Happy late Valentine's Day everyone! I haven't updated this in...forever really. Finally getting around to doing it! Thank you to 4 different Guests, Lilietje99, Gillian73, Kelly Herondale, chapiggy, More than stars in the sky, and Doclover for reviewing the last chapte and for waiting for my lazy self to finally update!

Jace made the long trip he needed to take to the Silent City. When he got there, he didn't bother waiting for a Silent Brother to guide him.
The situation he was in was too dire to wait. So, he found his own way to the middle of the City, having a deja vu moment of when he first came here with Clary.
Clary.
He still couldn't believe that he had found enough strength to up and leave her. But he had to. He had to know what happened.
He had to know why he hurt her. She was the reason he was here now in the City of Bones, ready to face the torturous pain of the Silent Brothers invading his mind. And he would be willing to do it a thousand times just to remember. Just to know.
Just to be able to see her again.

He heard and then saw the Silent Brothers gathering around him.
What brings you here, Jonathan Herondale?, he heard one of the Brothers say in his mind.
"I woke up earlier and found Clary in my arms. She lost a great amount of blood and the knife that caused her wound was in my hand. I remember nothing about it, and I desperately want to."
So you wish for us to search your memories in the hopes that you recall it.
Jace nodded.
Very well.
He looked up and saw the Mortal Sword above glow radiant with power.
Then he heard the voices.
It seemed as if there were thousands, maybe even millions of voices whispering into his mind; each of them invading his thoughts and memories. He saw visions of images of things and people. He saw the various plants in the Greenhouse; the Midnight Flower coming into full view. He saw a booth at Taki's, the Institute steeple, his pristine bedroom, the different blades and rack of witchlights and backup steles in the Training Room...
...Clary.
She was mostly coming into his mind now. Her and her green eyes that reminded him of a fresh leaf turned up into the summer sun. Her and her orange hair that always seemed like a ray of light when he saw her. He saw the way her fingers twitched when she desperately wanted to draw something and the sly way she smiled when she wanted her way. She was overpowering his mind; the thoughts he had of her and the memories she was in. He saw them in the Seelie Court together, then outside the Wayland manor, finally all ending when he saw the very first memory he had of her.
When he first met her. He remembered her at that crowded Pandemonium club. He remembered her shocked face as he, Alec, and Isabelle killed a demon. He remembered her panicked look when she first saw him.
He remembered how he loved her at that instant.
So many memories, so many feelings. All of them surging through his mind, popping up like summer lightning. He felt himself begin to go dizzy.
Then he felt himself fall.

Isabelle sat in the kitchen with Magnus and Alec. She was putting whipped cream onto her hot chocolate while debating what to do about the whole Jace and Clary situation.
"Um, Iz? Don't you think that's enough whipped cream?", Alec asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
She looked down at her mug and sure enough, there was a mountain of whipped cream. She couldn't even see her drink anymore; it was covered in the cream.
"Sorry, my mind is...wandering off. I won't be bale to deal with this. I'm telling Clary."
"But if you tell her, Jace won't ever come back, remember?", Alec replied.
"I know. But he won't be here, so how on earth is he going to find out?", Isabelle counteracted.
"Because he put me in charge to tell him if you guys speak a word about him," Magnus explained.
"What?! Magnus!", Alec yelled.
"I'm sorry! He watched Chairman Meow once, I owed him."

When Jace woke up, he felt dizzy and had a huge headache. Or migraine. He never could tell the difference. He looked around him as he slowly got up. Everything was the same, with the exception of the fact that the Mortal Sword was no longer illuminated.
Your memories are blocked, Jonathan.
"Seriously? It just rained memories in my head, but the one that actually would hurt me the least right now, is the one you can't see."
We're afraid so, Jonathan. We are sorry.
Jace swore under his breath as he left the room.

Clary got up bright and early the next day for her training session. She pulled down her tank top and tucked it into her yoga pants. Then, she slipped on her Sketchers and tied her hair into a ponytail. As soon as she stepped into the hallway, she found Isabelle waiting for her.
"Morning, Izzy," Clary said sleepily. She had never really been well with waking up...well, bright and early.
"Wake up, sleepyhead! Your new trainer is here! His name is Sebastian Verlac, and he's pretty cute. Don't be late! I brought caffeine." Isabelle held out a mug of coffee. "Don't worry, I didn't make it. I got it from Starbucks and just put it into a mug."
"Thanks, Iz." Clary took the mug and sipped it. Mmm, caffeine always helped. Isabelle lead her down the hall and to the Training Room. As soon as she stepped in, Isabelle closed the door quickly behind Clary, not bothering to come in.
Clary turned around and saw Sebastian. Sure enough, he was pretty cute. No, more than that. He was gorgeous. He had white blond hair and dark, dark brown eyes.
"You must be Clary. I'm Sebastian Verlac," he said, extending his hand out to her.
"I...I...,"Clary stuttered out before shaking his hand. "I...I'm Clary."
"I...know."
"Oh, right. I'm so stupid."
"No, it's okay. I must say, when I first heard of you, I never thought you were so-"
"Short? Weak looking? Frail?"
"Actually, I was going to say beautiful."
Clary felt her cheeks begin to blush. No guy had ever called her beautiful. No one until Sebastian.
Right?

Isabelle left the Training Room doors, hoping that she made a good decision by leaving Clary alone with Sebastian. If Isabelle wasn't already with Simon, she would definitely go for Sebastian. Which reminded her, she was going to meet Simon at Taki's. She grabbed her purse and coat and left the Institute.

Sebastian helped Clary get unbuckled from the bungee cord. When she was free though, she was pressed up against Sebastian's chest, and she could feel his heart beating beneath her hands. Before she knew what was happening, he had connected her mouth with his, and she was trapped in a kiss. Even though it was a good kiss, who was she kidding, a really good kiss,it was different. There was someone else who kissed her differently. Even better. Someone who put passion and all their love for her into one kiss. Who kissed her like that? She hadn't really kissed anyone like that. And she remembered every kiss she had, considering that they weren't a huge number. Then again, they were only from Simon, and he certainly did not kiss her with as much passion as she was thinking about know. The kiss she thought about was different. It was perfect. And more importantly, it was where she belonged; it was her home. She belonged with that one person she couldn't remember. She belonged in his arms. Wait. What was she thinking? A person she couldn't remember? Really? How cliché was she?

Sebastian slowly pulled away, as if he couldn't bear to separate them.
"By the Angel, Clary. I'm sorry. I know we just met, but the moment I saw you I...there was a connection and I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, Sebastian. I felt that connection too," she responded. Although, she didn't actually feel an immediate connection. She had never had an immediate connection with someone ever. Or did she?
