Silence stretched out and Olivia unconsciously curled back into Peter, he held her and rubbed her back, resting his cheek against her head. It seemed as if time stopped, at least to Olivia, she was in Peter's arms being held as if she were the most precious thing in two worlds...and at that moment she knew that she was to him.

His scent invaded her nostrils, it was the same scent on his shirt that was under her pillow at home...his MIT shirt that had been left unwashed in the washing machine...it seemed that only his clothes had been in the washer so she'd packed up everything but that shirt, placing it under her pillow and grasped it in her sleep.

His hands ran up and down her back, allowing her to relax, however they didn't go lower than the beginning of her lumbar region. Patterns were drawn with his fingers and she closed her eyes to feel the patterns.

The warmth of his body burned away all her pain, making her feel like she was being wrapped in a warm cocoon full of love and tenderness. If she was honest with herself, she could stay in his warmth the rest of her life and never want to leave...he made her feel safe and protected even though she was the FBI agent.

His lips touched her crown or temple in pattern but in gaps of time, she still remembered his kiss on the other side...it was soft and tender, full of love and emotion. She knew without a doubt, had it been another place and they hadn't been in the middle of an inter-dimensional battle that they would have made love that night as well.

Finally she spoke, moving back slightly but his arms didn't let her go. "How's your head?"

"Better, a lot better." He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, letting his knuckles graze her cheek before dropping his hand back. "I had the best medicine in the world."

Her phone rang and their time of intimacy had to end, the real world was calling them...literally.

"You should get changed," she looked at her phone, "its Broyles."

Peter leaned down to kissed her cheek and Olivia moved her head, catching his lips. It was soft and gentle, both pulling back to look at each other and in that second Olivia knew everything would be alright. They'd have their moments of awkwardness and some moments of remembering but they could make it through anything...and if she was honest with herself again, staying angry at Peter was impossible.

A/N: Next we meet the little girl who starts everything.
