Hello once again everyone! :) First, off I want to again thank everyone who has been reading my work, as of this moment we are at a little over 400 reads, which I am finding myself amazed at, so thank you! :) I also want to thank AlexFalTon, Micidonal, and guest reader Dream. and .Silver for the characters they have sent in. There is still a lot of space for more characters, however, which I would love to see filed in. Going in that direction I still am in need of two children King Aerys between the ages of 18 and 26, I am also in need of the three younger children of Princess Rhaellen, who are between the ages of 16 and 10. The children of Crown Prince Aemon and his sister-wife Princess Alaena are also open, they are 10 or younger. Characters from other houses are welcome as well, as are any bastard Targaryens you might come up with. Sorry for making this so long, and I hope you all have a good day or night (depending on where you are).

Chapter 2: Raenor I

Harrenhal may have been stormy, and King's Landing warm, but the Eyrie was having a cold yet clear night. The kind that Raenor Targaryen, youngest son of King Aerys, loved. In fact, Raenor loved the Eyrie in general, loved spending his days in the mountains that sounded it, and loved imaging what it would be like to soar around them on the black of his dragon, Corlax.

Unfortunately for Raenor, Corlax, who was named for the great Corlys Velaryon, a man who was famous across Westeros, was not with him at the Eyrie. By the laws of the Seven Kingdoms, no Targaryen was allowed to have their dragon with them unless they were accompanied by another rider/dragon pair. This law had been put into practice by Queen Daenerys Targaryen after her son and heir Rhaegar, and his dragon Shyrax were killed well visiting the city of Meereen.

It often angered Raenor that the one time this law had been broken it had been if the flavor of someone who was not in their right mind. For, the law had been broken the day, a little less than a year after the Red Rebelling, Daemon Targaryen had taken up residence in what was left of Harrenhal alongside his dragon Rhaegal.

Raenor had been more than a little angry when he had heard about Daemon's departure from King's Landing. He was not upset that his nephew had apparently claimed the ruined castle as his own, Daemon could have the haunted place as far as Raenor was considered. No, it was that Daemon, who everyone, form the smallfolk, to the noble lords, to his father: the king of all Westeros, knew was insane, had been allowed to leave the Red Keep unattended and mount the largest and most dangerous of the Targaryen's dragons.

That was what upset Raenor, that he, whom everyone knew to be perfectly sane was forbidden from keeping he own dragon with him, well the one person in all of Westeros who should most definitely not have one, and was allowed to live alone, save for a few servants, with the best of the family's dragons. Raenor was also more than a little jealous that Daemon, who was nowhere in the line of succession had Rhaegal, the dragon that Raenor had long wanted as his own.

Raenor's thoughts turned from his nephew to his half-sister. He knew that Rhaellen was a smart and calculating woman and that she would, without a doubt, claim the throne for herself and her children. Raenor knew that she was capable of running the country, but that would not stop him from supporting his elder brother Aemon's claim to the Iron Throne. After all, Aemon was their fathers oldest living male child, and that was all the proof Raenor need that his brother should rule.

There was also the fact that Rhaellen had no clear heir herself, Daemon was her firstborn, but he was insane, and the last thing Westeros need was another mad king. Her next child was a girl named Vylaeria, and although she could follow her mother onto the throne, it was a well-known fact that Vy, as she was called by family, had no interest in ruling. Her next child was also a girl, and although her name escaped Raenor's memory, he did know that she had tried to seduce Daemon and that it had nearly gotten her killed. He could not remember the names of genders of the remaining two children, nor did her care, their mother had no claim to her bothers throne, and neither did they.

Before Raenor's thoughts could turn to other members of his family who might be or might become, threats to Aemon's claim Maester Godwin, the maester who was in serves at the Eyrie appeared, a letter in his hand.

"A letter from your brother, Prince Raenor," the man said kindly as Raenor took it from him. Before turning to go he added, "I believe that it contains word of your father, the king,"

Raenor nodded his thanks before opening the letter and quickly reading it. It was a very short letter, but it head news that was of great importance to Raenor and House Targaryen. It read:

Raenor,

Father is on his deathbed, and I believe that our half-sister may move against us. I need you to bring an army from the Riverlands down to King's Landing before the war that is to come, comes.

Your brother, Aemon.

Raenor let out a long breath, he would do as his brother asked, of course, he would. But that depended on him being able to leave the Eyrie, for he had no doubt that the Lord of the Eyrie, Jack Arryn, was loyal to Rhaellen, who was his cousin.
