Chapter 3: After School
As soon as Snow got home, she immediately received texted Aurora.
Aurora: Hey girl! Wanna go to the mall with me, Lottie, and Cindy? Jasmine and Anna both had family business.
Snow: Sounds fun! I'm in!
Aurora: Great! We'll be at your house in 20 minutes(: See ya then!
Snow: Okay! Can't wait!(:
Snow decided to go to her mom's office to tell her where she would be for the next couple of hours. She knocked before entering.
"Mom?" Snow softly said. Her mom paused her typing and looked back at Snow.
"Yes?"
"Um my friends invited me to go to the mall with them. Can I go?" Snow asked.
Her mom looked at her daughter for a few seconds before answering.
"Fine. You can go but be home by 8:00." She sternly said.
"I will! Thank you!" Snow quickly made it up to her room to get ready. Soon enough the doorbell rang and Snow ran to answer the door.
"Hey! Are you ready to go?" Aurora asked with a smile.
"Yup, let's go!" Snow grabbed her purse before following Aurora to her car.
"Hey Snow, glad you could make it!" Lottie beamed as Snow got in the back seat with Cindy.
"Yeah me too." She smiled.
"Oh my gosh, Aurora, did you hear that Gaston picked on some of the freshman today?" Lottie said as Aurora pulled out of the driveway.
"What? Really? Did he get in trouble?" she asked.
Lottie scoffed. "No, but he should have." She rolled her eyes. "If you ask me he..."
"Don't worry, you'll get used to the gossip." Cindy whispered to Snow. Snow chuckled.
The four girls finally arrived at the Neverland Mall and parked their car into the parking lot.
"So do you guys think we'll spot some hot boys today." Lottie teased
"You and your boy-craziness." Aurora playfully rolled her eyes and smiled. "Are boys all you think about?
"Not all the time." Lottie smirked. Aurora just laughed. "So what store should we start at?"
"How about...Sweet 16?" Cinderella suggested.
"Sure!"
Meanwhile...
"Hey you guys wanna go into John's Sports Center and look for some stuff?" Philip said.
"Yeah! Let's go." Charming agreed. In the store, Philip and Florian noticed something bugging Charming. He's been a little distracted lately. They figured it was about his mom since it was the anniversary of her death last week, but his face read something else...
"Charming, what's up? You've been a little out of it lately?" Philip interrupted Charming's thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, it's nothing." Although something was on his mind.
"C'mon, we know something's up, you can tell us." Florian said. Charming knew he couldn't get anything past his friends. He sighed.
"Alright, you got me...it's about Cindy." Philip and Florian just stared at their friend waiting for him to elaborate more.
"Over the summer we started talking more and I got to know her better and I don't know..." He paused while starring down at his feet then looked back at his friends. "I couldn't stop thinking about her."
At this point, Philip and Florian didn't know what to say but understand how he was feeling. There was a moment of silence before they exchanged looks.
"Have you ever thought that she might like you back?" Florian finally said.
"…I dunno...but hey, it's no big deal." He tried to reassure his friends.
"Okay...you guys wanna look around at some more stores or what?" Philip suggests
"Yeah" "Sure"
"You guys ready to go?" Aurora recommended.
"Yup!" Right when the girls exited the store and turned the corner, they almost bumped into a couple of boys. Snow bumped into one of them; coincidentally, it was Florian. He caught her in time before she could fall. When they made eye contact, it was like the world stopped.
Florian finally asked. "Are you okay?" His eyes was as blue as the sky.
"Um, yeah I'm fine." She blushed and stepped out of his hold. "Thank you." She speaking with her soft voice and smiled. He smiled back.
"I'm Florian."
"I'm Snow White but people call me Snow."
"Hey Cindy." He said, smiling at her.
She smiled and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Hi, Charming."
Aurora noticed Philip was also part of the trio. "Hey what's up?"
"Nothing much." He grinned. "Who's your friend?" He asked looking at Snow, not recognizing her.
"Oh! That's Snow; she's a freshman." She answered.
"Ah"
Lottie awkwardly stood between the group watching everyone staring at each other and smiling.
