Intelligence
Booth entered their home office in time to hear Brennan make a sound of disgust. "What's up Bones?"
"I'm doing some research for my book and came across this online IQ test. It's ridiculous! You cannot measure intelligence with just ten questions. You need a whole series of questions from different categories. What they have here? This is not how it works. This is not how any of it works!"
Brennan huffed out a breath as Booth massaged her shoulders. "Bones, it's okay that's just a fun game. No one takes it seriously." Booth said as he leaned forward and kissed the top of her head.
"But Booth, I even tested it out, chose incorrect answers and it still told me my IQ was 180. That's ridiculous. All these less intelligent people will think they have a genius level Intelligence Quotient."
"Well Bones I'm sure the majority of sensible people will know it's not real. Those that don't…well maybe they need the little boost they'll get from thinking their IQ is higher than it actually is."
Brennan sighed deeply, sadly. "Maybe, but it's just wrong…so wrong. People should know who they are and accept that, be happy with that."
"Whoa Bones, going philosophical on me?"
"No…well; maybe? It's just…maybe I've been spending too much time in the world of my next book. As you know the case involves self-delusion. I think I just need a little time away from working on that."
"Well, that's what I'm here for. I came in to take you away from all this. A little dinner, a little dancing, a little romance, and whatever comes after."
Brennan stood, wrapped her arms around Booth and gave him a kiss on the lips then rested her head on his chest. As they started swaying to music only they could hear. "I'm ready."
