Clary kept running and didn't stop. Why did she leave me? Just because of my demon and angel blood? Clary kept thinking, over and over. She hated the woman that gave birth to her. Clary already hated Jace, but this made her even more annoyed with him.

"Wait, your Clary's real mother?" Jace asked, confused. He knew he was adopted, but he thought that it was because Jocelyn couldn't have a child of her own. Jocelyn sighed. "Yes, I should have known to stay when she needed me. I should have been there to save and comfort her from Valentine's torture chamber, I should have been there to feed her when she starved, but I couldn't. Valentine experimented on her, making her dangerous to be around, making her a dangerous weapon to defeat the Clave." Jocelyn said.

Jace had only just learnt about the Shadow World, but this was still a bit confusing to him. "Wait, so if I'm a Shadowhunter, who are my parents?" Jace asked. "You're a Carstairs. Jonathan Cristopher Carstairs. Jace, your parents were killed when you were 6 months old. You were given to me to raise, but I didn't want you in the Shadowhunter world. Valentine had a grudge about the Carstairs family but gave up when he killed your parents. I'm sorry Jace." Jocelyn answered.

"What, so you ditch Clary for me? What type of mother does that?" asked Jace. "I couldn't help her, she was injected with demon blood and angel blood when she was six. Valentine made her mad, causing her demon blood to take over, she ended up killing her brother. I wanted to be there for her, but there was nothing I could do." Jocelyn said. Alec and Izzy gasped. "You left my parabatai to suffer? Now I know why she never said anything about her birth family. They only person she saw as her real family was Michael Wayland. We took her in and treated her as our own. Is there anything else you are hiding from us?" Alec asked, angrily.

Jocelyn sighed once again. "There is, but I don't think I would like to burden Clarissa even more." "Tell us," Isabelle demanded. She was getting impatient with Jocelyn. "Clarissa isn't my real daughter, I only had one child, and she killed him. Clarissa's real mother is Celine Herondale, and her father is Valentine Morgenstern. When Stephen died, Celine went to Valentine. They fell in love, had a child, then Valentine left Celine and came back to me. I stupidly allowed him into my life again, I couldn't leave the father to my first child, my son needed him. I divorced him when Clary was six and my dead son was eight. That's when I was given Jace. Valentine ended up taking Clary, because Celine died of grief." Jocelyn said, before shutting the door on their faces.

"Should we go find Clary?" Jace asked. "No, it's dangerous to be around her when she is mad. Just look for dented trees or walls and you would have found her." Izzy said, before her and her brother walked off. This Clary surely does have anger issues. I would too if I had the problems she did, Jace thought, before following the siblings.

Clary went to Central Park, there were plenty of trees to get her anger out on. Clary didn't care if the faeries got angry, she only cared about five things. Alec, Isabelle, weapons, training and fighting. Anything else was nothing to her.

She swung herself upside down over a high branch and closed her eyes. The branch she was on was higher than the buildings. Clary heard her parabatai, best friend, and the idiot blonde. The others saw Clary in the tree, Alec and Isabelle didn't look worried. Jace on the other hand, was. Clary opened her eyes, jumped from the tree, flipped gracefully, the landed even more gracefully. Jace was impressed.

"How did you do that?" Jace asked in awe. "Pulvis et umbra sumus." Was all Clary said. Jace knew enough Latin to know she said, 'We are dust and shadows.' Alec and Isabelle told Clary everything that Jocelyn said. "Wait, I'm a Herondale/Morgenstern? That's messed up." Clary said. "Yeah, your from two strong Shadowhunter families, one who happens to have a psycho murderer on the hunt to kill everything." Alec joked, it made Clary smile. The most morbid things made Clary smile.

"I'm sorry about not telling you about how I grew up, I thought you would hate me if I said my birth father is Valentine. I just always loved Michael Wayland, I never called him anything but 'father'" Clary said. Izzy wrapped her arms around Clary. "All good sis, let's go home. Jace stopped. "You weren't kidding about the dents in walls and trees, were you." He said as he pointed to the dents. Clary just smirked and kept walking.

It was early in the morning, when Clary climbed the highest rafter. No one could manage to get up there except her, so it was the perfect place to get away from everyone and everything. She took her seraph blades, daggers and stele up there. With her daggers, she carved things into the wood. She had carvings from when she came to the institute when she was ten. They were of all sorts of things. She heard loud footsteps, who she immediately knew who they were from. Jace. Shadowhunters were graceful and quiet, not loud and reckless.

But Clary couldn't say anything, she was reckless. But she was quiet and reckless. Jace was looking around for Clary, when she jumped down and landed in front of him, without any noise. "What's up?" She asked. "Looking for you, I was thinking about the falcon story." Jace's eyes moved to her hands, which had the scars from her falcon on them. She hid them quickly. "What about it?" "It was you wasn't it, the girl. And Valentine was the father in it." Jace said. "Yeah, that was me. I only wanted to make him proud of me, but instead he thought whipping was necessary…" Clary trailed off. "I shouldn't be telling you this." She said, before beginning to walk away. Alec and Izzy walked in, followed by Max, their younger brother.

Max threw a dagger at the ropes that held the rafter up, and it came falling down. Clary's seraph blades, daggers and stele came down with it. "Clary, did you carve those?" Max asked. "Yeah, did you have to hit that down, I use that." "I only wanted to know why you spend time up there. I'll get dad to fix it, make it higher this time." "Thanks Max, I needed it higher, helps when jumping off the Empire State Building." Clary said. "You jump off that?" Asked Izzy, Alec and Jace all at once. Clary just smirked and walked off.