"So...you guys wanna keep shopping cause I was kinda looking forward to that unless you guys want to stand here and stare at each other all day." Lottie interrupted. Everyone looked at her.
"Oh! Um yeah let's go." Aurora said. "Bye guys, see you later." All of the girls waved to the boys.
"So Snow, what was up with you and Florian?" Aurora curiously asked her friend.
"What? Oh nothing, I just bumped into him and I lost my balance so he caught me."
"Yeah but you guys were gazing at each other like you guys had a connection or something." Lottie added.
"Connection? No no no no I just met him. I don't like him" She denied.
"Alright fine but I saw something between you two." She teased.
Mulan let out a big sigh while jumping onto herbed after a long day of school. Even though it was the first day of school she had some advanced classes and got some homework. She quickly got out her phone to call Merida. Merida picked up after the third ring.
Merida: Hey Mulan, what's up?
Mulan: Hey can you hang?
Merida: Yeah sure! Wanna meet at the Café?
Mulan: Sure! I'll be there in 5 minutes.
Merida: K, see you soon.
Mulan: K, bye.
Mulan grabbed her backpack just in case her parents got suspicious of where she was going. When she made it to the kitchen she found her parents sitting at the table talking.
"Bye Mom, bye Dad! I'm going to the library." She lied.
"Okay sweetheart. See you when you get back." She smiled and waved.
At the café, Mulan spotted the back of Merida's wild curly hair in the window. When she entered her friend immediately spotted her and waved. Her smile soon changed to a puzzled look.
"Why did you bring your backpack?"
"I told my parents that I went to the library so I brought my backpack as proof."
"Oh...did you get any homework?" Merida asked.
Mulan rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's what I get for getting into advanced classes."
Merida chuckled. "How about we get a Latte to get your mind off of your homework for a sec?"
"Yeah that sounds good."
"Alright we're home." Attina said, pulling up into their driveway. Ariel was the first one to get out of the car. Her first day went pretty well; she found her classes okay, she met new friends, she wasn't alone at lunch. Maybe high school wasn't going to be as scary as she thought. She finally made it to her room and turned on her TV to watch Mean Girls.
'He was so cute.' Cady said.
For some reason, Aaron reminded her of Eric. Ariel started to block out the movie and Eric clouded her mind. His hair, his eyes, his smile, he was perfect. A knock soon interrupted Ariel's thoughts.
"Hey Ariel. How was your day?" Her dad asked standing in her doorway.
"It was nice. I made some friends." She smiled
"That's great! How about your classes? No trouble with any of your classmates or teachers?"
"Nope." She grinned.
"Good. I'm very proud of you." He gave her a soft smile before walking away.
Ariel's eyes wondered around her room until they set on a picture of her and her mom when she was 6 years old. She remembered that day all too well. It was the day they got to spend the whole day together.
"I'm gonna beat you, Mommy" Ariel playfully taunted right before she and her mom were about to have a swimming race.
"I'd like to see you try." Her mom teased back. "We'll jump in on three. Alright?" Ariel nodded her head. "Okay. One...two...three!"
Both plunged into the pool filled with cool water that was in their backyard. They were both swimming really fast, but Ariel was faster. Her family always teased her about being half fish because she loved water. She was always a fast swimmer; she was even faster than her sisters.
"I win, I win, I win!" Ariel shouted while jumping up and down, excitedly. Her mom was just getting out of the pool. She laughed.
"Alright, alright, you win. Are you ready to eat?" She asked while she was wringing out her hair.
"Yes!" Ariel and her mom dried off before grabbing their snacks they prepared earlier. The mother and daughter sat on the patio talking and enjoying each other's company. Ariel's mom noticed her daughter was a little absent-minded.
"Ariel?" She interrupted Ariel's thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, sorry." Yup, there was something was bugging her.
"Want to talk about it?" Her mom asked.
Ariel was a bit hesitant but knew she could tell her mom anything. "Well... these kids at school told me I'm weird because I don't collect rocks like them. I collect things I find in the dirt or in the sandbox." She explained.
