A/N: Wow! I know it's been a long time since I updated this story. Honestly, I had kind of forgotten about it. But I have found it again and will (hopefully) be updating a little more frequently. Mind you, I'm in the midst of my hardest semester yet, and I am uploading as I'm writing. Logistics. You don't care. ON WITH THE STORY! Have a LOVELY day! :) ~DrarryLover28

Chapter 3

It had been almost a week since Harry had followed Draco to the prefect bathroom. Since then neither boy had succeeded in thinking of anything other than that meeting. It was starting to drive them both insane. Draco was the first one to do anything about the growing frustration in not being able to talk to his new friend.

When Harry walked into the Great Hall for breakfast, he found a letter sitting nearby. The envelope simply said "H.J. Potter" and no one thought anything of it. Harry, of course, recognized the handwriting as that of one D.L. Malfoy. He looked across the hall to see the one and only looking at him expectantly. Harry picked up the letter, showing Draco he'd received it, and tucked it away in his bag to read later when he was alone. Harry looked back up to Draco who nodded in understanding.

The rest of the day continued without much to report. They had gone to classes as usual, referred to each other by their surnames as usual, and sent hexes at each other as usual. No one suspected the two had put their past behind them and that was how things were going to stay. Harry had managed to find a small bit of time to himself when Ron and Hermione decided to go for a walk around the lake. He removed the letter carefully from his bag, made sure no one was looking at him, and read the words silently in his head.

H,
Outside RoR, midnight, alone.

That was it. No names, limited details, and a general vagueness to the situation. Harry couldn't help but chuckle to himself when he thought of how quickly Draco had written the message. Meanwhile, in the dungeons, Draco was torturing himself wondering if Harry had ever read the note given to him at breakfast. It was starting to drive the blonde insane. He finally gave up on worrying and decided that he would follow his own instructions and see if the raven showed up or if he'd have to wait another day.

That night, Draco snuck out of the dungeons just before curfew under the guise of "Prefect Patrol" and went to hide in an alcove near the Room of Requirement. He'd been thinking of what they might need for their meeting all day, but was very careful to keep those thoughts out of mind until Harry showed up. He didn't need the room giving away his location by creating a door in an otherwise unremarkable wall. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait too long past midnight before the Boy Who Lived appeared.

"Draco?" Harry whispered, head peeking out from the invisibility cloak.

"I'm here. Hang on," he responded, instantly thinking about the room he'd created in his mind.

Suddenly, a door appeared, and the two boys stepped in together, their shoulders brushing only for a moment before both took half a step away from each other. They both cringed, unnoticed by the other, at the knee-jerk reaction. As they step into the room they look at each other and smile.

The room provided a couch large enough for them to lay out flat next to each other, a warm fireplace complete with roaring fire to keep them warm, and some small refreshments beautifully displayed on a small table in front of the couch. It was the perfect environment for getting to know someone you already knew so much about.

"Wow," Harry muttered, walking into the room quietly.

"Welcome to the Room of Requirement," Draco announced, extending his arms to show off the room.

"This is incredible. How did you know about this room?"

"My father had mentioned its existence for an entirely different reason. I was so fascinated by it that at the start of the year, I went on a mission to locate its exact position and purpose. I don't recall you having any trouble locating it either. Care to explain?"

"I'm surprised you don't remember. Since you and your posse broke the door down last year under the direction of Umbridge," Harry retorted, raising an eyebrow in judgment.

"Sorry about that. So, what are we going to talk about tonight?" he asked, quickly changing the subject.

"Your meeting; your topic."

"Fine. Let's start off with something simple," Draco said, moving to sit on the couch and gesturing to Harry to follow suit. "How was your day?"

"Honey, I'm home," Harry chuckled, but stopped when he realized that Draco didn't get the reference. "My day was pretty normal. How was yours?"

"Same," he paused, looking worried. "Why did you run off the other night? We were walking through the corridors together and then by the time everyone else had cleared out and we could talk again, you were gone."

"I needed to get back to the dorms before anyone else so I could put my cloak away. There are only a handful of people who know I have it. I'm sorry for abandoning you."

"No worries. I was just curious," he smiled.

Their conversation continued on staying on topic with light questions about favorites, class work, teacher opinions, and study habits. They both decided that the deeper, harder-hitting questions should be saved for later once the two had grown more as friends. Before they realized it, 4 am had come and gone. The boys weren't tired, but they decided it was best to get back to their respective dorms before anyone questioned their absence.

"Good night, Harry."

"Good night, Draco."

And with that, the boys shook hands and parted ways. One with Prefect privileges and the other with an invisibility cloak. Both with thoughts of the night swirling around their heads and dreams of their next meeting in their hearts.

A/N: Thank you so much for reading! Again, I hope to get back on the band wagon after a two and a half year hiatus. My apologies for those of you who have followed the story since its beginning. I love you all and hope to hear your thoughts on the new addition.
