells me truthfully as well.

We pull each other into a hug.

Later on in the afternoon, Jack and I get ready for meeting up with my parents for the annual Christmas gathering. I've decided on wearing a long sleeved dark green top with a high waisted black skirt and black tights.

Simple makeup of black eyeliner into a cat's eye and mascara makes my eyes pop out more. My long hair falls around me in soft curls and waves.

As the time goes closer to when we need to leave, the nerves start to kick in. I only see my family once a year, usually nothing good will happen. Also this time, I'm going to announce I'm the new Head Elf and my new relationship with Jack Frost. Two things I'm not so sure about.

"Eira?" Jack speaks up from behind me. "Oh my," he smiles, "you are so beautiful."

He pulls me into a hug and immediately senses me being nervous.

"Jack, I don't know if I can do this," I tell him softly and wrapping my arms around his torso.

"Yes you can, Eira," he says softly, looking deep within my eyes. "Like I said before, this going to show how your parents will be treating you. And if they don't treat you nicely, than I'm taking you somewhere else to spend your Christmas vacation."

His words are comforting to hear.

I smiled softly and giggle a little when he kisses my forehead.

Mother and Father lives on the Eastern side of the North Pole. They live there with my four siblings, two retired elves and two in Elf School.

Once we arrived, everyone are doing their own thing with either presents or having the Christmas meal.

"You're late!" Mother spits at me while placing more food on the table. She has long sandy blond hair and green eyes with peach colored skin. Her dress is light pink that is making me cringe inside. "Who's this?" she asked about Jack.

"I'm Jack Frost," Jack introduced himself, stepping forward. "Eira's boyfriend."

The moment when the word "boyfriend" appear out of his mouth, everyone stopped and turn towards Jack and I to see our hands laced together. My boyfriend notices the family having either sandy blond hair or brown hair, peach colored skin, and either have green or silver eyes. The complete opposite of what I look like.

"You have a boyfriend before me?!" my older sister dramatically whines.

"You are too young to have a boyfriend!" Father yells at me in anger.

"She's only a thousand years old," Jack glares at him, placing his hands on my shoulder to protect me. "I'm in love with her," his statement shocked and angered my family. "And she's going to be the Head Elf."

"That's a lie!" my older brother yells. "You're too stupid to be Head Elf!"

I didn't know what to do next. Should I cry? Should I scream? What should I do?

Tears begin to build up in my eyes from being hurt.

Jack notices this and magic surrounds us, making us disappear.