"Oh, well everyone has different interests, dear. I'm sure they just want to find things that you find, they're just not lucky like you." She tried to reassure her youngest with a smile; but it still didn't cheer her up. "What kind of things do you find?" Ariel lightly smiled.
"I find these cool objects or pieces of things. Like yesterday I found a mini treasure box! And I found this little ring in it. Wanna see?"
"Of course!" Ariel went to retrieve the item she found in the sandbox at school. When she returned with the box she handed it to her mom.
"The ring is inside it." Her mom opened the box and found a plastic ring with a red gem in the middle.
"Ohhh, that's very nice; way much better than a rock." She smiled at her daughter. She knew at this age kids get excited over almost anything. "Why would the kids at your school even tease you about finding something so wonderful?"
"I don't know...I guess I really am weird." Ariel sadly said while looking down her feet.
"Hey, hey, hey..." Her mom lifted up her chin so she could look into Ariel's sea blue eyes. "You are not weird. You are nothing like that. You know what you are? You are so special, no matter what those kids say. And you know what makes you special?" She pointed to Ariel's heart. "It's this little heart inside of you."
Ariel couldn't help but smile as her mom smiled at her.
"Don't let anyone tell you something you're not, Ariel. Everyone isn't the same, but that's what makes life so interesting. You are unique in your own special way."
Ariel pulled her mom in for a big hug and said, "I love you, Mommy."
Her mom squeezed her tight and replied, "I love you too, Ariel."
A single tear ran down Ariel's cheek as the memory became more clear to her. She missed her mom more and more every day and always thought what it would be like if she were still here today. She wiped the tear from her cheek and took in a big inhale before exhaling.
"Life would be wayyy more different if you were here, Mom"
Elsa and Anna were just walking through the front door of their house when Olaf came running to great them.
"Hey buddy! Did ya miss us?" Anna playfully asked her excited dog while rubbing his head. "C'mon let's go upstairs." Anna headed to her room with Olaf not far behind.
Elsa decided to read before heading to job at their parents' ice cream store. She went into a little room they called a "mini library" to find a book to read. She always noticed that their parents used to read them all of them time during their free time. Elsa found a book whose spine read "To Kill A Mockingbird"; it's been a while since she has read that book. After she removed the book from the shelf she noticed a journal hiding behind the stack of books.
"Was this...Mom's journal?" Elsa asked herself out loud while reluctantly reaching for the journal. When she opened the cover of the book an envelope fell out. As she reached down to pick it up, the name on the envelope caught her attention. She was about open it until-
"Elsa!" Anna yelled at the top of her lungs for her sister. Elsa quickly put everything back where it was before accompanying her sister. She ran up the stairs, making it to Anna's room before she could yell her name again.
"Yes?" Elsa answered out of breath.
"Oh! That was quick." Anna said a bit surprised.
Elsa finally caught her breath. "Yeah, so um what did you need?"
"Do you know Hans?"
"Hans? As in the redhead, jock with long sideburns who's about this tall?" She raised her hand to show how tall we was.
"Yup, I'm pretty sure."
"Well, what about him? Did he talk to you or something?" Elsa asked, curiously.
"Yeah, like, right before lunch. I ran into him, literally, and then he gave me his number."
"Oh!" Elsa was a little surprised to hear this. "I mean I guess that's cool. I'm happy for you." She plastered on a fake grin. Anna grinned back.
"Don't text him right away though; let him come to you. "She advised.
"Alright, thanks!"
"Okay, well, I guess I should be getting ready for work. I'll see you later tonight, kay?"
"Okay. See you." Elsa headed back downstairs. Elsa's job was another thing that limited her and her sister from communicating often. Anna wished they had time to talk and catch up as sisters.
'I hope she doesn't end up herself hurt." Elsa thought as she got ready for her job.
Pocahontas and Nakoma were walking down the sidewalk into town and heading to the market.
"Tell me again what were supposed to be getting?" Pocahontas asked her friend
"Ugh you don't remember? Corn, carrots, milk, potatoes, and eggs. That simple." Nakoma answered.
"Oh right...wouldn't it be simpler if we wrote it down?" Nakoma just shrugged. "Hey you know what, let's go look around while we're down here. I heard they opened some new stores."
"Eh I don't know, I mean your dad wanted us to go straight home once we got the groceries." Nakoma tried to argue.
"C'mon! It won't take long; we'll just say it took a while looking for the right groceries." Pocahontas dragged her friend to the "Arendelle Ice Cream Shoppe".
Both walked into the chilly store to find their classmate, Elsa, behind the counter writing something.
"Hey Elsa!" Pocahontas greeted.
Elsa looked up from her paper. "Oh. Hi, Pocahontas. Hey Nakoma." Elsa, Pocahontas, and Nakoma never talked much but they were still friendly to each other when they did. "So what can I get you guys? Our new flavors are apple pie, cookie dough, and cheesecake."
"Oooh..." Pocahontas and Nakoma scanned the freezer that contained the different flavored desserts. "What do you think Nakoma?"
"Umm, I dunno. Could I try a sample of the cookie dough, please?"
"Yup." Elsa handed Nakoma a mini spoonful of the ice cream. Nakoma let it melt on her tongue, soaking the flavor into her taste buds.
"This is actually really good! Could I have a the cookie dough with M & M's?" She asked as Pocahontas was still determining what flavor she wanted.
"Here you go." She handed Nakoma her ice cream. "That will be $3.79. Pocahontas have you chosen a flavor yet?"
"Uh I don't know which one I want..."
"Well I hope you can make a decision soon cause we gotta go." Nakoma said.
"Okay, okay hold your horses...I think I'll get the superman ice cream with sprinkles, please." Pocahontas finally decided.
"Finally!" Nakoma shouted as Pocahontas playfully rolled her eyes.
"Alright, that will be $3.79 as well." Pocahontas handed Elsa the money and noticed a small bowl labeled "Tip" sitting at the end of the counter. She took two dollars out of her already open wallet and placed it in the bowl. "Here's a tip. Thanks Elsa!" Pocahontas smiled before walking out.
"Okay now can we get the groceries." Nakoma pleaded.
"Yes we can go get the groceries now." Pocahontas said as she took another bite of her ice cream. As the two girls continued walking they noticed Aurora, Cinderella, Charlotte, and a girl they've never seen before. "Hey who's that girl with Aurora and her friends?" She asked.
"Hmm, not sure. Maybe she's new to the school?" Nakoma shrugged and continued walking. "Look there's the super market. Let's go." When she turned to her friend she noticed she was missing. "Pocahontas?" She looked around for her. "Poca, where are you?" She finally spotted her hiding behind the fountain in the middle of town. She started to walk toward the fountain. "Oh come out so we can get home."
Pocahontas poked her head out. "You're really set on these groceries aren't you?"
"No I just want to get to your house and watch TV. Now let's go."
Pocahontas glanced at the water in the fountain. "Okay...there's just one more thing I have to do before we go." She said.
"What now?" Nakoma folded her arms. Before she could react, Pocahontas splashed some water on her. She lifted her arms in attempt to keep the water from reaching her. "Hey! Not cool!" Pocahontas laughed and splashed her friend again. "Alright, if that's how you want to play it." Nakoma said before splashing Pocahontas back. Soon enough they were both laughing together. "Don't you think we're getting a little old for these games?" Nakoma finally said. Pocahontas flicked water in her face as a response. Both continued laughing before making their way to the market.
*A/N
Wow! I know that I haven't posted in a freakishly long time because I think I got distracted (mostly school and watching tv series) and I've been really busy. But, during that time, I've come up with some ideas I thought would be pretty cool for my story, I just need to make it all flow nicely.
I have mid-winter break right now so I could possibly fit in another chapter soon. I hope you like it so far and I promise it will get more exciting as it continues.
Also sorry if the grammar is bad; I'm still working on it. I know I received a review about that a while back.
If you guys have any suggestions/ideas for my story I would like to hear them. Most of the things about my story are like going to seem odd (ex. I got a review about the age difference between Anna and Elsa), it's just because I wanted to shake things up a bit and do something different.
Anywayy, again so for the hold up, I'm going to start working on chapter four right after I post this. Follow/Favorite/Review!
Bye Bye for now! Thanks!
